GREAT VIDEO DAVE, YOU SUPER DUPER TECH on this one! I don't know how many times techs go out and throw ice machine cleaner in a dirty unit and expect it to clean properly, hats off dude! Clean that junk first, then run the cleaning fluid! Yes Yes Yes! Then, you may have to clean it again if it's really bad. Also, I can't count the times where I've found orange wire nuts in the ends of the water distribution tubes where the plugs should be. Always clean those bad boys out with a long round brush. If the "egg crates" are broken, replace them. They'll fall down into the sump or not distribute the water well. If your hoses have black crap in them, just replace them, you won't get the black out, even with bleach. It's embedded in the hose it's self. As far as that dump/check valve goes, make sure it seats properly or you're gonna dump water down the drain causing a short freeze cycle, replace the spring with the proper one if needed. Not all the springs have the same tension.. Great job man! I used to be the Hoshi rep for So Cal. You're spot on on all your stuff here man. An Edit to add. Don't forget the float switch, make sure that thing floats properly, they can sink sometimes, also make sure the sump to float switch tube is clear and clean, it will cause havoc on your fill and freeze times. It's also a source of over filling, ie: water down the drain.
Yeah, my super tech badge needs to be pulled again. Never cleaned a Hosi that well. But I don't work on many. Just Mani and Scotsman. Customer got their money's worth. Nice work.

Is 1- 1.5hr enough time? Thats how much time my company gave me to service, The wash and sanitize per hoshizaki is 30 min. each, and removing and washing those parts seems to be much longer then another 30 min. Then start up . I'm always eating time on Ice Machine.

I’ve only dealt with manitowoc..... this is way more work to clean. How is their reliability compared to manitowoc?
