@George Adept I mean John was absent mostly because of Dutch always leaving him. Funny how Dutch was constantly preaching loyalty yet had none for the people he was preaching to.

I dunno dude. Although this game is an achievement in graphics, story-telling (sometimes), and music it really falters in the gameplay department. It feels pretty dated and dull compared to a lot of other 3rd person shooters and the movement can feel very clunky at times. I feel there’s a lot more games that came out recently that managed to balance these things a lot better.
I usually rush with my horse from one point to another, but at this moment I took my time because I didn't want to arrive before the music ended

The coloring on the horse is perfect for the duality of Arthur.

Yin and yang in Arthur’s life. He is a good man that makes bad choices.
I read another comment that says that the horses symbolise Arthur's inner conflict. The horse he gets at Chapter has less white spots than brown ones (white Stands for losing Faith in Dutch) but the one he gets in Chapter 5 (this one) has more white patches than brown ones, which means Arthur has finally started doubting Dutch.
This is basically Arthur's brief moment of grief for hosea and Lenny. And his realization that things are becoming undone with the gang

I’m 67. Been gaming since my son was born in 76 and never been so deeply affected by a cutscene like this. Rockstar created a masterpiece in RDR2.

When I was playing this scene it was raining and while I was entering Saint Denis there was a huge lightning over the city. One of the best gaming cinematic experiences of my life.
Exactly happened to me yesterday 😪 it took me by surprise and it was espectacular with those lightnings... I've been listening to this song today over and over again. It's just perfect and very very emotional 😢
When I was playing a huge forest was on fire and I thought “sad music, the main character was gone for a long time, the forest was burned down - were all the characters from our camp killed by the Pinkertons?..” I feel like something really bad happens.

When I played there was a rainbow at the end and sun started to rise. It was SO BEAUTIFUL, I cried so much the music makes me cry again.
For me, I got to Shady Belle just as dawn was breaking through. So powerful to ride out the entire night and not stop to find out what happened to my little found family.
Me and my wife were like "who's cutting onions in here?". This was powerful!
I remember when I played this part and this feeling of just being so done and sick of Dutch's shit... He had been acting weird but watching him kill that old lady was the moment I felt he had really changed.
Seeing Dutch's fall from grace was really something

He makes some bad choices like choosing to rob the bank after the attack from odriscolls all i wanted to do after is kill all the odriscolls for killing keiran killing sadies husband and shooting me then hanging me upside down and torturing me
I'd completely lost faith in him in San Denis. After that train station robbery fiasco my patience with his "plans" was spent. He's makes it worse by basically gaslighting Arthur every time he tried to acknowledge how south things were going
This song made me reflect so hard on my own life, riding to this masterpiece hit me hard.

I know this song is supposed to symbolise hopelessness, but I can't help but feel inspired by it instead.
I can really relate to this comment, i remember playing through this game and reflecting on my life and my decisions. The song hit me hard and still does to this day.

I shudder at the thought that another me in another dimension might not have taken the horse to ride it back to Shady Belle, and thus missed the greatest moment in gaming history.

What i love is that while "Far Away" was John heading out of the known and into the unknown and wondering if he will ever find what he needs, this is reversed with Arthur returning from the unknown to the known as he wonders if he and the gang can survive all that has happened.

Both of those were epic horse rides. I just completed the Far Away ride today, and it's amazing how both songs fit so well with their respective characters' journeys.
Played this chapter yesterday........lost my horse, my money, my weapons.... Stayed Voiceless one of the most emotional moment of the game

I'm playing the game with my father .. as for the first chapter of the saga .. and in this scene we could not hold back the tears .. touching and special scene like all the narration .. I just wanted to remember that I am 32 years old and my father 63 and we looked like two children .. Arthur shook me deep with that tormented and wild soul. Well, I bought this game with the last money he had in this wallet, I wanted to use that money in something good and thank God I wasn't wrong! So, practically this was his last gift from him to me. The best video game and best scene I've ever played!

Man, this feeling I had during the scene was indescribable. When the music kicked in, I felt this sense of strong emotion of just making it back home after an impossible journey.

i think maybe it's cause i choose to always do right in many of the side quests, i had 3 or 4 moments during the ride where it went to an orange tone and you heard voices of past moments repeated and then transitioned back into the normal cinematic ride and song...it was beautiful...the sun was still up and setting during my ride too...simply a brilliant piece of work.

I’ve just finished RDR2 and to me this scene was one of the best. It was unexpected and I cried a little. This game to me is like a playable movie. It’s a masterpiece.

One of the best video game scenes of all time, it made me feel so connected to Arthur when this scene began because it was like you could feel the pain and struggle Arthur had gone through having expected his life to be in a better place at this point.

I think this is where Arthur finally gets to process the deaths of his dear friends Hosea and Lenny and begins to understand what is happening to the gang. The song reflects this, I believe, because it’s almost like it’s Arthur’s own mind praying or thinking or something similar. He’s asking whoever is listening to his thoughts to have him be unshaken by the crash of his world.

Not only is this the best part of the game for me. It still blows my mind that Rockstar got D’Angelo of all people to do a song for their game. One of the greatest musicians of all time who rarely ever drops music. Amazing.

I had stopped playing this game for over a year once we got to Guarma. I was hurt from the deaths of you know who. I finally picked it back up and got back home to this scene. I reloaded to play it twice. Not an action sequence. Not "LENNY!" Just this ride back to Shady Belle. What a moment.

Arthur finally became his own man & no longer just a son of Dutch during this. Former orphan turned loyal enforcer, to becoming a man who realized his true destiny.
