Welcome to Singular's Gateway to the USA panel event.
Our CEO & Founder, Tom Froggatt, was joined by Kenny Duncan, SVP at Accent Therapeutics, and Ashley Jones, Founder of Cultivate Co, to discuss the challenges and opportunities of landing and expanding as a Biotech in the USA. During the interactive session, Kenny, Ashley and Tom took questions from attendees, and shared their insights and experiences.
About the speakers:
Kenny Duncan serves as Senior Vice President, Chemistry at Accent Therapeutics and is responsible for Chemistry, DMPK and Pre-clinical Development functions. He joined Accent in January 2020 as Vice President of Chemistry, bringing more than 20 years of biotech drug discovery experience. He has contributed to eight clinical drug candidates over his career, so far resulting in one approval.
Prior to joining Accent, Kenny served as Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry at Epizyme and previously, with a number of biotech firms, including Antisoma, Infinity, and Cyclacel on a range of oncology and non-oncology indications. Kenneth received his BSc and PhD from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
Ashley Jones is the founder of Cultivate Co., an independent HR consulting practice. With over 15 years of experience in human resources, Ashley has worked primarily with growing companies in the biotech sector. Before founding her consultancy, she served as Vice President of Human Resources for venture-backed and public biotech companies, Her experience includes a 6.5 tenure as an HR Business Partner at Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
Ashley’s work involves both strategic and operational HR management, including developing HR policies, implementing systems, and scaling organizations. She has experience in various aspects of HR, such as growing companies, preparing for IPOs, developing organizational values, talent development, and creating strategies to foster engagement.
