I think it’s the fact that the high-pitched noise sounds exactly like a submarine sonar beep. It inherently has an aquatic nature to it, that’s why it sounds so correct playing over the level.

3:04 you can hear soft high pitched "ooh"s in the back if you listen closely and the "brrrrr" at 3:06 just before the rhythm repeats is just 👌. This is the attention to detail in the soundtrack that makes it catchy.

When i finally teleported on top of Eternal's Big Shell, this song... oh man not only does it go perfect with the maps aesthetic and the heavy demons, but its this back to work for the slayer element. Like dude just killed the icon of sin and saw there were more demons and eagerly thought to himself "oh boy, here i go ripping and tearing again."
Oh I love this OST and its map as well! Not to mention, this is thanks to the music again. As a quick reference, when you're slaying you way through the level along THIS is playing in the background, feels like a natural powerboost!
