Take it from someone who has the same work environment, this was a great video. I understand the frustration with the snap ring as I found my snap on Snap On snap ring pliers were missing and without them it's a bear. Keep up the good work. Especially on your K3500.
Hey thank you for that man. Much much appreciated 🍻

Thanks Brudda! It'll be a fun one :D
Good video ,I was wondering how that bearing came out ,iam doing aEaton HO52 which has,1,washer plus 2 nuts first nut 50lbs of tork 2nd 175 lbs ,thanks for sharing I loved it
Thanks for watching man! 🍻
So you torqued the spindle nut to 52 lbs, and backed it off a little. I pulled off the hubs, and the seals seemed okay but the bearings were loose and could slide. I didn't have the spindle socket so just tapped it tight with a flathead. I didn't replace the seals like you did, so would the oil sleas slide on by pushing on it?
Hello! Absolutely. If your seal is still good then re installing the seal onto the hub assembly then pushing it back onto the spindle, seating it with maybe a couple taps from the dead blow should get it back in place.
Hello on the out bearing how far to you put thecseal ? Just ti where the retainer goes in? Please let me know
👌🏼
6 views and no one likes it. I will throw you one.... Prince of Wales island 🏝
I just had to pull my front drivers side axle and replace the U-Joint , not one cap came out intact .
(..and no crabs were hurt ... not even scared). More than I wanted to know about that Dodge .
Thank you for that Angus! Those crabs will live another day... to get bigger and more tasty! Those u joints can be fun if it's been a while since they were changed. Glad you got er done 🍻
Quick question man, I replaced the seal on mine not very long ago. I’m not getting any leaks right now but a very loud clicking/ticking noise. When I drove it yesterday and stoped it was so hot around the wheel it was smoking and the center cap was hot. What comes to mind on that?
Oh man, that's not good. First thing that comes to mind is there might be too much load on the bearing. You might back the axle nut off and readjust the pre load.
Was it the bearing going bad?
I gotta pull out the outer bearing race in order to get the outer seal installed first correct?
Thank you for the question! The outer seal or gasket is the axle gasket so that comes out before you remove the hub assembly. The only other oil seal is the inner seal which comes off before you can gain access to the bearings. I hope I understood your question and answered accordingly 🍻
Where did you find the keeper clip for the outer bearing??
This guy? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GU8CIE2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=kooshdaakaa14-20&linkId=665882c26527d92c7af9338acff6f69f&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
What about oil?? How are the bearings lubricated?
2 ways. Bearings are both in an oil bath from the rear diff gear oil as well as I pack them with grease out of an abundance of caution. You don't "need" to pack them with grease because they are in an oil bath, so no worries if you skip that step.
@@KooshdaakaaGarage Okay yeah, that's what I thought. A couple things with that, when I pulled out the rear axles, they were pretty dirty, if the oil is flowing through there it's sure to get contaminated.. The innermost bearing just seems like it wouldn't get much oil, considering the diff oil has to flow out the differential through the spindle and the outer bearing.
What size jack do you use?
Hell Chadrack, and thank you for your question. I use a 3 ton jack. A 2.5 ton works just fine as well 🍻
4:15 NOT ONE BUT TWO TWO!!!! zip ties to tie down a caliper that isnt going anywhere LOL i dont even know why im watching this just bored lol
I've seen calipers fall and zip ties break with one zip tie but not two. By all means though, use one..
