The electrical connector and needle nose pliers worked like a charm. Thanks for posting!

Kudos to the genius engineers who thought designing this without being able to just use a screwdriver was a good idea. I am in a bind now and my chainsaw tuning screws require some pac man looking type tool that I will probably spend way too much time try to figure out a diy for

Very nice, I just had the same problem, the dealer wants to take a few days to do a 30 second job and I needed it now, just bought the tool off Amazon, but this cured my headache, thanks bud.

Great tip. Another method if no electrical connector is I used tweezers pushed in then pliers to squash the tweezers. Once the nut moved I could just hold the tweezers tightly without the pliers

Turns out the "special tool" is a 4mm socket. Comes in most small-tool kits, like "electronics repair" kits.

Here's a better way pull one adjust screw at a time, take your Dremel Tool with cutting wheel and cut a flat screwdriver slot in each Adjustment screw, simple, easy, and works every time !! :)

Please also add info on exactly how to tune the H and L on these presumably 4-Mix machines. I just tried an adjustment and I find it a bit different from ordinary 2-stroke chainsaws. L-adjustment is very easy. These 4-Mix engines have a different max RPM though and i find it more difficult to hear when they are just slightly on the rich side as they should be.

Just buy a little pack of red size 14 gauge wire Splicers. The barrel type that are made to put a 14 gauge wire in each end and then crimp down...just take a brand new one they fit right over the end of your adjustment screw.

@@SouthernStyleLawnCare sure, a 4mm is a 4mm. However, it would be nice, if while I were at my Stihl dealer buying a tuneup kit, I could also but the proper tool. I bought a 10 piece tool kit, which was supposed to fit my BG86 blower, for which I asked about compatibility before I bought them, but ended up sending the whole kit back.Thought for sure the 4mm in the kit would fit...NOT!.My screws look like some sort of hex,so I will try a 4.5 mm or 5mm nut driver, which I have on order.
My Hi speed needs some tweeking,as the rpm's keep going up and down at full throttle.
