      Thanks Erik, So happy to help you. I'm thinking of adding some instructional pictures to the video. I knew when I did this video it would get allot of views. It's now one of my top ten. Thanks again for watching and please share with friends in Sweden👍

    Great vid maan....I saw you fighting with that "H" screw. Next time, pick it up off the table or set it on the floor/ground. The engine vibrates the table with then causes the body of the trimmer to vibrate even more giving way to a vicious cycle...lol....you got it all sorted though. Great job and explanation at the end there 👍

      Thanks for watching, after I did this video I realized I could have used a small socket which I will do next time. I guess for folks trying this like me for the first time they would struggle too so in that sense I was keeping it real🤣

      Thanks Christian, there are other videos on this, but I wanted to make my own. After I did it was thinking why I didn't just use a small socket and ratchet wrench instead of the screwdriver. With it vibrating made it a challenge to adjust the high speed. Haha anyway I left it as is since the message was there either way. Thanks for watching and let your friends and family know about my videos. Tim

    I have a Stihl weed eater, best weed eater I've ever had! Haven't had to tune the carby yet but if I ever have to I'll try this!! Thanks for the share Tim!😀👍💯

      Thanks Robbie, I need to do a new more close up video and instead of trying to turn the screws with a slotted screwdriver use the right size socket on a handle. With the weedeater vibrating it's hard to stay on them. A drawing too on the video would help show which screws do what. I just came in from my workshop adding to another video I'm working on. It takes awhile to warm up out there. Burrr❄

      Might want to check fuel. Fuel line. & fuel filter first.
      Most of the time , you shouldn't have to.
      Even if you get a brand new oem carb, it should come set.
      I loaned a friend my blower once, he came back & said "I adjusted your carburetor for you"
      !!!!???!@??!?
      Last thing you want to hear.
      Took me a long , long time to adjust it back

      Thanks for your input. This was sitting for a few years outside under my old truck canopy. Moisture got to it and the fuel squeeze ball was cracked and leaking. I actually had another video cleaning it up and putting the new carb on it. The carb was not set from china. Plus the shutter spring was super weak so put the old carb one on. Worked great and still does👍

    Great video, thanks. You may want to consider your dog's hearing too and lock him in the house while you're operating the trimmer. Just a thought!

    Great job explaining! I just bought a 131 four mix off Craigslist. It's brand new but the guy left fuel sitting in the carb for over a year. It runs a little rough so I might need to rebuild the carb. Fresh gas and tuning the needles didn't help....bummer

    • @TimsWorkshopTJY
      @TimsWorkshopTJY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like a good cleaning is in order. Usually carbs just need to be cleaned. If the gasket doesn't tear or Orings aren't cracked just used the old ones. Check the float to make sure it doesn't have fuel leaking inside or cracked. Check the needle valve to make sure it's not worn. If all good no parts required just cleaning. Lots of videos out there. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if not already.

      Guess I need to add the carbs on weedeaters are sometimes not fixable and cheaper to buy another one on line like I did. From China and works great except for the throttle return spring is too weak. I just used the the old spring which was stronger

      Thanks for watching, it works good. I had an earlier video cleaning the magneto. Hadn't used it for 5 years and sat outside under my canopy. It was all Rusty so cleaned it and bought a cheap 10 dollar China carb for it. Had to replace the shutter spring that was weak and use the old carbs one. Worked great👍

    My ECHO starts first pull every time had it for 16 years . I miss it as its being used by my brother and I have his junk stihl. Needless. To say think I'll toss this one and go get another ECHO.

    • @TimsWorkshopTJY
      @TimsWorkshopTJY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. Never used an Echo before but my Stihl works great and my chainsaws. Both old Stihl units sat in the weather for 5 years and I cleaned them up and run great. Had to put a new Chinese knock off carb on the weedeater and was surprised it works great. Had to use the old throttle spring though. Chinese one sucked. Too weak

    If you fully seated(clockwise) the H. How many turns out?
    I'm not getting much variation in rpm.
    About a turn maybe a 1¼ turns out from seated.
    Is this to lean?
    I can't find much on a starting point for this particular trimmer (fs131) though most I've dealt with in the past are around one turn.
    Any help would be appreciated I really don't want to blow it up. 😨

      Here you go Matthew, this is my notes on how to tune my weedeater on the video. It shows the complete process. This should get it running right. I suggest using something better than a flathead screwdriver on the high speed adjustment. Not like I struggled through with. Haha
