    Those separators are a life saver, but when you use it, use those flat pieces of metal and turn the separator side ways to support the silver parts don't use the bolts like you did because those bolts will bend then you wont be able to open it for larger bearings and those bolts are expensive and I don't think MAC will warranty them.

      Haha can you tell it was my 1st time using 1, makes total sense

    Before I got my bearing separator I had to score the inner race with a cutoff wheel and split it with a chisel. The bearing splitter really sped up the process. The splitter got a lot of use as I used to rebuild SAAB 900 5 speeds. Worked great for removing the inner pinion shaft bearing.
    The new compressor is pretty quiet for such a big unit.

    Dam good video bro. That look like the same setup use on our small Jeeps. Imma show you the tool I use for the knuckle..lol..if I can find it. I think it was a manufacturer tool tho..But I got a knuckle here that was in the trash I will use for the video. Some mechanics just do the complete knuckle cause they lazy. Lol

    You shouldn't be pressing on the new bearing inner race FM. Take the OLD bearing and sand down the outer edge all around, about 1/2 inch deep. Use the OLD bearing to press in the NEW bearing by the outside edge / diameter. By sanding down the edge, it won't stick in the knuckle bore at all.

      @FluffyMexicanik  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did i presson the inner??? Oops i grad what i could...didnt realise i hadd the old bearing next to me until after....butttt i cant hindet the old bearing....*whispers* it was warranty 🤫🤫 dont tell nobody 😅🤣

      @Porch munkey absolutely. Old cars from 80's had 2 snap rings in knuckle. You could pull OR push the bearing in or out... Too easy a design. Had to make it a challenge 😡

    Real mechanic sh1t right here! Gotta do what you gotta do sometime to make it work, I’d definitely say this is a great example on how Harbor Freight is a useful store to have around.

    That compressor is a bad sumbich Fluff, twin recips on what? a 350 gallon tank? I'll post one of the new Screw Compressor I just installed here. 25hp, 100 cfm with an oversize refrigerated dryer. Bearing separators are a must around here, I bet Mac got a big markup on that one though.

    • @FluffyMexicanik
      @FluffyMexicanik  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think its 250 shit frosty im not sure lol our previous was 150gal and this 1 engulfs it 😅🤣

    In reality they should have a hydraulic press that you dont have to hand pump, than less time comsuming

    that tool needs to be turned sideways, to how you did it, so the bolts arent taking the force.

    • @FluffyMexicanik
      @FluffyMexicanik  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea somebody else mentioned that.. and makes total sense...it was literally my 1st time using 1 and thats how id seen it done so maybe thats why i was so unsure about the tool all along lol
