Terraria max ranged damage is unreal... Ranged Damage. So we've looked at max melee and magic damage now, so its time for maximum ranged damage! Today I show off the many ways you can increase your % ranged damage, utilising thing like armour, accessories and character buffs. interesting, but the coin gun with platinum coins should be the highest dmg-ing weapon in the ranged class. I was surprised you didn't mention it despite everything.
The sniper rifle and stake launcher against vampires beats it from a pure damage numbers perspective. But the coin guns still a beast!

I've always thought there shoud've been a post ML bow. The phantasm is great, but it honsetly pails in comparisan to the post-game weapons. Bows and guns have always been fairly equal in terms of their viability throughout the game so it's weird bows get left behind at the very end.
If only we could get a zenith version of all bows, guns, launchers, staffs, summon staffs, whips, magic book etc.
Bro is tweaking so how does a pre ml weapon does more dps than a post ML weapon
"fairly equal" my ass. From Plantera until Moon Lord, all of the bow options are far, FAR better than the gun options.
No Post Moon Lord bow, but there's two swords and a whole tier above them, oh well.
I had an idea for a final form star cannon that has infinite ammo. Maybe a star bow that has infinite shooting star ammo? Maybe something themed like the halo assault rifle?
You should do max summoning damage and test it with minions and whips

I have suggested this since the Magic Damage video. I can get my DPS up by over 310% without external buffs or banners. No Wrath buff, even Exquisitely Stuffed, just Plenty Satisfied and my accessory Loadout.
Maybe Sock wants to save that for last. It will be awesome!
I'm excited for the next one of max summon damage. Because not only is the summoner and accessories, but also depending of the whips, you can stack and add a ton of extra damage.
2:10 I wouldn’t recommend using 3 magic quivers as they do not stack as well as they used to, instead use 1 quiver, destroyer emblem, 2 scopes, and then either 3 more damage accessories (emblems and such) or 3 movement accessories
You can actually get perma uptime on the Vortex Armour stealth mode while still being mobile by using the Celestial starboard (or any wing that allows you to hover) and the Soaring Insignia. You can hover at full speed (81 on the starboard and 60 IIRC on the hoverboard) WHILE in stealth, so you can pick up that juicy 80% damage and 20% crit chance without sacrificing mobility. It's well worth the two accessory slots.

The phantasm is actually the best weapon to fight the dungeon guardian with, ive managed to get 120 dps with it. I think you should have also tested the phantasm as it has nuts single target damage, especially with luminite arrows
Would maximum explosive damage with the celebration mark II arguably be better than these two due to just how wide of an AoE it has? Or does the lack of explosive-specific damage boosts cripple it by comparison?

You kinda can camp shimmer that is occupied by hallow corruption for all three magic quivers. So i do say that you kinda can and should get all three magic quivers if you are into bows, so mechs and late game will be easy. Also why you didn't mention Betsy's bow? It deals more damage to flying enemies. It turns Duke Fishron fight into few seconds exercise.
You truly deserve more subs, I mean a lot more. I am a Terraria Master and yet even I did not know some of these facts. You go really deep into Terraria just to provide great info for everyone, you actually deserve at least 10x more subs then you currently have. you can get a lot of mobility while in stealth mode. i think it was the vortex wings and betsy's wings, the one's where you can hover across
adding the empress of light thing where you get unlimited flight time
just go stealth mode and start hovering and move across

The sniper rifle is my favorite weapon in the game, it's so fun and I can get some good use out of it with the endless musket pouch for mobbing

ranged is the best class imo, very good at all stages, easy to use, and can be pretty fun and doesnt require that much grinding either

Ranger in my opinion is best first playthrough class because it's weapons are quite common and are very easy to use

I agree. With a bow easy to make early, plus often being able to upgrade your main weapon (to the next best bow/gun) etc, while still being very straight-forward in usage, it's definitely the best for a first run
earlygame bows are super useful, especially compared to a copper shortsword, but the sheer tankiness of melee on classic makes it more viable the later you go into the game because a newer player won't really know how to dodge all the attacks, especially those of bosses like EoL, Duke or Moon Lord.
@@pi7855 Duke fishron is impossible/very hard to encounter because of being unnecessary boss for progression, spawn item is rare and place where spawn item spawns is even more rare.

I love just going stealth and shoot my snowman cannon straight towards the sky when I first play the ranged class. Explosives are so much fun
Speaking of Unreal, the Unreal modifier, while it has less damage per hit (+15%, as opposed to +18%), it also gets a +5% crit chance bonus and a -10% Use time bonus (effectively +11% fire rate), leading to even higher DPS.
Or do you also use Ruthless for the max Melee and Magic damage loadouts, too?

For before Plantera players-
I haven't tried this yet... but if you dye five Avenger emblems of ranged class... then you can equip them in all five slots (or seven if you have consumed the Demon Heart). This will grant you extra ranged damage in Pre - Plantera stage.

The Aerial bane is my personal favourite range weapons. With the best bow setup it deals silly dpa on a single shot. Around 20k from my tests.
In mobile it is kinda bugged and with that it can make its frag shots also hit the same target again. Imagine destroying a duke in about 6 secs

Ive always felt like the ranged class should have a zenith style endgame weapon since the sdmg is so underwhelming. Something goofy like a belt fed machine fun that fires crosbow bolts or something. Or a final form of the starcannon that has infinite ammo

I want to see maximum possible damage in a single hit (one damage number coming off target). It would be cool to see what kind of accessories and buffs/debuffs (potions, banners, ichor, etc.) you could combine to get something crazy.

What's the maximum value for "chance to not consume arrows"?
Is it additive or multiplicative?
Is it possible to reach a "never run out of arrows" treshold?
I have once tried this with the guns. Vortex Beater has 66% chance not to consume ammo, with 20% from ammo box and 20% from ammo reservation potion. Unfortunately, the ammo still loses, so it might be the same for arrows too.

I'm pretty sure the Celebration Mk. 2 is better than the weapons you put to the test here with mini-nukes. You'd need to abandon the quivers but you will shred anything remotely close to you and crowds will magically disappear

The Ranger definitely seems a bit underwhelming compared to the mage and melee classes. Should've got the Terraria equivalent to a Gau-8 or Railgun or something.

And that's why I enjoy the other classes over ranger. Don't get me wrong, rangers are powerful, and I see the reason why people pick the ranged class a lot so that they can deal lots of damage from a far away point without taking any damage. But the ranger class just seems boring to me, compared to the heart pumping adrenaline of playing true melee where you have to stay close to threats without projectile melee weapons, or the high risk, high reward and unqic magic of the mage class, or the satisfaction of summoning an army of minions and sentries while charging in with them on a combat mount swaping between multiple whips all at the same time of a full loaded out summoner class(my personal favorite if you could tell). Maybe there is just something I don't understand about the ranger class, but it just isn't the same as the other classes to me. But that's fine, not all the classes are for everyone. I could see how people don't like the summoner class, and maybe others could see why I'm not a big fan of the ranger class. As long as everyone could enjoy the game the way they want to, then that's okay. Plus I'm always open to hear what makes the ranged class fun, and I might try it.

It's more fun than I thought
Arrow is plentiful and craftable with very easy material, wood and stone, but because I'm also a builder I only acquire arrows through the merchant
That way I'm more limiting the gameplay
Sadly bows doesn't get interesting until you get bee's knees imo, but overall preHM bow is just boring
Hardmode tho, with new arrows and endless quiver, the game get more fun
Bow like pulse bow and aerial bane is my favorite
With the next update bringing new whips I think I would like to play the game like this
