- Terraria max magic damage is nuts... Magic Damage. At this point we've looked at max melee speed, max knockback, max melee damage and of course max cirt chance. Today its now time to see just what the mage class can do when maxed out too! And lets just say you won't be disappointed, thanks to a number of mage exclusive items and armours that can seriously push our % damage to the next level, which when combined with legendary Last Prism, can make for quite the destructive combo, killing bosses at near Zenith speeds! Last Prism has always been my favourite weapon. Just watching it charge up first damaging a wide area, then speeding up as the beam gets narrower and starts dealing more base damage, and finally just disintegrating any non-boss (includes event) enemy within 1 second.
yah last prism is my favorite wepon other then razerblade typhoon razerblade typoon just makes the game effortless with a hight damage build period
I'll say this: as a mage, I wish for a set with an unbelievably low defense stat, around maybe 10 in exchange for big increase in magic damage, turning you into a nuker build
Diamond Robe does something vaguely similar, though it’s not nuking material.

You should look into the Max Mana Cost Reduction/Max Mana build. It's such a goofy way to play Mage in Terraria, bringing your weapons' Mana Costs to absurdly low levels, and having 400 Mana to boot.
It's Chlorophyte Helmet, Diamond Robe, and Nebula Leggings to give Mana, Mana Reduction, and Magic Damage. Then you use the 5 Nature's Gift Accessories for additional reduction (Nature's Gift, Arcane Flower, Magnet Flower, Mana Cloak, and Mana Flower.)
Together, this yields 55% (assuming additive). Stack on Clairvoyance from a Crystal Ball, and you get +25% Mana Reduction for 57% total.
I don't recall if there is anything else you can stack on for lower amounts, but it's insanely easy to hit 400 Mana with 57% Mana Usage Reduction, then dump the rest into Defense or Damage.

ye its actually viable due to how mana cost reduction works. the more you stack the more you gain from it and you can use it to make cost heavy weapons more viable

I just did my first playthrough since 1.1 and I cannot praise these kinds of videos enough. I was so lost coming back into the game after so many years, but these simple form, shorter style content makes it easier to consume and figure out what is right for me. All these random tips are super useful, and I'd love to see more
Max damage isn't the same as max DPS, and DPS is what really matters
Having equal bonuses to damage and crit (up to 100% crit) is optimal for 0 defense enemies since they stack multiplicatively with each other, but crits double damage after defense is applied so that complicates things

An add on, cuz I don’t feel like editing: I’d like to see the max time you can fire the last prism, because it sucks up mana like a man coming out of the desert after five years
Its crazy to see how far it can go the moment i did a playthrough with it it became my favourite and it still is
The fact that with the right setup things like zenith do 7 billion dps is insane, late game melee is so broken XD
the only reason true melee exists is because relogic just made melee into mage (except the zenithh thats just ranged) and i dony know why
@@barritoothyWarrior class isnt a "Mage" or "Ranger". Also, Zenith is not a Ranged weapon. It deals Melee damage, it is a Sword, it swings swords !
@@Meowlegend7They're talking about the nature of the late game melee weapons, most of them fire projectiles similar to ranger and mage weapons, it's less melee and more swords that shoot projectiles

the last prism is my favourite weapon to use in pvp with max mage i’ve been doing it for over a yr and i just one shot any one and i mean one shot when fully charged and i like prep it and do a nice clean slice it’s so satisfying

which might as well be same % more damage (would be higher % if crits were more than double)
It always seems like the most obscure setups lead to the best results for stats. However, that's where the fun comes from!

Do you ever plan on talking about how usefulthe Pigronata is? They’re an easy to obtain source of both the best pre-hardmode bullets and one of the best food buffs in the game, and once you factor in the chance of getting money from them, their initially high price is reduced significantly

my favorite endgame build is a sentry/mage build with the old one's army armor set, because i can semi-afk anywhere, instantly, and because mage is so diverse
although i carry a rocket launcher with cluster rockets just for fun :3

Last prism is the mage Zenith, agree.
But I would love a Zenith spellbook, using all of them to a giant effect. We even have our last spellbook drop fron the big bad itself (and, tbh, lunar flare is amazing too).
I would even pitch a black hole like effect. We use our power to summon a sphere anywhere we click that damage anything it touchs and last some seconds. As a added effect, it groups enemys and "reverse knockback" them, trapping them inside it. It eould be eomewhat bad at bosses, but a amazing cc alternative weapon, being even better at events.

Spectre Armor (Damage, not heal one) is the best DPS with Bat Scepter. You can hit tons of damage with set bonus also from miles away safely. Healing one is also stupidly OP but this video is about DMG so

This is probably a good time to say that dmg% increases are multiplicative, not additive like critical strike chance. I may be wrong but from what I recall it’s to ensure that dmg% increases aren’t insanely overpowered

also, the last prism IS the zenith for mages. just easier to get (a drop from moonlord) and also the last prisim is the most OP thing in the game by far besides the zenith.
