- Assetto Corsa Competizione has really been trying my patience lately! Trying to reach the end of a race in Low Fuel Motorsport’s Coach Dave GT3 Sprint is a challenge in itself… I’m losing count of the number of races I’ve been wiped out in.
I’m trying to persevere, so today I’m back on LFM for this week’s ACC race at the Nürburgring. It’s one of my favourite tracks, so I was hoping for better luck. But maybe I was being a little too optimistic…

Sometimes I celebrate a top 5. Sometimes I celebrate a top 15. Sometimes I celebrate by getting out of the car, kissing the ground and thanking the sim racing gods I survived! This was one of those occasions 🤣

I’m curious to know what half the field were up to! 🤣 But yeah, that BMW started the carnage off quite spectacularly at the start. And then it carried on from there. Thanks for watching, hopefully the next one will have more racing and less wreck-avoidance 🤞

Wow driving standards are properly embarrassing there. Weaving and jerking around on the opening lap is nuts! Well done on surviving it and then on such a strong finish!
Yeah, it started with that BMW weaving down the start straight and bouncing off cars before we’d even got to T1, and continued from there. Really poor… I keep trying my best to persevere with ACC, but it’s hard. At the moment, over the previous month or so, I’d say my lap 1 success rate is 70% wrecked, 30% survived. Which isn’t very good at all. Hardly makes me excited to race when there’s a 70% chance I’m not going to get through lap one! You’re not even safe if you qualify at the front, judging by this race!
@@chrisrogerssimracingI was equally frustrated with ACC on LFM. Doing the 45min races and GT4 helped a lot. The racing is miles better there.
The Sprint Series seems by far the worst of all

Great driving, as usual 😉. Have you notice the cilipping you having on turns? Maybe lower ffb a little bit? Can help a lot when tires start to fail...
Thanks for this, I had no idea FFB clipping was even a thing! Just read a couple of bits online about it, so I will try my next run with lower settings… just to see if it helps make it feel better. Thanks!

Thank you mate. I’m always up against it in ACC… I’m not as experienced in it as other sims, so I have to rely on others crashing (and hope they don’t take me out with them) 🤣

Haha yeah it’s not a glowing advertisement, is it! I keep trying to persevere with ACC, thinking it will get better. But somehow, it still manages to get worse!
1st lap driving standards was a final race BTCC event! Good driving, good race.
Haha yeah you’re not wrong! The standards seem to be getting worse, either that or I’m getting even more unlucky with the lobbies I’m landing in!
@@chrisrogerssimracing i'm only just getting into ACC properly even though i've had it for a while. The cars feel alot more physical to drive and abit more raw compared to iR in my opinion. Very much enjoying trying to get up to speed on it.
@@ThomasRaceEngineering I’ve never truly warmed to it. It looks fantastic, but I can’t get used to how the cars feel. To me, it almost feels like I’m gliding and I can’t feel the car gripping the track. It’s probably because I’m missing out on the best of it by not working on the setups. ACC does seem like a sim that rewards time spent on fine-tuning setups. Sim time is limited for me, so I’m very much a ‘hop in, hop out’ racer using the default setups.

Very stressful! I just tried to stay as wide as possible, and keep an extra bit of distance between me and the cars in front. Anything after that was just pure luck 🤣

Good race Chris....I did some practice laps on Sunday for a couple of hours. I can only can manage 1:58.9's. If I'm not to tired after work I'll try and get in a race tonight.
Good luck if you do, Terry. Being tired might not be the best for this combo… it seems you need to be very awake to avoid the cars crashing from all angles 🤣 Let me know how you get on.

Chris, the race was a nightmare. I didn't know it was going to be a night race and because of that my car was like stranger to me. No front grip, the back end wanted to send me too the hospital and I got taken out twice.....and my fast lap, I only can manage a 2:00.3 finishing P17
LFM ain’t the same like the beginnings. Now every pub driver is in it. Actually CP races are much better now since bad drivers moved to LFM
That’s a good point, I may try the in-game servers again. I had quite a few bad experiences in those, which is why I ended up trying LFM. But the clean races do seem to be becoming less and less. Which means my rating keeps dropping. Which means I’m landing in lower splits where the standard is worse! It’s a vicious circle that I can’t escape from 😂
@@chrisrogerssimracing same man, I’m actually GOLD license worth not more not less, Split 2 is my place for same pace racing but noooooooo I become Split 4-5-6 because of crashes always and then bad end position or DNF. And here and then some game crashes 😂
So yeah what can I say. Hope SOMEDAY there will be a real system that sorts the bad drivers out. With bad I mean bad and not mistakes because we all do mistakes but crashing on straight etc are dumb mistakes and bad driver

I’ve got a Bronze licence now mate. Graduated from rookies a while ago but this was a fairly low split (split 4 of 6 I think). Glad you enjoyed it, despite the carnage 😂
it is such a shame you cannot find regular evening slots as there are much better alternatives to LFM out there.. but once you picked your way through the wreckage it became a pretty good drive for you, good job sir
Yeah my patience was wearing a little thin after these races! I’m not finding it much fun at the moment. I’ll DM you separately about exploring some other race options out there 👍
Great second race , and great result ! But as you said, LFM is becoming more and more embarrasing. Simracing goal should not be to survive.
LFM should manage some strong decisions. Maybe every race should be analysed, and every incident in the first two lap should lead to immediate ban for three months at least.
If they can not, They should ask for some help from the simracing community to look at replays, and/or select a lot more who can enter the races.
I lost personally some motivation after just 6 races (plus looking at videos like yours which are very informative regarding the all situation).
I could myself survive pretty well on track , but I don't really enjoy the all thing.
It is a shame, because LFM is really a good platform. Thanks to them
Yeah, this wasn’t a great experience at all. You’re exactly right… survival shouldn’t be the sole sign of achievement! But that’s how it feels right now. I really don’t want to criticise LFM - after all, it doesn’t matter who organises a race, because the standard will always be the responsibility of the 20-30 drivers on the grid. But I am getting a bit disheartened by it. It’s not much fun, at the moment. And I’m in sim racing for the enjoyment.

LFM is a wonderful platform, and of course I will keep myself racing on it when I manage to find some time.
But with such wreck fest at almost every race, I will not for sure invest a lot of time preparing the race (which is for me another part of the pleasure).
It means that I will not be not as much competitive as I could be (which will for sure not help me !!).
LFM should try to recruit 100 , maybe 200 guys who would accept to have a look at replay from all races systematically (I mean maybe 2 or three races per week), and then report the incident for a strong ban if needed (big incident in first laps).
I am pretty there would be some volonteer.
I know it is easier said as organised, but it is just that something should be really made if we want to have a clean racing on a wonderful platform like LFM
Hope this doesn't come across as badly, just constructive feedback! You'd be so much faster and easier on tyres if you start trail braking into corners opposed to the traditional brake release turn method, also try not to just slam the brakes on hard as fast as you can, it really unsettles car shocking the brakes and chassis like that! Aside from that great driving especially considering the quality of driving in LFM as of late! 🤣🤙
Ahh mate, not at all, I love constructive feedback! ACC is the sim I’m worst at, and it’s for the exact reasons you describe. Too aggressive, trying to over-drive the car. I am aware I’m doing it, but fall into bad habits because I always jump between sims. ACC certainly does reward a smoother driving style, whereas other sims don’t so much. So I’ve just gotta remember which one I’m driving in 😂 thanks for watching!
Very poor thinking by the Bentley at the beginning. He was trying to take the racing line with no braking when the Lamborghini was on the inside line and certainly had to brake. 100% should’ve backed out and tried to overtake on the straight with the better exit. Very unfortunate that your race was ended by his mistake. Sorry Chris!

Thank you mate. Yeah it never fails to surprise me how drivers try to treat lap one like it’s a hot lap. It’s like, they’re determined to hit their hot lap braking points, whether there are cars in front or not! As for my setup, just a standard single monitor and a foldaway seat (the Playseat Challenge) that I set up at my work desk. It’s very basic!
And I thought LFM was a safe online option 😂

I've noticed on a few of your ACC vids that your FFB meter is in the red a lot..Being new to ACC I was under the impression that this was a no no ?
Hi, good spot, and yes you’re absolutely right! I had no idea about the FFB meter but several people alerted me to it. I’ve recently made a few settings changes (did a short vid on it a couple of weeks ago) and so far it’s made a huge difference!

Yeah, it was very poor indeed. Most of my ACC races have been disasters over the past month or so, but this one was the worst yet. Thankfully I survived the first lap on my second attempt, but it was close. Really hope I get better lobbies for my future races 🤞 Cheers for watching
@@chrisrogerssimracing I like the look of RF2 races better, I’m without a PC just now, but I will head towards the LFM RF2 races should they get the “go ahead” after this initial beta test.
@@richardsracingmad Yeah I’m enjoying the rF2 races way more. To be honest, ACC is my least favourite sim. I’ve never really enjoyed it that much, but I keep plugging away at it - for the sake of variety, and also to try and give it a proper chance to win me over. It hasn’t done yet!
