Penei Sewell is absolutely Detroit's MVP, but if the league could give out Co-MVP, Monty and Gibbs combined would be in with a strong shot I would think.
I'm glad you realize how games are won and lost in the trenches! I never heard of most of the players mentioned but certainly appreciate the overlooked ones being deservingly acknowledged.
While Chris Jones is a good pick for the Chiefs, I would say there is an argument for Joe Thuney. The best LG in the NFL, he also filled in to great effect at LT after that position was a leaking sieve all year. When they moved Thuney to LT, the passing game opened way up and the Chiefs finally started looking like their scary selves again.
Chiefs defense performed the best it has all year against the Steelers with Jones on the sideline. I agree about Thuney. But considering the Chiefs didn't have one WR get a single Pro Bowl vote, it tells you the obvious answer.
As a rams fan Jared Verse is our best defensive player but he is not our MVP. This year the only reason we were able to recover from a 1-4 start was because we had Kyren Williams. Later in the season I would say Puka but I think Kyren is our MVP.
I only disagree on your pick for Philly because Saquan was generationally good this season. Otherwise, good picks. I probably would've went Pat Surtain over Nik Bonitto but fair's fair there.
I have so many problems with this. It seems like at some points, dark horse candidates were the choice, instead of most likely. For starters, Josh Hines Allen didn’t even have as good a year as Travon walker. Not a biggie. Nik bonito had an awesome year! I love the guy. He’s not our team mvp. He had games where he seemingly didn’t show up. Patrick Surtain is a blanket,or curtain, on defense . He is nfl DPOY for a reason. And the sentiment about no one on offense is BS. Quinn meinerz is a first team all pro for a reason. He’s an absolute anchor at right guard. Chris jones had an off year. 5 sacks is weak. Joe thuney is team mvp. Lamar Jackson is team mvp. He had possibly the best QB season of all time. 4000 yards, 40 tds, and 900 rushing yards?! That blows my mind! One could argue burrow over chase, but it’s too close to decide either way.
I may have been a little starry eyed at some of Bonitto's "wow" plays. Surtain is a great pick. And yes, it was wrong to indirectly have taken a shot at Meinerz. He's my kinda dude, mid-round small schooler who made it in the league. Thuney isn't a bad pick at all as I stated in a different reply. I love Lamar's numbers, but I truly think Henry's presence made those numbers. It's not a coincidence that's he's never done anything quite like this before. It was close, but I went with Henry. No diss to Lamar he's obviously stupid good at football.
I think calling the Panthers the worst team in the league is a bit harsh considering how competitive they were in losses against good teams down the stretch, but I can accept it. That said, I think it's a bit off base to not give their MVP to Chuba Hubbard. He's the entire reason they won the games they did.
Not picking joe burrow for the bengals or Lamar for the ravens is absolutely criminal. QB is a little overrated sure but how are you not going to give team mvp to Lamar when he had some of the greatest regular season stats of all time? It seems like an attempt to be different lol
I don’t mean to be rude but for Baltimore it really sounds like you just want to pick Derrick Henry to be different. Take a look at his career yards before contact stats year by year, and you’ll see that Lamar Jackson is the one largely responsible for his resurgence. Lamar’s gravity is a part of his game that can’t be overlooked, and Henry would be the first to tell you that. I get that it’s cool to pick non-QBs but when a QB has a season like Lamar did this year, you kinda have to just stop overthinking it and go with the QB. Lamar’s numbers were historically good this year, even compared to past MVP winning QBs. Just to be clear I love Derrick Henry, this isn’t meant as an attack against him, but rather an endorsement for Lamar Jackson.
I believe the drop off when Tua is out comes from their backups being so atrocious. If they had a decent, or maybe even a functional backup, it would look much better.
I get that it’s trendy to hate on QBs, but there’s no question that Lamar and Burrow are far more valuable to their teams than their weapons. You must not watch a lot of football if you believe this. There’s a reason QBs win the MVP. A good QB will always be more valuable to a team than a good receiver, running back, OL, DL, CB, LB…. you name it. I am all for giving great players their credit, but we must remain tethered to reality, CCC
Trendy? All football analysis revolves around the QB. Every graphic for every game displays the QB. The QB is always given credit for a win, even if you're Mac Jones and only throw three passes in a game. The QB gets credit for a 4th quarter comeback even if all he does is hand off. The NFL itself advertises games as QB matchups: Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning instead of the Patriots vs. the Colts. QB is the only position in football, the ultimate team sport, that often has nothing to do on a play when he hands off, while every other position is active. Not to mention modern day rules have made the position so easy that even Sam Darnold can be a Pro Bowler. Jim Plunkett (rode along for two Super Bowls, was mostly terrible), Vinny Testaverde, Tim Couch, David Carr, Jamarcus Russell, Sam Bradford are a few #1 overall picks who failed because they had no support (although in Russell's case it was also self-inflicted). Never mind other first rounders. Well more often, a great team makes a quarterback than a good quarterback makes a team.
@ Those are all fair points, and to be clear, I’m not saying it’s the only position. I am, however, saying that a good QB has more ability to elevate the play of those around them than the other positions do individually. A good QB needs a good O line, absolutely. But a guy like Joe Burrow can still deliver the ball on time more often than not when behind a terrible unit. Take Jayden Daniels for example. He’s completely elevated that offense, and he makes that receiving corps look significantly better than actually is. And look at Lamar. Having Henry on his team is *obviously* a major help and makes his job much easier. But the same can be said for the inverse. Playing with Lamar allows Henry more room to have breakaway runs. When he was in Tennessee, he faced by far more loaded boxes than any other back, since his QB was either Ryan Tannehill or Josh Dobbs fresh off of Nasa research. Lamar adds value to his game by taking some of that pressure away from him, and his dynamic ability as a runner adds an even greater dimension to that offense. So while I agree that football is the ultimate team sport, I do believe that QBs are correctly given the credit when it is due. Emphasis on the “when it is due” part. Obviously Darnold isn’t the best player on the Vikings, as he’s had his best year on easily the most stacked team he’s ever played with. But you can’t tell me he adds absolutely no value to his team, or that he doesn’t in some way help guys like Jefferson, Addison, or Hockenson. It’s a two way street, and I do think QBs are more impactful than you’ve given them credit for in this video. I may have come off as more charged in my comment than I was meaning to. At the end of the day, you have your own opinions on the sport, and I have mine. That’s why channels like these are great, as we get a chance to debate the game we love.
Great choices. I wouldn't argue with 31 of them. Really sound choices. But really, you overlook Saquon Barkley, 2000 yards yet choose Derek Henry for Baltimore? You are.right.to choose an offensive player.from Baltimore, the defense wasn't great often. But if Henry wins, then so does Saquon. That sort.of production is.historically significant. Zach Baum has been good, but hardly.historic
I guess I’ll forget the thousands of experts over the years who said the QB is the most important position in sports, jk, I can’t get through 2 minutes of this boring 🥱 🗑️ How do expect anyone to take you seriously when you didn’t pick Saquon for the Eagles, Burrow for the Bengals, Lamar for the Ravens, just to name a few. Why are the Panthers the worst team when they were winning games the second half of the season? They almost beat the Eagles and the Chiefs. Sorry to sound like a dick. Nothing personal
Nah, ya didn't sound like a dick. All criticism is valid when presented intelligently. From my behalf, yes, I would forget those "experts." I'm not an echo chamber. Whatever miniscule value I bring is in my alternative viewpoint. QB is the most marketable position in a sport where a vast majority of the players are anonymous inside their helmets, so they get all the publicity. The Henry-Lamar thing was like a 55-45 for me. I got no problem with anyone going for Lamar. Chase-Burrow was closer to 80-20. In fact, I would have selected Trey Hendrickson if I couldn't go with Chase. The Bengals have played from behind a lot this season so yeah Burrow has some good numbers. I'll leave that to fantasy football. This team changed as soon as Chase joined it. Sam Darnold could slide into that offense and hit Chase with short passes. The Panthers were at around -40 in C-Score earlier in the season. Yes, they were better in the second half and their score improved greatly, but there was too much to overcome. Thanks for the comment. I certainly don't take anything you said personally.
This feels like redemption after who the NFL actually gave it to.
they haven't given it out yet, what?
Thank you for your rant at the start of the video! Totally agree!
Video suggestion: best/worst final fours in the Super Bowl era
Penei Sewell is absolutely Detroit's MVP, but if the league could give out Co-MVP, Monty and Gibbs combined would be in with a strong shot I would think.

Why would the bears even consider the idea of trading Caleb Williams? That leaves them no closer to figuring out the QB position
While Chris Jones is a good pick for the Chiefs, I would say there is an argument for Joe Thuney. Thuney would be a perfectly fine selection, as would Creed Humphrey.
As a rams fan Jared Verse is our best defensive player but he is not our MVP. This year the only reason we were able to recover from a 1-4 start was because we had Kyren Williams. Later in the season I would say Puka but I think Kyren is our MVP.

Josh Jacobs has been amazing for the packers. Cooper has my vote even tho he missed some games with injuries.
No real issue with the picks for each team, rather you put the Bucs and Broncos so high on the list.
I think calling the Panthers the worst team in the league is a bit harsh considering how competitive they were in losses against good teams down the stretch, but I can accept it. That wasn't his opinion. It was based on C-Score.
Yes Penei Sewell❤
Wait so Saquon gets snubbed but Henry whos barely used gets mvp!?
Cowboys was brandon Aubrey
Chris Boswell for Pittsburgh
Not picking joe burrow for the bengals or Lamar for the ravens is absolutely criminal. QB is a little overrated sure but how are you not going to give team mvp to Lamar when he had some of the greatest regular season stats of all time? It seems like an attempt to be different lol
Saquon is absolutely the Eagles MVP apart from that I agree on most of your texts
Jags should be BTJ
After the super bowl, will you rank every team by C score?
Yep. I'll have a video ready probably that Wednesday after the game.

Turn the music down
MIA is absolutely nothing without Tua
I believe the drop off when Tua is out comes from their backups being so atrocious. If they had a decent, or maybe even a functional backup, it would look much better.
@cccproductions2019 true lol.
As a Lions fan, there was like 5 players you could've picked. But I 1000% agree that Sewell was the best.

Khalil Mack MVP have you lost your mind? What drugs are you on? No way!!
I am technically on drugs, yes, because I am still working my way through a cold.

Henry got over 1900 yards with a middling OL whereas Saquon got to run behind the best OL in the league.
@bonesawisready2865 in which case, give the mvp to an O lineman
My point remains valid.
No chapters, lame

Derrick Henry deserves the MVP.
