The thing is with dual system building is the processors, some say you need to get matching stepping codes for the system to work, but i found out, using my dual Pentium 3 and my older dual pentium 2, its not the case. If chris removed the chips he may find that this may not have matching codes either.

With 6 cores and 12 threads considered mainstream or even low end today, this must seem quaint to many. But for me, as someone who grew up in the 90s dreaming of multi-processor systems i was reading about in magazines, there's still something special about seeing more than one actual socket in a system, even today.
I've got two multi-socket systems in my collection. But unfortunately one is a Sun Fire v40z 3U rack mount dual Opteron server (with room to add two more sockets via a motherboard extension) that's too big and noisy to run often and the other is a Sun Ultra 45 workstation which only has one of its two UltraSPARC IIIi sockets populated. :(
I'm happy for you Chris! Enjoy your dual-CPU beast!
(You might also want to try BeOS on it too. That OS was optimized from the get go for multi-processor systems)

cracking system! get a second CD Rom dropped in it, just so you can. Also if you load windows 3.51 on it, you will find it maybe even faster than NT4, You could try and see how VMware works on it, and see about hosting a guest OS. The BIOS i love! i had a early pentium with that bios! you could change the colour of it too, looking at yours i think they may have binned that off. You could drop the board in a full size old server tower, and go to town max it with scsi etc.

    • @RetroTechChris

A little bit too late to this but worth mentioning, it was not until Redhat 7.1 (seawolf) no to be confused with RHEL 7, which came with Kernel 2.4 that both processors were really used properly. kernels prior 2.4 did not scale well with SMP based machines even if you used an mp kernel. by the way I still have a Tyan 1662 soewhere collecting dust, it was pretty good back then if you had a proper PSU to cope with the load of 2 cpus
