- Here's my cover of Jean Michel Jarre's "Oxygene pt. 4"! The song is part of my new "Synthesizer Legends - Volume 1" album, which is available now:

The album features a collection of cover tunes of famous and less well-known instrumental synthesizer gems from the eighties. Some of the songs on the album have been part of my live repertoire for many years already, while other songs are completely new arrangements. The third single from the album is one of the newer arrangements: Jean Michel Jarre's legendary "Oxygene, pt.4." The cover is heavily influenced by the edit of Hipnosis' version used as theme song for the Finnish TV music show in the 80's called "Hittimittari". The music was recorded using only analog synthesizers and analog drum machines:
Roland Alpha Juno 1&2; Jupiter-6; JX-3P; JX-8P; MKS-70; TR-808, Alesis Andromeda A6, Dave Smith Tetra, Hypersynth Xenophone (x2), Jomox AirBase99, Oberheim Matrix-1000, Touched-by-Sound DRM1.
Arranged, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Kebu / Sebastian Teir.

Perfect !👌 ... Jean Michel Jarre is an artist that I have listened to since 1981 and I have listened to all his albums countless times... I can say that this rendition is truly perfect and perfectly develops his albums into a new form that faithfully copies his "handwriting" . Perfect !

@@buggerlugz6753 ...I can partly agree with that. But... Different clones of the original can sometimes make our lives more beautiful. (as well as in this case). However, it will still be true that there will always be only one original. This applies not only in music, but also in film, etc. 🙂

The original composition was already way ahead of its time. "Hypnosis" then made an incredible cover of it with a touch of disco too. You managed to capture it perfectly! Great job!

Kebu you're incredible, I relived these moments of 1976 when I was a kid and my dad put the LP in a loop all day long on his big sound system, I was literally sucked in another world.

Amazing version!!! Totally different from anything else we've heard from other keyboard players... this is definitely one of the best versions of Oxygene 4 I've ever heard
Well, most of the ideas in this version are from the cover song by an Italian pop group Hipnosis, made in the 1980's. 😊 This is an excellent revamp of that cover, though.
