Here is high quality engine oil brands i use and recommend for my cars:
1. amzn.to/3nYAVFh (made in Germany)
2. amzn.to/2J3QrAw (made in Japan)
Does the new headers really change the sound on your car ?
Can I access and remove the driver header nut`s with heat shield on once I remove steering rod
If you have a limited-slip diff of some sort, plus 265-wide tyres should make you not engage traction control due to sheer traction. My Toyota Soarer with a turbo-back exhaust on the 1JZ-GTE with VVT-i with a Torsen diff from a Supra and 275-wide rear COntinental SportContact 3 tyres on a dry road never broke traction in a straight line.
The previous owner put wheels that can't hold any wider tires than 235s therefore it spins a lot
Spetz
Traction control nannies still kick in regardless
@@Highlander1432 Traction control is set off when control unit notes the difference in speed between wheels beyond a certain threshold. If traction isn't lost, the nannies shouldn't kick in.
@@shadowis350 Ah, righto. Lots of Toyotas (and lexus by extension) have wheels too narrow for any performance aspirations. Well, new wheels time then :) 9.5-inch wides should fit in those rear guards. If front can't accommodate, then staggered fitment is fine. 275/35R18 on the back and 245/40R18 on the front should be plenty close to factory to ensure the speedo isn't thrown out ;)
@@Max_Da_G
I agree
Interested in your performance Toyota because we don't have it in the US.
Factory size width for IS350 rear tire is 255 I believe.
Even with my Indy500 summer tires it spins
Nice job! You've got a knack for working on cars. Especially with performance mods. Have you ever considered opening your own shop?
I kinda have home shop right now maybe in future
@@BuiltForSpeed My car has 160k on it, would you still recommend this set up??? I dont wanna destroy the car if you get my drift.....
@@KontrolledKaoz i would just get fsport intake and catback echaust and RR tune i would not do the headers
@@BuiltForSpeed why not headers????? Please elaborate on why not???
@@KontrolledKaoz well the headers first will add more stress to the car and will delete you cats at that mileage idk if i would go through that headache.
Did the engine light come on after installing the headers
What’s your exhaust setup besides the headers
It has a hks catback\axleback exhaust and performance headers for exhaust
Engine light didnt come on
Look up the "pedal dance" for 06 IS350 only
Will turn TC off COMPLETELY
Car is much faster
If you have RR tune why aren't you shifting manually at 7000 rpm ?
That doesn't always work. I have an 06 that wouldn't deactivate traction control even with pedal dance because the ABS module was a V5 instead of V9 like most. But now o got a 07+ (VT) ABS module and I can just hold the button and it deactivates everything a gives a vsc test mode message
@@Danu01c
Was not aware of that
So there are some 06's that cannot turn VSC off completely?
@@Highlander1432 correct. Mine was one of them
@@Danu01cI can’t turn TC off in my 06 is 350. How do i fix that?
@@cashcarter463 if you did the pedal dance and still nothing like mine did, you need the abs module from newer models. I think it was 07+? I can now hold TV button for 5 seconds and it will deactivate completely
Do more exhaust clips
Yes
Does this have a performance midpipe or axle back?
What did you have to move and or remove and necessary tools to remove the old exhaust manifolds and to install the headers?
Steeeing ecu, battery removed the steering joint that hooks from the column to the rack. Its abit of work.
Did you have to remove the steering column. I bought the same box headers lifted the motor and still can't get it in?
Ever install them? Most of the time you have to disconnect the Steering knuckle
We had to remove the steering rod/shaft
Hey man I’m wondering if I need any additional mods before getting my RR tune for my 08 is350
High flow drop in filter and maybe exhaust.
Definitely get the RR intake
It's only like $100
@@Highlander1432 I hope they have it in stock I’ve been looking for a K&N one for a while now and they’ve been out
@@sesh3508
I ordered k&n panel filter from Amazon
RR intake& tune were very good price
You'll need a windows computer also
@@Highlander1432 I also got the K&N filter, no boost in horsepower or anything but the stock one was pretty clogged after 80k miles. It’s nice to know it’s breathing better now
how to did you remove the driver header which is the hardest
Got it through the bottom. You have to remove the steering rod.
Was it hard to remove the bolts from your old headers
Just spray them with wd40 and wait 5min and they come loose.
@@BuiltForSpeed l baught the obx headers for awd because my car is awd...I hope they work...because they also came with a 2nd gen IS midpipe...and i have a 3rd gen IS...but I think 2006 through 2019 have the same headers
@@danielbudimir8519 unbolting is easy but taking them out and putting them in is hard
@@shadowis350 thanks for the response. I had the Lexus dealer do it. Do they need to be tightened again 🤔.
@@danielbudimir8519 I don't know I never did
how did you remove the passenger header
remove the steering module and battery...
You just need better tires.. Get some Grip man! It'll be way faster with better tires & Traction control completely off
Where can I buy the extension? For my 16’ IS300 AWD
U can look up lexus O2 sensor extensions on google it'll show
Hesitant to get these OBX headers because of this very reason.
Fitment
Misalignment
Missing hardware (o2 extension should have been included)
I agree alignment on one is abit off to the exhaust part and the extensions for sure should of been.
@@BuiltForSpeed
It is encouraging to see you completed the install.
OBX is a much more reasonably priced header than the competitor.
I’m about the get the two piece headers off eBay because I need something cheaper and not expensive 😭. Because I’m also buying a new 🐈⬛ back, hopefully it works
@@350Carmine
The OBX setup ?
Post after you're done and let folks know how it is
@@Highlander1432 I got the obx the performance is the same but the fitment to theid pipe isn't the best . .... My Lexus in the video btw
Power mode is slower.
Sport mode is because it breaks tires loose. Power mode isn't slower it wakes the car up to rev higher.

People run faster acceleration tests in D with Power off. My bone stock, 100,300 mile 2010 hit 60mph in 5.0s flat and did the 8th in 8.7x using a friend's dragy early morning 55-60 degrees. Slowest was 5.3 and 8.9. All I did was lower rear pressure to 26 or 27psi (just above whatever the warning light is), hold revs at 1200-1500, 1/3 tank of non ethanol (all I run).
@@ruthnoya8424 negative, it runs faster in S mode, just make sure to launch from 2nd gear, not first. Clublexus forums has plenty of information Sport mode is better with traction off.
@@ruthnoya8424I did the 1/8 in 8.7 seconds as well
