Great work man. There are less people out there who provide this type of vital information. People are blindly marketing any information but there are some like you, who corrects them. Well done
My necks been locked up in one side for about 4 years. I went to the Chiro and he helped me get it to where I can stretch it and avoid any pinched nerve. I used one of these for 3 days and my neck is free. Also freed up my upper hip lower back area.
Thankyou so much it was very informative & i can immediately see the changes in my lower back. Earlier i too was doing as per the ads but wasnt feeling any difference in the lower back pain but just by doing once as you showed i feel a huge difference in my lower back pain. It has reduced the pain immediately. Thanks once again.
It's a pleasure, it is funny that they don't give good advice with the marketing material! probably loosing out on a fair few customers & good reviews! (you're not the first person to say this)
Thanks for the advice. The reason I bought this is I suffer from sciatica and have for most of my adult life and it is causing me a lot of discomfort and pain which is affecting my life.
Thank you so much for doing this! I’ve been using it for a week and had an insane lower back pain on my disc area, now I realized the positioning was totally wrong as you mentioned. So thanks!

Bought a back stretcher for middle back pain due to posture problems , works well for me immediate relief. Never used it for more than a minute just in case.
Absolutely brilliantly presented. . This man knows his stuff. Like others no instructions provided when bought the product. Mine is a lower back problem so its makes sense the way you described issues people have with it. Thank you so much. Just need to build up the core muscles now.

Thanks for the great advice. I have been using my back stretcher for T12 L1 issues and it has helped a lot, however I was getting on and off incorrectly. So thank you for that great tip. It's also great to change position and stretch my lumber region as you have shown. Also I love your awesome socks 🧦 👍🏻🥰
It's a pleasure :) glad you found the video helpful. yeah using it to also help that lower lumbar level will be handy long term :D Glad the socks made an impression too :D
I'm 23 years old and I've had sciatica pain down my left leg since I was 17 because of sports and physical activities. Now since I was 19 I work and Blue Collar Job and lift all day. I got the Acemands Back strecher and in three days my pain is completely gone. It was definitely a little painful when I first did it but slowly got easier and easier. Back is still a little sore but it gets better everyday. I haven't felt this good in along time and it's amazing. If your considering getting one do it, its only $20 and I feel great. It's worth a shot.

11:59 I have had extremely lower back pain for over 3 months. I have been in the emergency room 3 times it started with a kidney infection and I was treated and my lower part of my back kept me from doing anything…. I am a pastors wife and I couldn’t even go to church because my back hurts so bad . I was informed that my bladder was not emptying from the first CAT scan that I had so I was informed to go to a urologist. It took me about three weeks to get to see an urologist during that time I was in a lot of pain. Spent days in the bed. I then had a catheter put in and was told I had to wear it for 4 weeks … I cried the first week solid… I went back to the emergency room two more trips …I called and begged them to get me in a week earlier if there was a cancellation and they did that was today. They did several test and an ultrasound ,did a scope and could see nothing wrong inside at all wrong. He suggested that I see a back doctor because it might be a pinched nerve and it is causing some problems with my bladder . And another nightmare I have to use a catheter four times a day to empty my bladder…. I did a lot of praying on the way home. I remembered having the back magic thing and thought I will try that I don’t know what else to do it’s a holiday so I’ve got to wait to get into see another doctor. I came home and found it and did it but of course I did it wrong and the Lord blessed me to Google and there you were explaining the right way how to do it I praise God for you and I will try to keep you informed to let you know if this helps me. I just feel like the Lord open the door for me to see this video to help me to know what to do may God bless you for the time that you have taken to explain the right and wrong way to use it. I have subscribed.and look forward to seeing more of your videos. And I will try to keep you informed. May God bless you 😊with Christian love, thank you Sherry.
So long as you've had the kidney and bladder stuff ruled out, its best to work on building back up your lower back, check out the program on our website with that and the support in the membership you should find it helps you tremendously! - the link to the site: backinshapeprogram.com
My back hurts right behind my rib where you say most don't have issues I have always thought that was lower back sometimes it hurts lower but it constantly hurts right below the Middle where you pointed at top of green section
I have almost the exact same one you used in this video.. is there a way to use this for the upper back/shoulders or neck? That's one of my problems areas ... besides the lowest part of it back... thank you for your time.. this video should have 50x more views
I think realistically you probably could use it for the upper back but the neck it's just too big. To be honest you'd be better off using a rolled towel for the upper back and neck :)
I have one with bumps and use it to treat the whole of my back when on holiday. I just reposition on it . For use at home I have a heavier and longer wooden one which reaches all of my spine. Couldn't do without either of them.
I've used a similar product, and, while I get relief while I'm in the correct position, once I am done, I still only get about 5 minutes of relief from my pain.
These things unfortunately do not fix the underlying issue, for that you need to be doing the right sort of rehabilitative work, which so often people are not. (according to what we see) - if you need help with your back check out the program on the website: backinshapeprogram.com
Hi nice video and very well explained. I have a question I had surgery on the lower back L5 S1 47 years ago and I am now a carrier of a neurostimulator for my lower back place l5 s1 there is also an electrode on my lower back, now my question is can I also use a back extensor? I still suffer from sciatica in my lower back. Greetings from Billy from Belgium
Sorry to hear about the neurostimulator Billy. we've had a couple of patients with those over the years and i would suggest to do so with caution, perhaps having a conversation with your surgeon to be double sure. Fundamentally if you would be happy adopting that position then it would be likely that it would be ok, and if you would feel nervous about that position (thinking about the wires) then do not. But the best option is to double check with your physician and/or the team that install the neurostimulators.
fundamentally alongside a good rehabilitation program it would be a good counter for the rounding that we put on our backs on a daily basis. To be honest though I'd say you're best of starting out with a towel before spending the money on the stretcher :) check out the video on the homepage of our youtube channel - that routine is a good starting place :)
I really have a bad posture and cannot arch my back fully. Im a doctor but never actually have my back properly examined by an expert. Is it normal to actually have a progressive pain in the lower back when i do the stretch? Will it go away slowly as i routinely stretch? Also since my back cannot arch fully i really put my weight on the upper back and neck and it doesnt feel nice, so i put a pillow under my neck. Appreciate all your help in the video 👐
There's quite a lot there, but we would say work on using a smaller rolled towel instead - it is normal for people to experience some discomfort especially if you've had back issues for a while
Thank you very much for this video. Great to finally understand how to use the device properly. Do you have any advice about using it for the upper back? Is that even possible/healthy?
To be honest, i think it's a little extreme for the upper/mid back, for anyone that's stiff in this region seeing images of hyperflexible gymnasts folding back over it is just unrealistic. You can use a smaller rolled towel there but working on your posture is going to be a necessary option as well - this video might well be helpful: th-cam.com/video/5KlfeFeXjHo/w-d-xo.html
Really you want to focus on strengthening work & your posture - we have a free back health masterlcass on the channel and of course if you need more help check out the website membership: backinshapeprogram.com
Extremely helpful piece of advise and real world demonstration made all the difference..I was so frustrated with my L5/S1 ddd and pain and no real help..I was able to do very small cracksound with pelvic tilt but after watching your video today and only thing I had in house was a bathroom drain pipe 10.5 cm diameter (1mtr long) on immediate basis...I put in under my L5/S1 and nothing happened but then I rolled a bit and audible crack sound..woohoo what a relief..:-) Question now is how often I shall crack my back? Twice daily?? Bec Dr say that nucleus pulposis absorb water in the night when we lay-down for sleep...so definitely want to do it before sleep time and also wanna do it after i come from a walk (this is when I usually get too much of pain)..
thank you for the kind comment. If you are still struggling with the back pain then you really want to be working on proper rehabilitation exercises (you can visit our website for more information: backinshapeprogram.com ) The clicking of your own back isn't a major issue (however done repeatedly and incorrectly this can be unwise) but more importantly, the clicking isn't really doing anything to solve the underlying issue - you're generally just releasing the facet joints to get the pop sound. I do hope that helps!
@@BackInShapeProgram you are right because now using foam roller for some days and I realize its not solving issue except only some momentous relief..following your youtube videos..very helpful. Many Thanks
It's a pleasure Alana :D glad it was helpful! the dismount is so important as last thing you want is to somewhat undo the good you've done on the thing!
Thank you so much for posting this. I've been struggling with just walking lately because of my lower back pain (the muscles start to tighten and spasm if I walk even a short distance) so I ordered myself a back stretcher hoping it will help. I would have completely done it the wrong way if I hadn't found your video. Once again thank you in advance.
no problem at all Marcella, Do check out the program on our website as this will certainly help you with your back pain. The stretching of course is one part but people often get caught out either doing the wrong strengthening exercises or not doing strengthening at all. :) here's a link to the website: backinshapeprogram.com/
do we need to have our knees bent and stretched for this and the towel? or does it matter if we place our knees and legs flat? Thanks for the great help!
It's a pleasure, personally i like having the legs bent - definitely best when you. first start it, but some people find that they like it with the legs straight too - just know if you have some L5/S1 issues, it can be less pleasant with the legs straight.
Can you make your own stretcher. These devices are expensive and it’s a relatively simple design. What can you use to replace these devices? I’m using ice for about 5 minutes a few times a day but it’s very temporary relief.
Definitely check out the program at backinshapeprogram.com - the towel is what we always recommend (we briefly touched on this at the end of this video) the towels are free to use too :D
It is a little confusing to call it wrong position, then preface IF you have lower back pain only. For those using to improve back/spine mobility and unload spine I assume a little higher position or even moving from lower to mid back would be ideal?
I think it is fundamentally only really a useful tool for low back - granted some might find they like to use it for mid back but the thoracic spine will not mould to that shape on account of the ribs to say the least.
We would suggest the device is just too much for the thoracic spine - too extreme, instead using a rolled towel makes more sense - here's a quick video on it. th-cam.com/users/shortsBE3SFmebHvc
Great video - new subscriber. These are heavily marketed across Amazon, thank you for sharing the perils. My lower back issues are due to excessive lordosis and has seized up playing golf this weekend. Would a device like this help or hinder my situation?
Thanks Anthony, Glad you found the video helpful! In short usage done correctly it is likely to be helpful for most, but we would personally suggest a towel is sufficient. your can read more about the full exercises that we'd recommend on our website - by the way the Phase 1 will help you given the current issue - backinshapeprogram.com/join-free/ for more info. There are also 3 other videos that will be relevant to you and hopefully help you further: 1) Longer Video on Lordosis (30 minutes) th-cam.com/video/lCTEEaqDUX4/w-d-xo.html 2) Shorter video on lordosis (10 mins) th-cam.com/video/BdWXVWlcx_Y/w-d-xo.html&t 3) Golf & back pain Video (20 minutes) th-cam.com/video/Cqh9z6l24kI/w-d-xo.html
Sorry, I'm not sure about this. I've used a back stretcher for years and only use it as advised but on the lowest setting. I find its enough to give my back a gentle stretch out, and saved me from taking time off work on quite few occasions
If you want massage then do not get this - this is not for massage - but if you have a back problem then you need to do proper rehab :) like the kind of stuff in our program. backinshapeprogram.com
You might find this video interesting on just that - backinshapeprogram.com/2022/11/do-back-stretchers-work-for-back-pain/ Plus of course you have the teeter table (we have a video on that too) and IDD therapy which would be the gold standard - which we also have a video on :D
@@verrettjared Its a pleasure, you might find the combo helpful as some of the other brands of inversion don't always have the back arch support - the neck one should be good though - we spend too much time on smartphones these days!

Really good imformative and very easy to understand.excellent video thankyou

Great Video and explanation. I will be adjusting my position now. Anyone out there with lower back pain get on the back&shape program it works.
Thanks so much for the endorsement Terry! the slight tweak just makes such a massive difference to make the thing benefit your lower lumbar spine :D
He suggested that I see a
back doctor because it might be a pinched nerve and it is causing some problems with my bladder .
I’ve got one on it’s way thanks I’m more confidant in it working cheers
Its a pleasure :)
Very informative, I've been using mine the wrong way...Thank you.
no problem Paul, it is common becuase i think the guidance is a little off when it comes to the companies that sell these :/ for low back pain anyway.
Thank you, you probably saved me from damaging myself 🙏
Great to hear it was helpful :)
Yes I figured that out on my own.
Awesome :)
Can this be used for piriformis syndrome?
Great demonstration and good advice. I use a towel sometimes which is much easier on the back but I also do stretches which help a lot.
That's awesome, the towel is what we always recommend to our members, and you must be doing strengthening work alongside this for long term results :)
Right so mine has arrived I’ve tried it but it hurts when I straighten my legs I can see now I should bend the knees I’ll go again cheers
Yeah, don't straighten the legs :) hope it helped.
@@BackInShapeProgram I seems to help but it’s only day one really fingers crossed
Thanks for the video. Do you know if this can help with Sciatica?
fundamentally alongside a good rehabilitation program it would be a good counter for the rounding that we put on our backs on a daily basis.
There's quite a lot there, but we would say work on using a smaller rolled towel instead - it is normal for people to experience some discomfort especially if you've had back issues for a while
Excellent Advice. Thank you very much for your expertise. Sue
It’s a pleasure :)
Amazing! I knew I was using it wrong somehow. And you have to involve your core into it! Amazing perfectly explained earned a sub!
Thanks for the support, glad you found it helpful!
Thanks for the precise information
Its a pleasure :)
Excellent video. Terrific advice and a great help in enabling me to use a back stretcher. Seems to be helping me to ease some lumbar stenosis pain
Thanks for the kind words, glad to hear you found it helpful :)
Thank you for sharing your ideas. By the way, is this device able to correct scoliosis? Thanks!
Its a pleasure, It might have some benefit from a lower lumbar scoliosis but it's not really designed for that unfortunately.
Oh thank you for this video, i've been using it wrong. I feel more comfortable now. 😊
NO problem, glad you found it helpful - it's unfortunately an easy mistake to make given the images you see on places like instagram!
This channel should have had millions of sub
Thanks for the kind words :D we're working on it!
Could you please let me know what should I do if I have both - lumbar and thoracic pain?
Really you want to focus on strengthening work & your posture - we have a free back health masterlcass on the channel and of course if you need more help check out the website membership: backinshapeprogram.com

Thank you so much for doing this video Very Helpful 😊
It’s a pleasure :)
Makes so much sense, thank you.
Tanks for the kind comment :)
Makes complete sense. Matt the pilates teacher.
Thanks a lot matt :)
Extremely helpful piece of advise and real world demonstration made all the difference..I was so frustrated with my L5/S1 ddd and pain and no real help..I was able to do very small cracksound with pelvic tilt but after watching your video today and only thing I had in house was a bathroom drain pipe 10.5 cm diameter (1mtr long) on immediate basis...I put in under my L5/S1 and nothing happened but then I rolled a bit and audible crack sound..woohoo what a relief..:-)
Question now is how often I shall crack my back?
Many Thanks
@@sunilsharma-ck6vh thanks for the kind words and it is great to see that you've been finding the videos we do helpful :)
Thank you for being so thorough with your explanation. Really appreciate it

Now this video was useful! Thanks for showing the bridge movement to mount and dismount. That has been very helpful!
It's a pleasure Alana :D glad it was helpful! the dismount is so important as last thing you want is to somewhat undo the good you've done on the thing!
I’m going to try this. Would I lay my legs flat or bend them how you had it in the video?
Bend the legs, having the legs outstretched can be problematic for many :)
Thanks for explaining it in detail. That is surely gonna help a lot.
It's a pleasure. glad it was helpful!
@@BackInShapeProgram Thank you very much I will follow this program. Much appreciated.

I was looking into getting one of these and I appreciate the explanation! I did get one of those neck pillow things
Great to hear you found it handy, the neck ones are pretty good ☺️
Phenomenal presentation.. I truly appreciate that you went over every aspect to use this device correctly and that can benefit us physically
thank you
thank you for the kind words, it means a lot :) glad it was helpful!
do we need to have our knees bent and stretched for this and the towel? or does it matter if we place our knees and legs flat? Thanks for the great help!
It's a pleasure, personally i like having the legs bent - definitely best when you. first start it, but some people find that they like it with the legs straight too - just know if you have some L5/S1 issues, it can be less pleasant with the legs straight.
Amazing video its really helpful .thank you soomuch.
It's a pleasure
What if you have thoracic spine issues? How/where would you place such device? 😊
There are also 3 other videos that will be relevant to you and hopefully help you further:

Sorry, I'm not sure about this. I've used a back stretcher for years and only use it as advised but on the lowest setting. I find its enough to give my back a gentle stretch out, and saved me from taking time off work on quite few occasions
Good to hear it has helped you :)
Excellent video
Thanks :)
Please respond
I am really confused should i buy this one or back roller exerciser which one should i buy to have good massage of my back and neck?
If you want massage then do not get this - this is not for massage - but if you have a back problem then you need to do proper rehab :) like the kind of stuff in our program. backinshapeprogram.com
This guy is Brilliant!!!!
Hope you found the video helpful :)
Can you show how to use it for upper back stretch?
We generally recommend using a towel for the upper back version - this is too strong.
Very weel done and logical video... But how strange you are the only one using the back stretcher this way?
Thanks for the kind words. There could be many reasons i suppose.
Thank you very much for making the video. Very informative and clear demonstration

Do you have a suggestion for a better device or way to Stretch the lower back
You might find this video interesting on just that - backinshapeprogram.com/2022/11/do-back-stretchers-work-for-back-pain/ Plus of course you have the teeter table (we have a video on that too) and IDD therapy which would be the gold standard - which we also have a video on :D
@Back In Shape Program I have an inversion table, not teeter though. And I went ahead and just purchased the backstretcher and the neck stretcher.
@@BackInShapeProgram Thank you for the reply it means a lot
@@verrettjared Nice :)
@@verrettjared Its a pleasure, you might find the combo helpful as some of the other brands of inversion don't always have the back arch support - the neck one should be good though - we spend too much time on smartphones these days!
