This is the only bike i've seen in a long time that i'd seriously consider swapping to if my current bike suddenly disintegrated. Great blend of beautiful retro looks, sportiness, and useability/practicality.
Yamaha hit it out of the park with the styling on this one. It's like Nissan had actually produced their 510 concept from ~15 years ago. It looks especially good with the bottom fairing.
You can wax nostalgic for eras before you were born. That's the case for me. I love the 500cc 2 stroke era of bike racing and I love the way this bike looks
I absolutely love it (but only in red and white) I have a Ducati F1 and love this era of bike aesthetics, well done Yamaha I will buy one of these eventually.
Stunning bike. Where can I find the original video in the original language (whatever that might be)? Watching this with the voiceover not matching the lips is a little weird.
ive owned 2 XSR900s I love them,..with S23's on these bikes are great fun..really punchy engine. and you can lay it on the floor on the bends.. I want one of these gp versions
I hope the ergornomics are the same as the regular XSR 900. I like the white one with the full fairing. and thankfully it looks like they got rid of the plastic going between the front of the seat and the gas tank. I'm still not sure about that seat design though and that big chunky back part which looks even bigger and chunkier with the plastic box over it. but overall it's a really nice bike. I don't know why they don't put something attractive over the exhaust box. because unlike other riders I would not put a loud pipe on it. ( I hate these Ai voice overs ) it's not a car it's a bike.
It is a beauty but Yamaha are taking the p155 ! With the price of the lower fairing. This is obviously the test bed for the R9. Just hope the pricing of the R9 is somewhat realistic, being that it should come with a lower fairing.
@@JoeStanek-vu7rl Did Yamaha themselves ever announce it officially? We’ve only heard about the trademark and supersport team principal talking about racing the R9 next year. Altough I dont even understand how they could race the CP3 engine in that championship since to my understanding it breaks the rules.
This is only the second bike I absolutely love the look of, and it nearly forced me to sell both kidneys to buy it immediately, the other was the Triumph Bobber Black…..Ps gotta have the lowers!
Please get whoever does the English voice-overs to watch the video whilst he does the voice-over! That should keep him from referring to e.g. a car @ 7:09, but also improve his cadence and pacing. Great video though :) EDIT: It's painfully obvious google translate was used for some of the translation, which leads to some painful errors :-/
Perhaps off topic but Honda is not sending their new Hornet 1000 to the United States either. It seems Japanese manufacturers and their marketing departments make assumptions about what American motorcyclists want and ride and then point fingers saying see they don’t ride standards there for example as they do in Europe, they are into crotch rockets or touring, and of course we can’t be seen on the others because they are not here for purchasing! It is a silly self-fulfilling prophecy that has been going on for decades; end of rant.
Headlight looks awful, no thanks...Japanese manufacturers need to hire someone from one of the Euro manufacturers to help with naked bike designs. They're just terrible looking and boring.
I absolutely detest "Retro" bikes for the simple reason that the originals were cr^p to start with. After 50, 60 or 70 years of development, i've never understood for a second, why designers would design cr^ppy bikes with lower power outputs, twin rear shocks etc.? But the XSR doesn't fall into that trap at all, it uses up-to-date specs in all the elements, the only concession to the "retro" aesthetic is in the look of the thing. Unfortunately, as there is no option for a pillion in any configuration, I don't see how I could possibly justify getting one myself. That is because, although I do most of my riding solo, the OH does like to accompany me on occasion, and I am not such a selfish tw^t as to completely ignore her wishes.
Take a closer look. The pillion option is there, albeit pretty miniscule. Might be enough to persuade your OH? BTW, re twin rear shocks, have a look at the Paton. Not at all cr@ppy
Charge a bit more for good brakes. Less tech to get the right price with good brakes. Surely customers who remember riding the inspiration for this bike would be happy to have less electronic tech and better brakes? How do the Europeans manage to suss out decent and consistent braking performance but Yamaha repeatedly swing and miss?
I am very disappointed that Yamaha is not bringing this bike to the States.
I expect it for 2025 actually. Happens to a lot of models. The Yamaha T7 in recent history.
I'm sorry to hear that.
How about Canada?
If this comment will get 1000 likes they will bring it. Greetings Nils
@@jamsstar2010 I bet once USA, also Canada
Yamaha just nailed it this time. The best looking bike of 2024.
that's it. don't change a thing. Finally a sportsbike I want.
Welp, go buy one before they change it )o(
6 months into riding and Yamaha have brought out the bike I'd dream up. I don't think I'll have any choice but to buy one
This is the only bike i've seen in a long time that i'd seriously consider swapping to if my current bike suddenly disintegrated. Great blend of beautiful retro looks, sportiness, and useability/practicality.
Ive been waiting since November for mine deposit paid...this was a real good look at it ...TA 🇦🇺
Lucky we ain't getting em in the USA. 😢

Cant wait to have one in the garage sitting beside my Marlboro TZR 3Ma. Thanks Yamaha
I personally would have loved to see it with two round side by side headlights
Fab video - love your enthusiasm!
Anyone old enough to wax nostalgic for this lovely bike won't have the wrists and lower back to tolerate it.
I don't know, it doesn't look too extreme. I have a Ninja 1000SX now which has perfect ergonomics for me, I wonder how it compares.
It's not too bad 😂
You can wax nostalgic for eras before you were born. That's the case for me. I love the 500cc 2 stroke era of bike racing and I love the way this bike looks
I'm 64 buying one...I have an R1 too quite comfortable...I'm not into being a wind sock when I ride

Excellent review, thanks.
Nice machine, really like the retro modern styling. I am looking to upgrade from my MT-07 to the new MT-09SP.
It is a beautiful machine.
Absolutely beautiful.
Love the look - will get mine delivered in july 😊
Nice review - thanks
Looks more proper with a full fairing!
Very nice... wonder how many will opt for it without the lower fairing, doesnt look right without it IMO..
What a machine. Cant take eyes off of this beauty
Thanks mate
good review 👌
Definitely looks the business
Mine due in a month can’t wait
Me too line up
Where u guys from??
Missed opportunity to bring back double round headlight like the ducati desert x.
old school looking bike with new tech
Looks kinda like the Yamaha TRX 850 and that was a great bike!
This bike is so beautiful. I don't think we get it here in the US, but man it would be on my list for sure.
Beautiful, beautiful machine ❤
Put a couple of round headlights instead and i will go to the bank instantly to ask for credit😂

Jesus, that looks so beautiful 😍
Great review. Hopefully get mine in the UK in June.
Thank you!

Love the look.

i wish it has round headlights
...but race bikes dont have headlights
Amazes me how some manufacturers neglect the most important component of a bike. BRAKES!
They don't neglect it, the stock ones are totally fine for 90% of users. The issue is hitting the target cost with nicer brakes.
More aggressive pads is a cheap and easy mod
This bike is available in Australia. This will be the next bike i buy!
Absolutely gorgeous. It really sucks it's not coming to the US. My wallet was totally ready,.
I'm not sure Yamaha will sell this bike in Malaysia but i really really want it.
You need both exhaust and lower fairings
I hope these sell like hot cakes! Really needs the lower fairing thou
Absolutely lower fairing it looks fabulous
All it needs is heated grips and it would be perfect 👍🏻🏍️🇦🇺
I really like it but wait for the r9 and put this fairing on 🎉
Retro Cafe racer✊🔥🔥
so good.
Huge miss not bringing this to the US!
Unfortunately we won't see it here in the US.
Hopefully for 2025!
Seat storage for a lock ???
The fully faired model in red, white and yellow is amazing. They're not coming to the U.S., WTF?!?!
Paint it the same as FZ 750 ,86 mod ,Red and white
now time to think for months if i should sell my 2022 xsr900 for this

it needs a head light same as the naked 900
Is this the prototype for the R9?
Nope this is its own model
@@paulred158 obviously. But a precouser to the r9
Allright Yamaha drop the R9 already

wish it was a 2-stroke 500

Who edited this video?!?!
Why can't they match what the presenter is saying to what is being shown and why do we never see the spoken details?!?!
If only it was a fuel injected 2-stroke v4. Still looks the business though.
I really prefer subtitles to VoiceOver. Subtitles let you hear the intonation and mood of the presenter's voice.
Mirrors look terrible

They better be bringing this to the united states
身長デカい😂🤚2メートル超えてる😂🤚🏍️
Biggest problem... the screen does not belong in that bike, if they went all the way with some analogs it would have been amazing.

it looks like Ironman bike
The rear is too tiny and bike looks unbalanced. I hope there will be a custom rear seat more sport type made by designers.
And in Denmark the double of what ihren price is in Germany ..
