- Matt has some shocking news to share, don't be the last to hear it! P&G has decided to close "wind down" their factory in St. Petersburg Russia. Unfortunately this is the factory where some of my favorite DE blades are made. What will this mean for the future of Gillette Blades? Perma Sharp Blades? Astra Blades?
I am Russian. I don't hold any grudge against Americans. Or the Brits. Or anyone else. Politicians tear this world apart. Shaving community should stay together.

Well good. Besides the Derby singles I use in my shavette, I’m a fan of the Astra SP in my DE
It's an unfortunate problem. Not the same quality. I saw a review of the Gillette Platinum made in Russia compared to China. The Chinese blades were of tremendously lesser quality. Same thing with Astras made in Russia compared to India.

Yeah but.....why not move every brand back to it original country, like Astra to Czechia and PermaSharp to Turkey.

Indian blades and razors for that matter are not high quality in my opinion. I tend to stay away from them, got burned too many times.
