- With the release of Season 4 of THE FINALS, Embark has introduced major changes to the new player experience. This made me curious as to what it looks like to start playing THE FINALS for the first time in 2024. I will be walking you through the revamped onboarding system, showing you the new intro videos for each class, the new cashout tutorial and everything else! This way you will see stuff that you have not seen yet and know what new players are shown during their first few hours! Let’s do this!

Their intro and promo videos are always so good. They must have good tools to do that with the game engine but also their capture artists are top-tier.

As some other people (including Ottr) stated, new player experience is what comp shooters need to thrive. Improving the new player experience is a step in the right direction.
Most people won't have a good experience if the game lacks tutorials and they're going to be like "tf I'm supposed to do" in such case.
Jinko this video is EXACTLY 24h too late! :D I introduced a friend of mine to the game yesterday and around this time I desperatedly searched for a video that shows what new players in the game will see and experience now when they start this game so i can guide him through everything that is missing afterwards and adjust what I still have to explain on a basic level and what can be on a mediate level (things like how much money is in a vault, how does the cash in bonus works etc). Its hilarious to me how peak unlucky the timing is but of course still awesome video and it definetly helps for the next friend I "force" to start playing the finals
I mean your friend will be forced through everything I show in this video, so this content is more for players who will never again do the tutorial themselves!
@@Jinko_ thats what i ment :) This video helps me a lot to adjust the things that are not told in the tutorial and i still have to explain to them afterwards. so now iam prepared for the next friend but yesterday it was like "do you already know X or Y?" all the time u know?
i love what they did for new players, a lot of f2p shooter games ive played in the past dont even bother with showing you the game mechanics, they just show you the battle pass and cosmetics lmao
around 7:10 they didnt add voice lines but the pathfinding path updates to tell you to go back to the cashbox I think
9:05 The cashout used to get 10K added to its worth every time the timer would reset, meaning you could stay for a long time and get it into the 200K plus. I guess they changed that.
I haven’t played in like 5 months but I think I have became better after the break but I think there many new players
when they called the main menu the "Backstage" it tugged on my heart a little TTwTT man i miss the alpha
Theres also a voiceline for when you initiate a cashout/steal a cashout when enemy bots are still alive. they really did account for most scenarios

The Season 4's New player experience is 100% a step in the right direction compared to before. One of my complaints though is the fact that not many gadgets or specializations have a demonstration video and all the ones that do have them are from OB or S1 which I feel like they should try to update and add more videos for gadgets to preview the item before unlocking them.
Although thankfully we have content creators that help teach players this game!
I wonder if others in the party are also forced to play quick cash when they play with someone without playing experience ...

as a new player, the tutorial was nice, maybe i'm dumb or just that it was pretty late at night but it didn't translate well into the game, it took me a couple matches to understand the mechanics. very fun game though! takes a bit to earn VRs to unlock new shit though. also a while to unlock ranked, which my buddies said was a lot more fun (understandable though, i've seen more than enough players in quick cash that seem like they've never touched a shooter before lmao)

I’m so glad they improved this, the new tutorial looks fun! When a new player uses a red barrel to open up a building for the first time they will be amazed by the destruction system.
I hope this improves player retention!
so medium now starts with the turret. that is new, the healing beam was the default.

Bruh you could have got the point across is way less time, and it would have been great to hear suggestions such as instead of just throwing a barrel how about learning how to cook it to make an Ice fishing Hole. Or highlight the deliberation that takes place when you've got the choice between poaching a cash out and going for a vault
Or maybe how effective a jump pad can be to escape a dodgy situation

My video is not a guide, I'm just showcasing the game's tutorial. I do make educational content and I have a ton coming, but it's just not the goal of this specific video...
If you are talking about what the tutorial itself is missing: there are WAY TOO MANY THINGS to teach players. Some of them, they can figure out on their own by playing. Some on TH-cam. The tutorial can't teach your EVERYTHING!
