- The Utah Jazz looked fresh and re-energized playing in front of their home crowd at the Delta Center in game 3 of the 1997 Finals.
Behind 37 points from the MVP Karl Malone, the Jazz beat Chicago 104-93.
Greg Foster had a huge game, finishing with 17 points. John Stockton also scored 17 and added 12 assists.
Scottie Pippen paced the Bulls with 27 points, while Michael Jordan added 26.
(Michael Buffer never gets old.)
These games are so much more fun to watch than the recent ones. Thanks for the uploads!
Man he looked so good in red and rockin those black&red XII's.
I always remembered this game as the greatest game of Greg Foster's career given the situation, he was one of the stars of the game, and a great example of how the greatness of John Stockton and crowd momentum could create a game like that for a role player.
It's crazy how 17 points from a player in the 90s would be a great game for them, but in the games today it would be nothing
It's almost like teams tried wild intros to try to intimidate the Bulls. Whereas all Chicago had to do was dim the lights, crank up the base, and spotlight their multiple championship banners.
I mean the Bulls didn't like the 120 decibels the Jazz were giving
The special delivery MVP Karl "mailman" Malone 37 points, after been struggled over the first 2 GMs
Check Russell at 6:11. Jordan almost made him fall just like during that final shot in '98 lol.
I always love when I hear people talk about how Jordan wasn't a great 3-point shooter. He made them when he had to, and hit many 3's to bring his team back or tie/win games. This game is evidence of that.
That's what I said to other people compare jordan and bryant bryant took threes way to much his percentage is not that great he's not a 3 point shooter jacked up 3's not necessarily but jordan was better at 3's
To me, it was even better than 98 one because MJ didn't try to do anything special, just a change of pace/speed dribble to one direction. It wasnt as beautiful as 98 one but it was for sure as good as the 98 one. For people who said 98 final shot was a push need to look at these, MJ doesnt even need a change of direction dribble to shake off russel.
What happened to the Bulls in this game? They got off to such a good start with 3 straight three-pointers, and then collapsed. For the record, Pippen tied an NBA record with 7 three pointers.
Lol Mike with the carry at 8:00....
The white and black ones looked the best to me.
the guy in the yellow suit goes crazy everytime the bulls score
i liked the white and red and black and red. they were so simple but yet so fashionable god mj how do u do it?
Worst, most over excited team intro I ever saw. I remember thinking how ridiculous it seemed when I watched this live, when I was 15. They had Michael Buffer, a Harley, and freakin' fireworks.
It's not like ForEmily23 didn't show any jazz highlights whatsoever. Thanks for putting this together, I love the jazz but I respect Jordan too.
Foxemily's channel has a lot of Jordan highlights sooo
Michael & Scottie were on 🔥 from downtown this game.
Another one of those games where Jordan and Pip had to just take over bc the team as a whole wasn't there.
Lol major carry from Michael at 8:03, i love the chemistry between the announcers, those were the days, i miss everything about it.
MJ GOAT
Yes, there is nothing more classic than the sound of Marv Albert. Matt Gukas did a good job as well. Throw out Walton and bring in Mike Fratello and we would have a telecasting trio for the ages!
Greatest finals games in history
4:42 great passing
Bill Waltom: "hahaha ... he's too good".
11 point lose is a blowout?????
Love mj
mike and scottie played well offensively. some games you can't win. utah needed that game and it showed. 11 point lose in finals, not that big of a deal. 2-1 series.
These superstar athletes around the world keep a lot of kids from joining gangs.
@passerby26
I watched almost the whole thing. They did cut the lead to 7 at least twice in the final few minutes, but could not get any closer.
Those veteran jazz team fed off their Utah crowd
nice video!
Yup. RIDICULOUS. You could still see the smoke hanging in the air during the first quarter. The next year when the teams met in the Finals, Phil Jackson brought ear pugs in preparation for the OTT intros.
Watching this I wondered if Rodman was suspended or something because he's usually all over the place so I had to look it up...
Rodman only had 3 rebounds in 24 mins played this game... in Game 4 he had 6 rebounds and played 25 mins... Game 5 he had 7 rebounds in 23 mins... and in Game 6 he had 11 rebounds in 33 mins.
@CamBowen25 Considering how close the finals were, yes. I know you prolly think the bulls were the greatest team of alltime, so any margin of victory in the finals against them is a beatdown.
yeah didn't shoot jordan shoot like 40% or 50% percent in this game from 3 point point range which is great
@lebron6theking Thats the point, the Jazz had a VERY good and devoted crowd much like OKC's crowd
When Malone choked at the free throw line in game one, it changed the series.
It just goes to show you not too many people could guard MJ one on one.
at 4:45 OMG that was fuckin terrific ball movement! so simple yet effective most people n the NBA now try to do it all them selfs
playing in front of this crowd must be amazing...and the jazz deserved the title in 97 !
Yeah it's sad Shandon Anderson missed 3 easy layups in game 6, and that one goaltending by Pippen that they didn't call, refs screwed the Jazz.
Why was he cooking bryon russel and Chris Morris lol
bryon russel with big travel on that breakaway dunk
Sad Malone decided to show up for this game but hardly did the other 11 games against the Bulls in the two Finals. How successful are you going to be if your Go to man doesn't powerful well when you needed him? Missed those two freethrows in game one, but look who came through? The real MVP MJ
He showed up 1998 game 5, he had 39 points in a win, and also in 1998 game 6, he had 31 points in a loss, it's overshadowed because Jordan outscored hin by 14 points.
@passerby23
I wouldn't call 11 points a blowout. Maybe 16 or more.
@passerby23 11 point blowout??? smart.
They did cut the lead to 7 on at least two occasions, but ran out of time.
Fire works indoors???
yeah that was really nice indeed lol
tell passerby23 to take a hike lol
its the bulls side off the loss common know who wants to see the jazz mj babbbyy
@packnity Actually bulls dominated the jazz in game 2.
4:42 look at this fukin passing! you dont see any of this today
Dkouts57 4:42
@passerby23 you have to take a look of ForEmily23's channel before you post your comment dude.
otherwise you look kind of silly , LOL.
4/10
40%
right on the dot.
I dont care whats in your other videos. "your" bulls got killed in this game. show some actual highlights
is karl malone that good without John Stockton? NOOOOO
No single move so perfectly sums up why I didn't like Karl Malone more than the strange scissor kick he does after the steal at 3:30. It was a good play, but so rediculously ugly.
@ForEmily23
Hahahahaha...........
I think he doesn't know your output yet!!
LMAO!!
Right, I'm tired of Bull worship.
lol #pow
@passerby23 mmm i wonder why the nickname is 23 and the end.... but wait yours is the same..... what a coicidence... lol
