No, the intercooler turns on by itself this is just for maximum cooling like if you are going to give it hell and it's really hot out and you want maximum hp it best to keep it cool that's why hope this answer your question

You don’t need to remove the centre conceal I just did it to clean the mud out of the hole to run the wire .
