    A wonderful Treat👍🏽👏🏾❣️
    I was about 8 yrs old in Houston TX when it began broadcasting in the U S. It got me forever hooked on its witty political commentary, and the British droll humour.
    It has never been surpassed❣️

    My late mother remembered she never missed TW3, and it was appointment viewing for a lot of people back then - you never quite knew what was going to happen. I heard an interview with Ned Sherrin years ago, he said the reason virtually all the episodes survive is because the BBC were so afraid of litigation, they wanted to keep recordings in case they were sued!

    Loved it. Davis Frost Eleanor Bron., Roy Kinnear, Willie Rushton and the catchy intro sung by Millicent Martin. Real cut and thrust satire. It was a highpoint on saturday night for mexand my dad

      I looked out for Eleanor Bron here and couldn't see her. It said on the end titles "Fenella Fielding" but I couldn't see her either

    I was old enough to watch TW3 each week. I still have the scars! I learnt to look more closely at 'my betters' and not take everything at face value. It started my interest in Politics.
    I also had a crush on Millicent Martin.

    TWTWTW was a fantastic show that prompted folk to think outside of the square in respect to traditional facets and attitudes but also accepting of a significant and compounding drop in living standards.. The show took the mickey out of many but "safe" aspects of politics, corporates, unions and celebrities but sigificant issues were out of bounds.

    If only Have I Got News For You began with the week’s news sung by Millicent Martin - and had a fraction of the satirical intelligence of TW3. Her expressions to camera are priceless.

      Absolute brilliance.Somehow these qualities do not seem to attract deserved public acclaim these days.Other examples: Peter Ustinov:Bach Cantata; Dudley Moore:parodies:Victor Borge:Happy Birthday (especially to JS Bach with its seemingly interminable sequential passages

    • @taddersauce3672
      @taddersauce3672 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      but it was satire of the time. Nostalgia of All American whatnot made fun of the Americans segregating so harshly, it should work in favour for lefties and the change from bits of conservatism. PC is quite shit I'll say.

    TW3; intelligent TV that is rarely seen anymore. A gift from our British cousins across the sea.
    I think it's missed on both sides of the pond.
    The only thing I can think of that in a very, very different way matched it was the early generations of SNL.
