Yeah you have it exactly. It really is one of these golden pearls at the bottom of an ocean of content. A real sleeper show if ever there was one. Its just bloody brilliant. Yeah more focus and more awareness overtime Will hopefully allow this it to get some limelight that it heartily deserves. I actually never picked up on the fact that Barlow is looking down on Ash. I think i always was focused on the destruction and smoke and the tower crumbling in the background. But thats just another layer on top. Good of you to spot that. She is judging him from beyond the grave as he lays there. Fun fact: apparently those two are actually married in real life which amuses me. I think this episode is, for me personally, one of the best episodes of tv start to finish that I have ever seen. I do think that if the broader public at large could get through to this point that the show would be immensely popular. At the same time, it starts slow and you really have to be patient and let the world building and character development have enough time to take you to moments like this. It does make me wonder what other breathtaking shows might exist that are similar sleepers that just don't get the attention they so obviously deserve. Anyway, great episode. So hyped to see what you guys think of season 3

Especially for John Silver because for the first time he doesn’t act in self interest. He sacrifices his leg for his crew and has now tied himself to them. Can’t wait for season 3!
The stories, the writing, the character development, are so good in this show, one thing that's overlooked, imo, is how gorgeous everything is. the lighting and design on the ships, creaking wood, the golden glow on Max, the towers falling in Charles town. Even the ghoulish body of Ms. Barlow. All so delicious. This was also my favorite episode, but it only gets better.
lol I think Silver telling Flint was more about saving himself. If the only two people who were watching over the gold die under suspicious circumstances then he knew Flint would eventually put things together so he had to make up another lie, one that was believable enough where Flint wouldn't ask questions.
That this show never got the attention it deserves will be my villain origin story. Season 2 is my personal favorite and this finale is the cherry on top of the sundae. The stakes get even higher in season 3.
"save the island" is a matter of perspective. this whole show is partly about how no solution is the right one, it all depends on who you are and what your underlying philosophy is. also it's jack ♥
