When i commented on part one of this piece I forgot you did verbally address the performance areas of the vehicles. But that being said i still think more people would like to see you demonstrate the areas on camera. Especially the 0-60 time i think its nice to hear the engine climb through the powerband. I provide this criticism as an active viewer of your channel and am only saying this so you might improve the already delightful viewing experience for viewers.
I would like to do this however I have a limitation and that is the 0-60 tests are done on a private road and the owner who kindly allows me to test there doesn't let me film there because he doesn't want people to know where he lives. It's a perfectly flat 1/2 mile road which is perfect, but alas it comes with strings.
Seems to me you'd be nuts NOT to buy the longer wheelbase version of the 3 vehicles. No downsides in terms of mileage or ride, more utility, and I assume you get your money back in resale, if not more than you paid. About a month ago I saw the 2015 Suburban in black. A truly elegant design, and better looking in the flesh than in pictures. Nice.
I read the article on 4wd vs awd after hearing the reference on this video. The article is so long and thorough, it seems convincing but I use my denali off-road in mud and water, weekly. It is a 13 with the awd, now they they come with real 4wd and a transfer case. The awd system vs the z71 Tahoe I had previously, is inferior and I won’t buy another awd system. I also have a Subaru Outback but I haven’t tested it as extensively as the Denali and have also used the awd Escalade in these same conditions. The problem is,the co outer doesn’t always know when and where to send power, meaning the rear tires might be spinning and the computer doesn’t know the rear is free floating and I need power to the front to get out. The 4wd is always sending power to the front and rear but the awd doesn’t always send power where you need it. It’s not bad for most things but if you are really using the vehicle off-road, 4wd works more effectively from my vast experience.
Great review, you covered a ton of information. I'm surprised nobody criticizes them for having column shifters. I hate all the weird variations of shifters that are less intuitive than a simple lever, that's you BMW, MB, Prius and copycats. But I hardly see 9 pass versions and I think the Chrysler's dial is best if you can't have a traditional shifter. I'm hoping shifters will come back in style like analog clocks on luxury cars.
I agree, I prefer a center console mounted shifting lever because it's something that is better to grab on to. I also, and I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this, associate the shifting lever with luxury. I hate the column shifter, especially on the Escalade. I don't want to be reminded that I am driving an expensive and overpriced Silverado.
I was going to save my GL comparisons for the Escalade review. The GL feels more nimble, is a little nicer on the inside, will be more expensive to maintain and operate. The diesel GL is probably the best way to buy the GL and in that form is a great entry because it reduces the operating costs by a decent amount. You won't get as much room or as many people in the GL however.
Alex on Autos I am not really sure if I want to spend a 70k just to get into a Chevy/GMC. I am keen on learning how many people buy the Denali models. Plus I don't understand why GM does not produce a diesel version. I think the combination of the 8-speed automatic and a diesel will win them a few buyers. I guess we need you to review the GL to draw a solid conclusion.
Siavash Vahidi It is surprisingly high, over 34% of Yukon sales are Denali making it the most popular trim level. I thought GM was pulling my leg, but they insist that is right.
I have an X5 and this is much bigger and the X5 seats aren't all that comfortable. Also, front passenger leg room is bizarrely small, which annoys my wife.

You have so much knowledge its unbelievable, excellent job though Alex!

Best reviewer on youtube. well done
So if you had to choose between lexus gx 460 or yukon denali which would you choose?

Alex, great review! I do like it when you split the videos up.
I drove a xl Denali with the 8 speed. It hit 45 mph in about 3 seconds. $75,000
Good review. Surprise u didn't like the ride compared to the Suburban being the shorter length.

The column shifter doesn't bother me at all oddly enough. I think I prefer it to the dial or button arrangements.

Very good review. Nice and detailed
Great review!!
Alex on Autos Since Mercedes GL Diesel well-equipped can be had for ~$70K, so same price as this Yukon, could you compare them?
I wish you had mentioned in the end where the GL stands in this competition?

The road at the start of the video was kinda scary. Get those passenger side wheel off to the right to far and you are toast!!
do the ford expedition cuz the third row seat is huge!!
When I compare vehicles, I usually match the Dodge Durango to the Ford Explorer. These GM products seem much larger.
Alex what video software do you use for your videos?
I use Adobe Creative Suite.
Love my Denali 😃👍

A sow in a tuxedo is still a sow. Case in point: GMC's entire lineup.
My Yukon is at 310,000 miles on the same engine and tranny. That's one great sow.
