These orders were slow to reach the front lines, and the German takeover immadiately ordered to continue fighting. Some units got the first order first and joined the soviets, most did not. Nice job, Hungary in the war was very interesting, one of the most important but usually forgotten parts of Hungary in WW2 was when Germany invaded Poland Hitler wanted to use Hungary to invade southern Poland (like he did with Slovakia) but Horthy refused, in fact Polish soldiers escaped and were "interned" in Hungary (where they would later "escape" and regroup with other Polish army units) and thousands of refugees were also taken in by the Hungarian gov, so its nice to see that you pointed out how relations with Poland despite German pressure, remained friendly.

Is a great video in general. I would like to add a few notes. You describe the First Vienna Award as generous, in fact, more than 90% of the population in the region ceded from Slovakia was ethnic Hungarian. For this reason, it is rather just than generous. It was the arrangement after WW1 that was generous to the neighbouring and new countries, providing them a lot of territory which should not have been given to them based on the Wilsonian principles. Most of the areas recovered by Hungary in the period of the video were ethnic majority Hungarian, with the exception of Carpathia. All of the territories were part of Hungary before.

We only got the Novi Sad massacre as a footnote to follow it up with the Yugoslavian revenge later. Oh, and they didn't even say those killed were jews. Our current history curriculum really pushes the agenda of Hungary making sure in every way possible that Hungarian jews were protected from deportation and violence and only discrimination was against them. Damn historical propaganda...! One thing I'd like to add though: 1943 january, defeat at the river Don is said to be a major event for Hungary as we lost around/more than half of our main army (dead or missing) or it is said.
I graduated last year and they did talk about the border incidents with Czechoslovakia as well as the Slovak-Hungarian war. This may depend on the institution you have attended but the Holocaust in Hungary was taught in a very negative light, as well as how the average Hungarian supported it and have actively partook in the seizing of Jewish assets for themselves after deportations, and the unusually fast and efficient deportations during 1944, having highlighted that while Horthy did not support it, he did not take any additional measures to stop it for quite a while (one of the reasons is of course being blackmailed with his son).
