I remember playing through both Army of Two with my brother, and every time we played other co-op games, we would spam irl the other person's name from AoT. My brother always played as Rios so i got Salem, every time we needed to be two to do something we would say either Rios or Salem continually until the other arrived. Kinda like Resident Evil. Sheva! If you and Zanny could've played together it would've been one of the best videos ever made. I can't imagine how many funny moments there'd be. I'd want a full play through.
This game was so unique and innovative. I remember playing with my Dad all the time, no other games play quite like the AoT games. I loved that there was always something for you to do. Like when helping your partner climb a ledge he isn’t locked into a climbing animation, he can shoot anyone that would be waiting up there. When you’re knocked down you can still fight back. You can feign death at low health to trick enemies and save you and your buddy. It just felt like the devs really wanted you to have a good player experience and prioritized options and fun over anything else. More than anything, it incentivized co-op and playing and having fun together in a way that no other games do. There’s so much interaction between you and your partner that it’s easily one of the best co-op games out there. I’m still mad they never made the 40th day backwards compatible. The first game is really good, but the second one is such a great game it’s a real shame that it was never made backwards compatible.
I remember playing this is middle school with one of my friends. We spent a solid 15-20 just smacking the shit out of eachother and we were in tears lol
My friend and I did a co-op playthrough last month by running AoT on the RPCS3 emulator, and then using Parsec to send his controller inputs to my PC. We had to use split screen, but if you played it with your brother as a kid like I did, that just adds to the nostalgia. We find that it aged like wine.
Although you can play any of two by yourself, it wasn’t made for that, it was made to be played with a friend, its mechanics are created specifically for coop, play it again but do it right this time
I remember playing Army of Two: The 40th day with my friend years ago. I had never played the first, but he had gotten it and we decided to try the co-op. Man, what a fun time. The gun customisation, the story choices, the team tactics... so good. Building a Frankenstein gun with a soda can suppressor that uses parts from six other guns was just too much fun.
I remember playing this and its batshit insane sequel with my brother split screen when we were younger a TON, was good couch co-op fun. I miss games like that.
The nights I spent with the bros playing this, controllers turning orange from Dorito dust, accompanied only by the smell of our armpits and the lack of maidens, will never be forgotten.
I remember playing this game a lot with my dad on the ps3 a long time ago and then played it again with my younger brother because I loved it so much. good memories.
What mad this game even better was the fact that in some cases you can deal with stuff befor hand such as the mission you parachute into the side of a mountain base as a heli takes off. If you can kill the heli you have killed a high priority target giving you bonus funds AND not having to hunt him down in later missions
Army of Two is an absolute blast from the past. I loved playing this game when i was younger. I just remember grinding that bridge mission to buy all the guns and pimped versions for them, good times.

The 40th day is this series at it's , more character and weapon customization, smoother gameplay, better AI, and you actually have a few choices that change the way things play out.
Hearing about this game again reminds me, that a Christian society in America actually was going actively against it's release and marketing by lawsuits for being "homoerotic".
I loved this series growing up. Devil's Cartel was actually my first pre-order. Now that I'm studying game development, one of my bucket list goals is to make a sequel worthy of the name.

I have amazing memories of playing the first two games with my dad. Some of the only games i actually finished with my dad because we have little overlap in our game preferences.
I remember playing army of two: the 40th day with my older brother, stomping heads off dead corpses, saving civis, making good decisions, buying gold on all our weapons, playing as rios while he played as salem, trying to find the secret cats, playing rock paper scissors, man i loved it back then. he ended up getting into bad situations with drugs and would never be home and would start going to jail while i was watching my older brother disappear out of my life until that very fateful day where he finally turned 18 and was arrested and deported. our relationship is no longer the same we haven’t talked at all in years. miss u bro
This game was awesome. Loved how you could naturally just move in and out of cover, fire over barriers etc etc without the need to "snap into" cover like you would in Gears of War
I remember playing them all with my dad. He would prefer the quiet gun that got little aggro while I used the golden skinned weapons. You'll first be like headless chickens due to not understanding how each other play, then learning to take advantage of aggro and where your ally prefers to be within the fight

It’s sad it’s not on ps5. Me and bro love those kinds of game you can play together. A way out is one of our favourite.
I remember playing this with my dad. Great times.
I remember I played it with my dad we love the game so much and he loves the guns that get more accurate and we played the army of two 40th day we love it because the new design of graphic is good
I still have this game!!! Man playing this with your friends is the best feeling!!!
SO sad they took the servers down
@@Kevduit dude seriously! If you could get someone to do some couch co-op with you will see how much of a better experience it is!
@@Kevduit hey just a quick question are you doing a give away? If not then someone in your coments is pretending to be you. I'll send SS If you want.
The 40th day is this series at it's , more character and weapon customization, smoother gameplay, better AI, and you actually have a few choices that change the way things play out.
Wait how do I make a top comment?
Kev has to find your comment worthy
Damn
Ye and it did lol
@@heinsy707 Uhuh, and how many infants do I need to sacrifice? Like 1 or 2? A maternity ward?
Sonofabitch, you did it. Great work Soldier.
This is my first time looking at the first one, crazy how much difference army of two went through for the second game
I remember loving Army of Two, but then again i actually had friends to play it with ;). Another great video Kev
OHH THE NOSTALGIA!!! This brings back memories of bonding with my stepdad playing the AOT series n COD:BO2
Man the memories of this game. I played it with my brothers, the mechanic of dragging your downed partner who'd keep shooting, so good!
Yes!!!!
YES, YES I DOOO. My favorite Co-op game
I wish the development team of the next Ghost Recon game take note of the ally drag to safety, and the foot boost up to different levels
Why can't they just cross breed the xbox1 and a pc
was talking about this game with my brother a few days ago. I will never forgot the memories we made playing this game on co-op on the 360
Army of two: 40 days, literally made my childhood absolutely beautiful. me, my brother my other brother and my dad always played this game and we would have such a blast that sometimes i go on TH-cam just to rewatch my childhood.
So glad you played this It's an amazing series even if a bit iffy on Devil's Cartel and its what always comes to my mind first when i think Cooperative game
I have amazing memories of playing the first two games with my dad. Some of the only games i actually finished with my dad because we have little overlap in our game preferences.
Man. . .this game brings so childhood memories. . .playing this game with my dad was such a good memory
Loved this game as a kid.
A new Army of Two would be so sick!
