Maybe the bigger ship crashed and we are on pnf-404 to rescue the other three captains, i say this bec in the end you dont see the bigger ship fly away ( but this is probably a stretch )
Something i saw no one mention is the difficulty increase! Killing enemies takes a lot more pikmin now and it's a much slower process then simply swarming your pikmin or charging them at an enemy
4:15 I've heard a lot of people say that the disco long legs is poisoning the pikmin, or is doing something similar to the Vehemoth Phosbat's scale-scattering attack, but I don't think this is the case. It seems to be more like a visual effect to show that the pikmin are being hypnotized or controlled. But we'll have to wait and see.
@@imreallybadatnamingthings I think you CAN kill them, but they wont force you to kill them. Although they'd probably be annoying, I'm assuming they act like a normal Snagrets but just can run and can only eat 1-3 pikmin at a time
Considering the disco-ball theming going on with this boss, it seems to me like the Pikmin are being hypnotized to dance, which would explain why they're hopping around in place instead of running around in a panic like they would if they were poisoned.
So I think the plot is, the 3 other captains crash landed on PNF 404 and they're researchers, after they crashed they sent a distress signal that the red haired captain was sent to investigate as the red haired captain and the other 3 have similar looking spacesuits and ships so they're likely connected, during the crash other crew members got separated and now the 3 researchers can't leave until they're found aka the castaways, the red haired captain is controlled during the day on their own with Oatchi and the other 3 who can't fly as their ship is broken are playable a night possibly with white and purple pikmin as those types don't have an onion to fly up to the atmosphere with and they appear on the box art. There's probably more that's purposely hidden but this is my guess so far Edit: Some non-story details I noticed, in the scene with the fiery blowhog you can see the blue fence with the watch from the first teaser, Oatchi is first met in the tutorial area and probably gets scared off just before reaching the red onion and crashed ship as the player get's introduced to Oatchi after meeting the other 3 characters

what if louie is a cook in this game ok hear me out what if the ochi brings the corpses the ship to be cooked for food? I mean we have not seen what this race eats yet.
Might've just been the pellet transitioning from red to blue, since it seems you could possibly find onions in a different order. At 1:15 the pellets go from red to blue and at 1:19 they go from red to yellow, pellets have always turned to the next color of the order you discover the pikmin types. The purple pellet was likely just going from red to blue, mixing the colors. Same happens with red to yellow, it turns orange for a split second.
Withering is back! Cool. Also, notice how at 1:15 the pellets turn from red to blue, but at 1:19 they go from red to yellow. Pellets have previously always transitioned to the next color based on the order you discovered the pikmin types. Could this mean you can get them in different orders?
@Flamsey dang. It's not like we can find good Pikmin players right around the corner. It must be difficult to transfer up to 200 Pikmin per player online. Oh well.
I think it might be both. As they attack the bar is filling up and it suddenly jumps after eating a Pikmin, implying that eating fills the bar more. I would definitely prefer if it worked like this since White Pikmin poison was useless for anyone going for minimum deaths. Making the unique trait feel mostly pointless.
The gameplay likely won't. Keep in mind this is Nintendo, they know that above anything else gameplay is king. The visuals might look strange, the story might be lacking, and all other aspects might be subpar, but gameplay so far looks incredible.
The castaways look like custom characters honestly, mainly because of the fact that you can't see any of their face and that they have a grey suit
I think that's more to hide the castaway's face for a later reveal (such as them ending up being Louie like some suspect).

Multiple landing spots is so hype. I wonder how it would work.
Seems like you have to build them using the blue fragments all over the map

True
What about pikmin 2? They didnt crash land
@@felixfire6583when they landed they crashed into a tree

probably purple Pikmin will finally become useful, cuz in Pikmin three they were useless for attacking

they are from Hocotate. Look at their ears.
