This fixed my issue. I had a red LED and 1 long flash and 2 short flashes on the green LED. Followed your instructions and now it boots as expected!!! Thank you! This was a brand new 8GB unit out of a sealed raspberry pi box.
Well I encounter a kind of similar issue with my new RP5. When I switch on my RP, I have the boot menu asking for an OS installation. I installed the standard version of raspbian for my RP5 then when I take my sd card from the pc then I branch my USB with the sd card into the RP5 I got a blackscreen in a few seconds then nothing happens : (

Did you try this
Method
I have 1 issue
When i tried to boot raspberry pi 5 " Failed to open device 'sd card' " This line showing.
@@aimusic164 yeah I’m not familiar with that
Would this solution erase the previous configuration? I have vpn wireguard clients that I wouldn’t want to reconfigure
@@csanal6 I’m not exactly sure. If your config is in the bios then maybe but I highly doubt that
Thanks!
wow thanks im grateful for your contribution
Trying this out now, once the screen goes black i can turn off the pi, re-write the OS on the card and then insert into Pi?
ya
@@kiodiekin it worked 😎

I got a brand new one and it just doesn't turn on, could this be an issue with the boot order?
It could be
@@kiodiekin I reformatted the sd card and reloaded the OS once again. It works this time now.
