I’m watching this two years behind but I’m contemplating starting my own locs. And I’m SO with you on forgoing a loctician. I’m not feeling paying someone hundreds of dollars to two strand twist my hair when I do that on a regular basis. I’m basically just paying them to part my hair real good and…. That’s just not worth it to me.
I am also looking at this 2 years behind. I decided to start my loc journey and was going to go to someone to start the journey and to keep going to them. I was gonna start it today but she was a no show 😒 so I have decided to just do it myself at this point!
i know Im asking randomly but does someone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the password. I would love any help you can give me.
@Phillip Simon I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
My sister did my comb coils in 2016. I had dreads until a few months ago when I Comb them out( i had 156 and it was such a long process) now I’m here to start my locs again because this loose hair journey ain’t it. I’m too busy for this 😆
Dang all that labor,, at least u done what u wanted though.how many days/weeks to take them loose? Was your hair still thick afterwards? Any regrets on relooking?
@@royalgems5185 it took me 30 mins to take down on loc. I took many breaks so it took me like three months to take them down. Because my hands would cramp up. My hair was pretty thick. I needed a trim so so badly. But I been experiencing with crochet hairstyle lately. I regret nothing.
Beautiful and perfect! I searched how to do starter locs with two strand twists to learn how to start my granddaughter’s locs, and your video came up. Great job!
I just finished twisting my hair and I should’ve watched videos before starting the locs lol now I have to go redo them and make sure they are all twisted the same way. Thank you for the video & I love how your hair turned out 💕
Had my first set started by my hairdresser. Took them down after 2yrs because i needed a do over and wanted them larger with better parting🥰 thank u for this videoooo. Im excited
One of the most informative easy to watch videos and I’ve watched A LOT! You are a natural on camera and answered all my questions. I’m in the research stages and starting my locs this weekend. Your hair looks amazing. Can’t wait to watch more videos from you.
Your twists are beautiful. Thank you for the detailed vid 😍. I can’t wait to see your progress! I colored my ends about the same color is your a couple of weeks ago, and now I’m ready. Nappstar is on my list of who I want to maintain my locs since I live in this area... but later on down the road. I love her! Anyway Happy journey luv!
So glad you decided to redo them because the first attempt was too big and the parting was off. In my opinion, you don’t need to add hair to your locs because as they mature the heat damage sections will cure itself. Beautiful hair, enjoy the journey!
I've been looking into starting my locs 4 years but I'm finally ready to do them. I love the way ur locs look so this will be the way I start mine as well!!
I am thinking about locing my hair and I am definitely going to do the two strand twist method and I am so happy that I found your video on your starter locs. You did a great job with showing how to begin your locs. You look beautiful in your end results. 👍🏾❤️
I know it's been two years since you made this video but thank you so much. My girlfriend has been talking about starting to loc her hair and I've been trying to research as much as possible so I can help her when she does. Sadly, I didn't get to learn about curly and coily hair during beauty school bc of living in a majority white town, so being able to find resources so I can help my love is so nice. Thank you
So happy i found this video im starting my locs and my hair is the same length and texture as yours .so I will following your journey to help with mines
I cut off all my heat damage once I twisted my hair...the ends were soooo straight...they wouldn't have stayed if I kept them in...cut off about 2-3 inches of damage like a mini big chop...
u did a awesome job. i really like it!I think I may try these locs instead of the sistalocs cause I just can't see myself doing those tiny tiny locs I have no patience for that.
Took me 10 years to agree with my decision to loc my hair😊. I had to use the 2 strand twists because hairstylist said my hair was too soft. It's been a month and my soft hair is being difficult 😮 untwisting and growing. Not sure what to do but glad I got them
I was gona do loc extensions but I feel like I don’t wana carry anything to do with fake hair in my head bc of weave even buying it stresses me out like it did with tryna figure out what weave n braid I’ll use so I’m gona start from scratch have peace of mind I really can’t deal but I wish I could of but I chose to start fresh
Notes from the video on products used: Rose water spray to help with moisturizing. Marley hair to make any buns fuller and for versatility. Kikobe whipped hair butter. And products from napstar a loctition based in new york for A retwist gel it firms the hair. For heat damaged hair kinky human hair purchased from napstar used for loc repair. The hair felt rough and a bit synthetic. Ive decided to loc my own hair using the method you used. My reasons are convenience, style, strength of hair mind and spirit. And length. Thank you for this video.
Your twists are really cute on you! I'm watching this late but I researched to see if I'm starting my daughter's 2 strand twists correctly to start her loc journey. I just got done with 1/2 of her head and I'm so excited! I had to quit for the night, her hair is down her back so it's taking quite awhile lol. I'm going to take a look at your other videos now too see how your journey is going 😊
I just started my locs 4 days ago and I'm going thur the same issues. I think my loc should be smaller. I'm diffently gonna change it up. Thanks for the video🥰
I so appreciate the gems 💎 u was dropn.. I have been natural since 2015 & have recently been entertaining locs/twist & etc. A million thanx sis. *Ur hair looks beautiful 😍🔥🔥🔥
Your starting locs are very beautiful and looks really good on you. Thank you for this video ( very professional) it’s given me some great ideas. I have very beautiful hair but I’m really considering starting my love journey and assisting others on this journey as well.
Congrats on your journey. I started mines with coils . I’m 4 months into my journey. I look rough. I think 2 strand will twist look a little neater I kinda regret it but I’m already in it lol & I’m going to get through it.
I’ve been debating starting locs for about a year now and I’ve finally got the decision that I’m gone start them, and two strand twist was the easiest method for me. I have roughly mid back length 4a hair. Would it be better to start them with my natural curl pattern or could I blow dry it first?
Girl, they look soooo good 😩😩😩😩 I'm always making my twists too thick and they end up looking like puffs, so it looks weird. I'll try to part my hair like yours and see how it turns out, hope it comes out well 😅
Hi! Were you twisting the hair separately as well, like how you do kinky twist? I'm did and I'm wondering if that's why they look flat. Please help lol. Beautiful by the way ❤
I've been considering locs for years and finally decided beefier my 30th birthday its time. I did have a question, can ypu start two trand twist locs with only natural hair? I have some perm at the ends of my hair

i started mine 4 days ago and the shrinkage is real ,but i'm waiting patiently .
Hey Ladies.. how much is a loctician???
@@ninihughe3838 starting at $175 for starter locs here in Chicago. then $300+ for a wash, retwist, maintenance etc. smh

what state is ur hair in when u did the twists?
is it just washed, detangled and air dried?
