is she diverse enough to deserve a much bigger acting career? Exorcism of Emily Rose we thought showed us that. Now she just goes where the work is and that is a type cast badass cop who doesn't take s*** off of people...... I think that's the extent of her career
here is what I like about opinion: it is just your opinion. Of course, everyone's opinion is based on something but mine was based on the 2015 tv series Limitless. She acted great in that, hence, I personally think she should work more harder to be a much renowned actress. If she is doing that, good for her. If she is not, it's up to her too. It's her choice but I would love to see any movies or tv series that she had a role in it, when I have my free time of course.

Being completely honest, in Dexter, Carpenter put on the greatest performance I have ever seen from any actor or actress in my life. No book, movie, or TV show has ever made me feel closer to a fictional character than I did to Debra Morgan. If there was one person I knew I was always rooting for during that show it was Deb, and I just can't believe how well Carpenter made her come alive. When an actress' performance can actually make you care about a character that isn't real to the point that you tear up during their death, that's how you know they've done a great job. Thank you, Jennifer.
She really was phenomenal. I don't remember which episode it was in but there was one with a think a drug dealer or relative of a drug dealer where something happened and she freaked out and just started bawling that was just so ridiculously authentic. Almost nobody I've ever seen in anything has done something like that so well.

Agree she was awesome and best character by far Dexter wasnt even close,they fucked up the ending so hard if there was one character who should have had happy ending it was her.Showtime interfered with ending,they butchered Dexter series and considering what they did to some other good shows i am never watching their shit again.

Love her so much. She REALLY needs an Emmy already. They better freaking give her one (that AND a Golden Globe!) for the last season of Dexter. I thought she deserved one in season 4 for the phenomenal acting job she did especially regarding the death of Lundy... yet she didn't even get nominated! What is wrong with these people?!
I could not agree with this comment any more. I can't think of a more intensive scene in all my years of television watching than the shooting of LaGuerta. There's certainly a huge wrongdoing for her not to have at least two Emmys on her mantle
The scene where she talks about Lundy's death with Dexter, when she says "I'm broken" is among the best acting I saw on TV. Incredible realism and pure emotion.

Absolutely one of the most talented actresses out there like a lot of people I too am baffled as to how she isn't starred in more major roles she's beautiful and bloody talented as hell, her character Debra was just played to perfection she is just brilliant I miss her being Debra..
She's definitely living her best life. She's in a bowling league, doing boxing on a whim, running for fun. And then acting for money. Kudos to her.

I've seen her in only 3 things, all of which are some of my favorite movies (and show) because of her incredible performances: Exorcism of Emily Rose, Quarantine, and Dexter.
She was in a movie with Jon Cusack that was decent...
was so bummed how the series ended. just finished it last night..... turned onto the DVD set by a good friend. watched the whole thing in about 2 weeks.... around a 'disk' a night ( 4 or 5 episodes) but was so depressed and unhappy how things ended. especially with "Deb". then, Dex ends up....well...the way he did. talk about a fucking bummer..... still, what a great show.
btw....call me a bit weird, but....i actually WANTED to see them get together. once they introduced that theme ( and the writer's 'knew' they were toying with the audience...) .... it kept everyone 'hanging on' for like 3 more seasons, believing that these two were meant for each other, and despite merely being 'non-biological-siblings....would profess their love for each other in that way. i was hoping....but...... :(
She is the most talented actress I have ever seen, by far. When I saw Dexter, her acting reminded me of Andre Braugher's Frank Pembleton in "Homicide". Just search Pembleton in the box. Hope you will see what I mean. The way they handle the character's emotions makes every scene come alive.

I completely cried my whole heart and soul out while watching the Dexter series finale, season 8, episode 12, titled "Remember The Monsters"? I never realized what a great show this was until now, I watched every season, on Showtime On Demand, I wished it could have ended another way for the characters Debbie, Dexter, Harrison, and Hannah. I would love to see the main characters of Dexter together in another series or movie.
