@@sdotdiy sorry lol. 😭 I was doing a marathon of 2 broke girls and got curious how Murphy beds are actually made. This is a really cool idea for a loft bed. So it the weight of a person is really the only thing keeping it down or is it possible to lock it down in case you wanted to like air it out or have small pets around? 🤔
Amazing and you are obviously very skilled. You must be proud. Unfortunately I don't have any of those tools nor the space so I will either have to get it ready made or get a carpenter!
Thank you but in reality you don’t need many tools for this build. I have them to make it a bit easier but you can get away with just a few. I think you could do it tho 👍
Was right on par with buying a cheaper version at the store but I used better material. The cost of wood was around 650 could be less if you went with different plywood. I chose maple. The paint was approximately 60. I had tape and tool already. Took me 3 days to complete but it’s because I broke it up into parts. 1 day for murphy bed assembly (few hours that day) then built in assemble another day (few hours) and then paint. I think the bed was around 600 box’s. Bed in a box.
@sdotdiy wasn't being rude, I do like it. Any form of transforming furniture is cool tbh....I was more so touching on how difficult it was. Wasn't trying to offend or put anyone in their feelings.
I didn’t want to go to the corner with the boxes. Because it would not be centered in the room and we talked about going to ceiling but decided against it. Just personal preference
Great video, quick all the info needed and no unnecessary over talking and great ideas. Good job!
Thank you and glad I could help out 👍🏼
Exactly what I was looking for. Piece of craftsmanship !
Thank you so much. 👍🏼
Very helpful i was planning on making a Murphy bed thank you
No problem and glad I could help out
Love it! You make it look so easy! Need one but horizontal and so hard to find plans for it.
Thank you so much. If you buy the rockler kit you get generic plans with it 👍

It’s okay and great show. The weight of the bed keeps it down and you can leave it down just by lowering it.
Looks great!
Thank you very much

amazing build. looked for more of a 'all in one' purchase since i don't have the skill or tools for that - but it looks amazing.
Thank you and you really only need a few tools to do this. It’s the best way 👍
Sick diy. Would love to try this one day
Nice. Its a great way to get more space while having a bed

This bed is the most beautiful one online

Thank you so much 😊
Looks very nice. Happen to have a link for the kit? Plans would be awesome.
right?
Thank you so much and the kit is from rockler.con am under I-semble murphy bed
@@sdotdiy thank you!
Looks like you only anchored into two studs. Has this been an issue for you? I’m about to mount mine and was told I need three
I anchored them to three studs on top and bottom
What is the thickest bed you think could fit in there? I have a 12" memory foam queen in the spare room I want to build mine in.
The box depth is 17 inches so I don’t see why that size wouldn’t work. I don’t know the actual rules but it would make sense
Clean 👌.
Thanks man appreciate it
Great content thank you
Thank you and glad it helps you out
Looks beautiful

NICE!!!
Thank you very much 👍
You are such a boss
Thank you 😊
Amazing

hi what distance should be between wall and the mattress frame?
Should be around 6 inches
How many hours did this take you?
I don’t know the exact hours but I separated the build in 3 days. The murphy bed, the built ins and then paint
Hello Nice work ! Did you have any link to buy this kit ?
Does it work if your name is Fred and not Murphy?
Sometimes but you have to be extra special 👍
I am the only person that thinks I am special. That's motivation!@@sdotdiy

Hurtful bro. I’m from Chicago lol
How to make a Murphy Bed:
Step 1: Dont.
If you don’t like it then don’t make it. No need to be rude 🤷♂️
@sdotdiy wasn't being rude, I do like it. Any form of transforming furniture is cool tbh....I was more so touching on how difficult it was. Wasn't trying to offend or put anyone in their feelings.
Its a great idea. Especially for small rooms and when you dont have company all the time.
Seems like you left some unsightly and nonfunctional spaces around the side. Why not make the built-ins wall-to-wall and go to the ceiling?
I didn’t want to go to the corner with the boxes. Because it would not be centered in the room and we talked about going to ceiling but decided against it. Just personal preference
