The only good thing about the UK winter is that the sun doesn't come up until 8am and sunset is around 3.30pm. Of course, we also rarely see the sun, dealing with flat and dull light for many months.
You can sleep in :). In Vietnam I can’t ever :(
Great advice for a smoth assignment, Thankx ! 👍
My pleasure Herbert, thanks for watching.
oh yeah same here 👍 …thanks for sharing …so others could hear how important and useful this is
Thanks :)
All Very Good Tips, Justin. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Persistence & preparation are key to success.😊
Those are two huge ones Jeffrey, thanks for watching brother.
just added the sunset sunrise to my list
Right on, I use one the sunrise apps too so I can see exact times snd locations, sunseeker app.
Great advice!
Thanks Roman, glad you liked it.
You have the street smarts. Coffee, I hear it talking. Luckily I am from the NY area so your pace is ordinary to me. Maybe not for others. You are saying the old adage, "Plan your work, work your plan". And also infantryman's purpose: move, shoot, communicate. Same for photographers. You always know your stuff and present it succinctly, like a Jesuit. Thank you. Enjoy that Cà Phê Sữa Đá. ;o)
I've had way too much coffee the past week for my assignment :(.
That's a chocked 10L bag! I obviously need some 10L Pilot packing tips as the space is tight with my Q2 on its side and my Z7ii with 50mm lying on its back. These two camera bodies tend to fill the width with not much room for anything else unless I start to stash stuff on top. Any tips, Justin? I must admit I thought I had been sent the wrong bag! Otherwise, it's an awesome shoulder bag.
Some really excellent, practical advice which I think is applicable to other professions as well. Thanks Justin!
Thanks Lucas , much love :).
While I'm an amateur, your points about being ready, plan ahead and bring what you need for the trip is important. In my case that might mean bring almost all my gear. Also pack the night before is good advice.
Thanks , my advice was intended for both amateurs and pros :).
Aviation rules for photography: Redundancy. For the pros, this is a MUST, for us amateurs this is a “wish I had”.
Well said :).
Aeropress is a life saver when you travel!
Indeed , such a great purchase we used it every day for 3 weeks in Kenya.
Good rules
Thanks Chris.
I'm curious what your schedule is like when you aren't on assignment. Do you still wake up at sunrise?
That’s actually a really good question , yes I do , habit I guess Angela:).
Thank you for such useful, helpful information. Learning from your experience is extremely valuable. Thank you!!!
On the note about starting your day running, have you ever tried a supplement called “Alpha Brain”? It helps me immensely with mental clarity and alertness.
Cheers
My pleasure Jared , I haven’t heard of that supplement but I’ll definitely check it out . I typically start my day strong and finish a bit sluggish or at least I’m less creative and motivated later in the day.
What's your number #1 rule?
Not necessarily #1 but making sure (on the day before) there's a card on each camera and the extra ones are formatted.
@@tiagodias9742 That is a good rule Tiago, I do the same. Kinda nice that most new cameras have built-in storage, love that trend.

Dang, that is one heavy, filled bag for a shoulder bag ;)
ok silly q but why not use caffeine tablets or energy drinks?
Not so heavy as those Leica M lenses are so tiny :). Regarding caffeine tablets I just love coffee and the process of it all.
« Two of everything », then a photo of two rhinos. 😄
Exactly always 2 :)
