This is basically a "what if the Knicks gm could see into the future" video lol it's a fun idea but obviously any franchise could win a championship if they knew exactly which players in the draft would be superstars

They didn't really trade FOR anyone who was an unknown, and the picks he discussed were all guys that were selected at that draft place (aside from rondo). It's not like CP3 wasn't the unanimous top 3 pick.
He basically highlighted all the super bad trades the Knicks made like trading for Curry, Francis, Mcdyess, Randolph - all guys who were NOT worth what they gave up. Trades that were considered bad when they made them

There are college scouts that can't see into future but can judge talent. It isn't a gm job to scout. The Phoenix suns, golden State warriors and Utah had great scouts. The scouting job is the hardest job in any sports franchise. The scout for the suns died in 2001 was the guy who built the suns. Scouts never get the credit. If the suns scout worked for the Knicks latrell sprewell would of been a knick but Knicks choose Hubert davis. That scout was my uncle. The suns took oliver miller because the coach wanted a center. Sprewell or miller were his choices. Just go back to all the drafts with the suns or your favorite team and you may see my point.
I agree with you on the principle, but in this case the title should be more "what if your GM actually traded away all your draft picks without leaving you the possibility to have a shot at a possible superstar?" XD

The problem with the Knicks is that the organization doesn't really care about championships. Knicks already profit so much, even during horrible seasons. On top of that, Knicks fans are always so impatient and in such a "win now" mentality, that the organization is always looking to make headline moves to please the fans. The makes the organization overpay for players past their prime, make unnecessary trades, and not extend contracts for players who show potential but need another season or two to reach their potential. This season what Knicks should've done:
Jackson made a good trade for Rose, no lose situation. However:
Instead of Noah (who is way past his prime and at risk of constant injury), they should've gone for Whiteside. I doubt any team could score on Whiteside and Porzingis in the paint (They are also great perimeter defenders for big men with long arms to defend 3's in case they have to switch on P&R). That could give Knicks an identity of rim protectors forcing teams to shoot only.
The money used for Whiteside probably wouldn't allow Courtney Lee to sign but instead Knicks can have someone much younger who has shown great potential as a Knick, being a clutch shooter, great defender, fan favorite, and great team chemistry, Langston Galloway. Plus Knicks would only pay him less than half as much.
So Knicks starting 5: ZRose, Galloway, Melo, KP and Whiteside.
THAT right there is a guaranteed playoff team.
They care about winning championships. They just stink.

some of these choices though were very blatantly poor choices, and it is a what if so this is what could have happened

OKC/ 2007 drafted Durant, 2008 drafted Westbrook & Ibaka, 2009 drafted Harden, 2011 drafted Reggie Jackson.
Sacramento kings/ 1996 drafted Stojakovic, 1998 traded for Webber, 1998 drafted Williams, 1998 Divac free agent, 2000 traded for Christie, 2001 traded for Bibby.

This is such a perfect world scenario, you can do this with any team
there's no way the Knicks were going to beat that Lakers team that year in the finals.

Andre Iguodala (in his prime, dude was a good beast), LaMarcus Alridge, David Lee, CP3, Amar’e, etc;
I see Kobe losing. They have all-stars coming (or at least if they maintained the same abilities and style as if they were in their primes depending on the age...) these guys would dominate, lol.

What if Kareem Abdul-Jabbar went to the New York Knicks instead of the Lakers in 1975. During the 74-75 season, it was confirmed that Kareem was going to leave the Bucks and was deciding that he would play for the lakers or back at his home in New York. What if he went to the Knicks, how would the league change in the 80s. During the 85 draft, I don't think they wouldn't get first pick, then there wouldn't be no Patrick Ewing in the Knicks. What would happen to James Worthy and Magic Johnson, would they be playing for the Knicks too? Wouldn't it be Patrick Ewing playing for the Lakers? This is REALLY Interesting!! I believe in the conspiracy that the Cavs made a deal with Lebron to let him go so they could build a team and let Lebron return some years later and be primed for a championship run. The team has more than MVP runner-up CP3. Around this time, this would be prime Amar’e Stoudemire which prime AS was a fucking beast.
They also have LaMarcus, Joakim (who was actually still a great rebounder, good post defender + was actually a decent passer..) along with David Lee (around this time, he was nearing his prime and was actually a dangerous rebounder and post scorer) etc;
I had to pause the video at 7:52.. it's no way in hell the Knicks would have beaten the Lakers in 2009, even with this 2k ass roster you've schemed up.

My biggest issue with this hypothetical is that the front-court duo of David Lee and Amare Stoudemire could never win a championship. The defense is simply too poor, and they do not mesh well offensively.
