I was there! And I thought I was taping the concert: only at the end I realised that I had plugged my microphone into the headphones jack of my walkman! I was furious and had to wait all these 21 years to get the recording! Thank you so much for this precious gift! Both Nicolai and Mirella were in much fresher voice here than in the similar concert they gave in Moscow (also under Fedoseyev) about an year and a half later. Nicolai was absolutely magnificent in Fiesco's aria (which he did not sing in Moscow): the total vocal control and interpretive authority were like in his younger years! What a document of two incomparable artists who dominated their respective fields for 5 decades. Many sincere thanks once again!!
