I'm a live music photographer! Whenever I look at Jonny Greenwood performing live with all those expressions and body moves, it makes me wanna be there to shoot his photographs in action!
I think he broke the (high-E) string intentionally. At 2:28 his pinky is on the string, but appears to be off the fretboard. At 2:30 it looks like the string is caught on the bridge pickup. Then, at 2:32, (sorry... 2:34) he breaks the string. I don't think he broke it to impress anyone or to look cool. He was probably thinking "fuck it" it's the last song and the string's out of tune. I'd rather get the string out of the way than play out of tune.
Actually, what he does is he has a ball end of the string drilled purposely onto his guitar which he hooks the high E string onto just for The Bends. He latches it onto that ball to make the sound and then when he's done, he unlatches it and he can use it normally. I assume through the tension of bending it, it broke. "According to a fan who’s friends with Duncan (Jonny’s guitar tech), the small, round bit of metal on the instrument, situated between the right-side neck pickup screw and one of the pickguard screws, is the ball-end of a guitar string. It was added in 1997 so that Jonny could hook his high E-string onto it to get very high notes." Source: thekingofgear.com/jonny/chordophones#electric
That’s really interesting. You can also see- what appears in function to be- a mute switch behind the volume knob & pickup selector that Johnny presses at the same time when snapping the string off. Such wonderfully whacky stuff!

I believe it is a Casino. Not a 339, which is a different, skinnier, guitar. There's also a 'Casino Coupe', which is slimmer-bodied more like a 339, I think, but I think the guitar Thom's playing here is a regular Casino.
