      Well there is already another 5/4 (5/8 gives the same groove) that is quite groovy. Take 5. So maybe 5/4 is inherently a groovy meter.

    • @halfalligator6518
      @halfalligator6518 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Atlas65 yeah it depends how it's done i think. sometimes it can sound awkward but with just the right touch it's groovy. Yes Take 5 is awesome. Also 7 can sound awkward but Pink floyd made Money sound more groovy than anything. Some bands just feel out how to make it work.

    • @Atlas65
      @Atlas65 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@halfalligator6518 Yes that is true. Often if songs with that meter are made by an overly educated music major, that analyzes way to much it is most likely not going to sound groovy. So it need the right touch, you are right with that. I think that Radiohead have even made 7 sound groovy. Isn't Paranoid Android in 7, f example?

    Thom is a snake charmer. He mesmerizes the audience and the drums follow him too. I think Radiohead follows his lead also. They go with it. I wonder if they got the drum theme from Talking Heads Izimbra David Byrnes' drummers marching.
