It would be funny if one of the Gorillaz came up to Micky Dolenz and put his hand on Micky and Micky say get your stinkin paws off me u damn dirty ape!
Hewlett is insanely talented. No other virtual groups have risen to Gorillaz' level because no one else has the artistic chops of Hewlett; he makes the project so visually compelling.
@@Memecorpvr Well. Your Favorite Martian certainly exist, but I don't think any animal with functioning eyes would say that their art is of the level of Hewlett's art for Gorillaz. :)
Well actually I have to say Vocaloid bans have gotten to Gorillaz level. Most people know who Hatsun Miku is even if you don't listen to the music or know what she does
I saw Gorillaz live about 3 years ago with my older brother and they’re definitely an awesome live band, plus Gorillaz is one of my favourite bands so this was definitely a cool video to watch. Great job as usual, dude
Damon Albarn knows how to classify his music style on Gorillaz, Blur and his solo work. All of whom are still active and maintain its foundation. I must say i'm impressed.
This was amazing. I grew up as a casual listener of Gorillaz but never picked up on the Blur, Ghibli, or Beatles connections/inspirations in their work. It's also fascinating because music seems to be one of the few media where artists can still protect their privacy/anonymity and 'death of the author' in their work.
3:48 Russell was actually possessed by his friend after someone shot him and drove off. That ghost was very good a rap apparently so in some songs he comes out and starts rapping. Eg: Clint Eastwood.
aw hell yeah. as a gorillaz & beatle fan I've gotta say this channel keeps on getting better and better edit: 2D's real name is stuart harold pot, not stuart harold. just thought I'd clear that up as harold is just his middle name
Not just possessed by dead musicians, but the spirits of his friends who were said musicians who died in a shooting of which Hobbs was the only survivor
Bro I have been so wrong about Gorillaz like, my whole life… they’re only two whites dudes??? They’re a VIRTUAL BAND??? Bruh, what?! AND ITS THE GUY FROM BLUR????? Broooo
Just saw gorillaz perform live in Maryland and it was legit the best show I’ve seen by a mile. So much love and effort went into make it a memorable experience

@@scarygarey3271 just because they love the Beatles doesn't mean they write good songs. They have about 10 good songs, the rest of theor discography is so boring, uninventive and repetitive. The Beatles, Gorillaz (and Blur) were always trying to develop and change; they never stagnated. Hence Oasis r nothing like the Beatles. They wrote good hooks occasionally; but ran out of them pretty quickly so just reused them again and again. Half of Definitely Maybe just uses riffs from T-Rex.
ok this is so strange, i was really into pink floyd when you released that pink floyd video and now i’m really into gorillaz and i see this video lolol
@b phillip I love them as well. I'm kind of fascinated with their obvious disregard for the conventions of music theory and how it exists alongside the fact their stuff still works. It's very strange, and there's a discordant element to it,but it very clearly works and is entirely unique. Plus, My Name Is Mud is such a badass song.
I hope you've heard of "The Good, The Bad and The Queen then. Damon Albarn, him, and the Fela Kuti's Percussionist(dead tho). Check this if you didn't know. Awesome band !
the 3d images for Gorillaz members was only at like.. brit awards or grammys or what it was. In the live shows Damon and other musicians sat in front of a coloured screen. Looks amazing actually
omg...I love your channel, cause, we are the Beatles fans, rite? In the 90s I was a student, and as a Beatles fan, I dive a bit into britpop, especialy Blur, Kula Shaker, and Verve....thats how I become a Gorillas fan...MUCH LOVE Ron
I'm halfway through this video I had no idea the Gorillaz or that cool. I They Really hit the u s one I was not in a place so but but this documentary seems to say they're the new gear in a gigital age
that's one of the biggest things about gorillaz, the fact that no two songs sound alike. I think to be able to like all of their songs, you'll have to learn to appreciate all genres as well
I’m just gonna say it. I think Hewlett is the reason Gorillaz became what it is. The music is mostly bad in my opinion. A few good ones but the art has maintained high quality
I see it as the complete package. With stellar production values on both ends. If it was just a comic or a series cartoon without the band tie in it wouldnt have had anywhere near the longevity. That said the music is totally given way more rent space in peoples head with the ability for people to instantly recognize the style and art and that they were watching a Gorillaz video. But cmon man their music hits have over a billion views. Compare numbers on audio only tracks to the numbers o n just the standalone shorts of the characters or the amount of hits on artwork searches. Artbook sales etc... and there is no way you can say the gorillaz would be anywhere near the draw without the music. Just like damon was pretty sucessful with music already w blur it wouldnt be a pop culture phenom without Jamie
Who do you think would win? A Giant god of the lizard with radioactive breath or one monke
There is only one right answer... monke
It would be funny if one of the Gorillaz came up to Micky Dolenz and put his hand on Micky and Micky say get your stinkin paws off me u damn dirty ape!
The first one! The lizard one. I've always thought so,at least.
Monke
monke.

KermitTheFrogHere Oh yeah, it was a great concert and one of the best shows I’ve seen. Albarn and the rest of the band were absolutely fantastic
Still there?
I've always loved Gorillaz and always thought it was crazy they weren't talked about more. You have to literally look for information on them.

I had read once it was StuPot, so what you said makes so much sense to me.
Not just possessed by dead musicians, but the spirits of his friends who were said musicians who died in a shooting of which Hobbs was the only survivor
I'm not sure how well known the name Russell Hobbs is outside the UK, but here, RH is a popular brand of kettle!
I got a Russel Hobbs microwave 😂
As an American, I’ve seen them at stores and it feels uncanny
THAT’S WHAT I THOUGHT OF WHEN I FIRST SAW HIS NAME 😭
It’s amazing how this fictional cartoon band has more depth than some real ones. Great vid!

His middle name is Harold i believe, most people believed that Harold was his last name for a bit so I’m guessing they were confused?

I like the video. One thing, you skipped over ‘Plastic Beach’ which featured The Clash Bassist and Guitarist! My favorite Gorillaz LP!
I hope you've heard of "The Good, The Bad and The Queen then. Damon Albarn, him, and the Fela Kuti's Percussionist(dead tho). Check this if you didn't know. Awesome band !
Tina Weyant the lead singer from Tom Tom Club contributed heavily to the Gorillaz as well especially Rhinestone eyes from Plastic beach.

Pretty cool that gotillaz is an animated music band for the most part.
That guy looks like the lead from blur

Why the pic of Jersey Shore cast? Gorillaz came out way before Jersey Shore was on MTV. Lmao.
2-D's name is Stuart Tusspot
Love everything about these guys❤❤❤❤❤❤
Gorillaz definitely surpassed Blur in the cultural zeitgeist. Damon is a genius.
Silent Running 🎧🎵🎶

Noodle and the others aren't real?
And thought this was the avatars of real people, I guess I won't be getting a picture with noodle.
Haha no way you thought they were real☠️
Crazy how theyre the teen titans alter egos😂🔥
Damon was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of his time. Like seriously wow
Epic
just wish they'd go back to the 19-2000 era animation, the new character designs look grotesque
And in 2010 we have hatsune miku then vtuber
It's not spelled "Albarne"..
The Jackson 5 was a real band, not a manufactured band.
Not much was said about Noodles...is she even still part of the Gorillaz?
I just want to know who the girl is.
Stuart pot I believe it to be
This isn't National Geographics?
Where are you now that I need you
gorillaz are coming soon with a song with SIR PAUL...hope u will do a video for that ...keep up the good work
