I needed this tonight 💜 it is so true that your parents voice in childhood becomes your internal voice in adulthood. That’s the reason why it’s so hard for me to give myself grace and also why I have to be careful of my words and actions toward my daughter.
It’s soooo true! I’m hard on myself too but let’s work on reparenting our internal voice together! I’m with you! Your daughter has a great mom who is self aware! You’re already breaking the cycle sis! ❤️

Thank you for sharing this. My friend and I were discussing "grace" earlier this week. Neither one of us could come up with even 1 way we could give ourselves grace. Your message helped to re-direct me and to focus on God's grace instead. The second suggestion you made, about asking God to help me be more aware of the ways He shows up and grants me grace, is something I'm gonna focus on this week. I go about my life on auto-pilot, especially when life's stressors feel too overwhelming. You inspired me to reflect on my past and to approach my future asking God to interrupt my robotic existence and show me what real grace, His grace, looks like for me.
