“ song” PIECE NOT SONG DUMMIES
@@elbertwan4038 I mean the orginal is a song...
0:00 The swagman sits under the tree and puts a kettle on the fire
1:12 The sheep shows up and the swagman captures and eats it
2:19 The police attempts to arrest the swagman for stealing the sheep; the swagman runs
2:34 The swagman jumps into the water and drowns; his spirit taunts the police: "You'll never catch me alive!"
This really made the music even better because you can really hear the text in the music. Thanks so much for posting this it made the piece even better.
2:37 that's the most beautiful harmonics I've ever heard
so clean yet so soft
Faaaaaax yo
tbh it didn't even register as harmonics to me because of how clean and simple he made it sound, wow
Ikr??? Witchcraft I tell you
So soft and sweet and delicate. Delicious!
Ray Chen is so good at the violin that he can remove his jacket in between string crossings
Jhamaal Sykes lmaoo good one
we love that #lingling
it made me look back
@@blcuber7246 Everybody who read tht fking comment, jjaja
It has harmonics! I am losing my mind right now.
Ray is a mad Asian genius and his face perfectly expresses the pressure and emotion of whatever he's doing. It's awesome and hysterical and powerful... just like good classical music. Man I enjoy this guy and twoset. Classical never seemed so fun
My words exactly
technical this is not a classical music, is under romantic music
@@andrewang17 if u mean this piece then it's not even romantic era music.
electro pinata tell me what is the era
@@andrewang17 something like 20th century music.
Everybody: enjoying the music
Me: cant stop laughing at Ray's face
Kakaka Yenka omg same😂😂 he is so funny and cute at the same time😂❤️
Well I play the piano and people say that to me too the music controls your body not you

its not Ray Chen without his convincing FACIAL EXPRESSIONSSS😆💯👌🏻
When your second violin is BPO concertmaster. Lucky man.
And the violist is also BPO 1st viola principal :p
I used to play this with my grandad before we lost him. I play violin, he played guitar. This brought back a flood of memories and emotions that I definitely didn't expect to be feeling today XD
Absolutely beautiful, I loved this
Sorry to hear that ❤️ hope you are doing well!
Dang those harmonics are on point
I never paid much attention to "Waltzing Matilda" so far. Now I absolutely love it 😍
Agree. Was not going to click on this.
Me too 😂😂
Me too! ❤
Same😂I thought it’s another of those I V Vi IV songs
Me too!
This video made my 3 year old obsessed with the violin
I love how Ray's facial expressions are going through into this piece. It's so passionate and amazing. At 3:06, the finale begins.
Even Ray's hair is expressive. It keeps getting fluffier through the piece.
I would get so distracted by hair falling on my forehead. I would have probably used a hairband in his place.
@@Fidi987 He's too into his playing to notice anything else ;)
he's cute isnt
So it does! 🙀

Damn those faces
Lol so true
U should give Lang Lang a master class on facial expression! He needs it lol
If Ray's expressions could be turned to music, this is it.
I love looking at Ray’s facial expressions when he’s playing you can really tell he is pouring his emotions into his playing 🥰🥰🥰
Ray is so skilled, he could take off his jacket and put it on, and then take it off again whilst playing🤣
A virtuoso, and an extremely funny guy. I can't stop watching him, one video post after another..., he is hilarious, and a grand master, yet so young.
Here from Twoset Violin. So proud to see more musicians from Australia, especially Brisbane woo! I can't wait to see you live with QSO in 2019
For those who adore Ray's facial expressions, there's a wonderful reason why they are like they are. A huge part of an orchestral conductor's job is conveying to the orchestra the EMOTION of a particular passage. One way they do this is with facial expressions, along with body movements and of course the baton.
So Ray here is conducting his colleagues, leading the emotional character with his use of facial expressions. His dances also show when things should be heavy, light, or groovy as shit. This is top notch conducting.
As well as playing the violin. No big deal.
The music is intensely passionate! I can't even remember how many times in a row I've watched this. I'm getting the album! Thank you, Ray Chen!
For some reason this evokes so much emotion, and I can't exactly pinpoint any specific feeling-- maybe nostalgia? Adventure? Happiness? It's the perfect blend.
Your Celtic side? Me too
Just amazing! Four master musicians totally in harmony with one another. It’s amazing how God gave such power and soul to music.
This was so blissful and powerful I had a hard time holding back tears.
no holding back tears. I swear - everytime - I'm not even sad or something - why the heck am I crying?
The intensity when people play their instruments is so gosh darn beautiful. I truely love the facial expressions and body movements. the crazy eyes and sweaty foreheads just make it so real for me
Ray, you are all that's right and good in this world. Watching this makes me happy! ❤🥰
*Listening to it over and over again*
Alessia Cirino same here👀
Why was he so sweaty even before he began? Was this part of a longer set?
Poor cellist's identity got zero airtime ...
K Lu Stephan Koncz, cellist, arranged it...
You can see the cellist at 3:05 ... for like 2 seconds.
Maybe the cellist didnt want his face to be shoot?
Violletta Ulf no he has Instagram

세상에 이런 연주를 들을수 있다니!
정말 대단합니다!
I can't believe I just spotted Mr Grosz on viola!!!
He's almost "gluing" this quartet together with his skill and beautiful viola made before Chen's violin!
1:43 is all the proof you need! (or the whole track hehe).
Ray, you are one of the most intense violinists that I have ever heard…and it is beautiful.
OMG I was smiling and had tears in my eyes at the same time. Beautiful.
Ray rock'in out. I love his music. So fun and really really hard to play! He makes it sound so easy and free.
I am in love with his performance😍😍😍. Lovely I watched over and over again….your music comforts the soul of the ghost for sure❤.
My husband who doesn’t really do classical.. was like omg this is amazing... and I agree! Well done 👍
That’s maybe because this isn’t classical music.
Can I just give you guys a thousand likes??? This is just so great! Thank you!
Ray Chen's face is so extremely expressive, always makes me smile xD
Such a classic performance, can’t get enough of his facial expression !!
Wait, that guy next to chen is one of the concert masters of the berlin phil.
I love this so much that I MusT watch it daily, or my day is not complete!! Ray Chen you are fascinating. Great quartet, wonderful arrangement!!!
This is beautiful. Australians must be so darn proud. It gives me goosebumps. 🤩
Love the enthusiasm in the whole group! And them being silly despite the difficulty 😁
Being Aussie and hearing different versions of Waltzing Matilda (especially the country bumpkin way 😁), this was a pretty incredible arrangement! Cool stuff!
One of the most joyful pieces of music ever written.
Imagine this being played in a disney movie
Better still, imagine it not being played in a Disney movie.
holy shit
Imagine it being played on Matilda
Ypril Corpuz ._. *scottish disney movies increase*
TheSolarNewbie YT this song is from Australia, not Scotland
Ray, you should come to Atlanta, I would love to hear you live! ❤️
Ray, You inspire me a whole lot!!! I play the violin too, October is my 3rd year of violin
You're one of the best violinist in the world!!!! Keep doing what you're doing!!! Keep practicing!!!!🎻🎻🎻🎻 Waltzing Matilda with the quartet was excellent!!!🎻🎻🎻🎻
Ok. This was absolutely phenomenal- like classical music is awesome and all but this piece and how its played- I was just awestruck, I never thought waltzing matilda could be played like that, this is truly inspiring, thank you Ray!
I'm so in love with this piece 😍
Thank you for the wonderful interpretation Mr. Chen and to the rest of the string quartet member. ☺️
Ray's expressions are the best.
아,!너무 좋아 😊
Amazing! Simply amazing!
This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, BRAVO!
Thank you so much Ray, and Co I’ve never ever heard this played so utterly incredibly before...... I really really love ❤️ this. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Ray and his string quartet needs to be on either Asian or American's Got Talent. This is a beautiful song and it's rarity that it can be played many different ways if it's played right and Ray proved it here. I LOVE this song!!!! Don't let classics, such as this song, die with the past.
Those are the first parts of the Berlin Philarmonic Orchestra.... I think both Ray and them can aspire to play in something better than Asia or America's Got Talent
God has blessed him with an amazing gift! I’m so thankful that he shared it with the world!❤
Music is a language that controls your body and talks through your instrument
I have NO WORDS for how amazing this performance was. My Goodness!
Rest in pianissimo to Ray's hair
I almost cried ; it took me back to childhood ❤ . Job well done guys 💯
Love classical music and Australia, what else do I need? Love from France ❤️
wow this is so amazing...such an old song...they made it sound so elegant....just imagine this as the theme song in some kind of kingdom game or something ...amazing !
He is reinventing the string quartet in a new and appealing way.
Great musicians. The piece ist incredibile Kitsch
Wonderfully refreshing, showcasing the versatility of the stringed instruments! Well done!
Wow, he plays waltzing Matilda so emotionally !!!!!! From Australia
It's so beautiful 😍
They are really feeling the music. You really can see their passion for the music!
Ahh, I love it, it even motivates me to practice XD
So, I'm gonna practice now my violin skills, byee and thx for this video Ray ❤️
I'm so glad this came up in my feed. Absolutely beautiful! ❤🎶🎻
Waltzing matilda Is one of most beautiful tune ever composed. The text is embarrassingly silly but the melody is a miracle.
3:13 is the face i make to see if anyone heard me fart
And the smile at the end is me when no heard the fart 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is just wonderful to listen to. What an excellent arrangement of a classic tune.
Best version I have ever heard. I am Australian to very special to me.
his playing is out of this world :o
