You know how artists get so upset when a client wants artwork that “goes with the sofa” or whatever? Well, I kept designing a living room in my head that would go with this Burning Bush piece. You inspired a great living space to showcase a great piece of art! 😊
Awesome! Thank you very much!
Yes. I would design a room round this piece too.
Very nice Jim!
Designer Epoxy
I have that room... orange is my favorite colour. I have the burnt orange sofa and feature walls lol
I almost fell off my seat when you said phallic. I thought I was the only one who uses that word. You’re priceless!
Lol. Thank you very much!
That is a word I hear a lot during my haunted house season when the art department is decorating.
If I had to describe poetry in motion, I would recommend your channel. You're no poet with words as minute 14:40 is priceless! I do not turn wood, I'm disabled and watch this channel for a mix of artistry meets real people. I love your commentary too, as mentioned. I have recommended to other ptsd vets your channel because it's laid back and we can still turn off the noise and see something beautiful come from a lump of your ideas. Tanx for helping me fall asleep some nights
I think it is so cool that you find Jim's videos so soothing. I don't turn wood either but I love seeing what comes from his imagination and skill. Thank you for your service!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
My dad was in the Marines, and he taught me the importance of thanking those who put their lives on the line. As people fought, they put other people's lives before their own and their personal life on hold to help other people live better lives. Thank you for all you have sacrificed and given to others.
@@Jen-w1i Your father was honorable for teaching you the honor you show here. Thank your father for me, for this honorable person you have become. I salute you.
Did you save the piece that you cut off the top? I love the way it looks, would be good on its own or added to something else
This would make a beautiful match holder for the fireplace mantle
Oh, perfect idea!
I thought of that, too. Great minds…. 😊
Certainly, thanks.
Absolutely, thanks!
The color choice was perfect for the "Burning Bush" look. Another amazing piece. I spend all week looking forward to seeing what Jim's making this week!
Thank you so much!
Inevitable Doctoral Dissertation: "Exposed Branches: Phallic Implications of Woodturning Papermills." Jim, I love this piece. The pearl red mixed with the hypershift made this literally a Burning Bush Box - I see flames around the branches! Beautiful!!!
Thank you very much!
I absolutely love how innovative you are by turning what most people would consider yard debris into a piece of art that has beauty and function. You are a true artist
Thank you very much!
Plus it keeps it from sprouting and then becoming even more difficult to remove. Win-win!
I really like the way it turned out.
Thanks so much!
After watching your videos I ordered some Designer Epoxy, got myself a pressure pot, and now I'm working with resin for the first time. I love watching the full video because you always have some great tips for people just starting out. Keep up the amazing work!
Wonderful! Have fun, thanks!
Really cool look. Love the HyperShift. Two eyes looking up from inside the bottom. You need a voice that says "let me out" every time you open it. 😊
Lol. Thank you very much!
Designer epoxy really did great, with Rockett weighting the branches. Burning Bush Box, gotta love alliteration titles, flamboyant piece, Jim, it has character like you!
Great point! Lol. Thank you very much!
Stunning! The color turned out interesting! I agree with an earlier comment that this would be awesome on a fireplace mantel to hold long matches! Designer epoxy is such a great product, but the beauty is within the artist! Very nice Jim! Good luck with the house!
Thank you so much!
Stunning “Peckermill” jar this week, love the fiery colours and bamboo like shape. (Couldn’t resist the live chat reference, we’re all big kids at heart)
Thanks so much 😊
What you do with the colors offered by designer epoxy mixed with bits of wood is true artistry.
Thank you very much!
I LOVE IT! Great call on the colour mix, the shape AND getting rid of the knob on top!!!
The resin with the wood grain the branches is perfect!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
I love it. I used to turn clay pots, and always loved making lids to fit properly.
Thank you very much!
It will be gorgeous. His projects always are.
Thank you very much!
When I first saw this piece, water bottle or wine bottle container. But that little nub made me think of a Rook chess piece, so a travel chess set container. After the nub got removed, a rice wine or sake bottle container, It has a bamboo look about it. Beautiful finished piece 🥰
Thanks so much!
Beautiful Branch Box
Yes, Jim, you should make a branch box!
Thank you very much!
That looks so good I'm at a loss for words. Probably don't help that I'm just getting off the road after a 715 mile day. I like it. Great job.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎
That’s a long day, lol. Thank you very much!
Designer epoxy
Yes! No knob. I really like your finished branch box. I have to try this with hickory limbs. Thank you again.
You are so welcome!
This just shows me that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on the wood block to turn out an interesting and eye catching piece. I love it!!
Absolutely! Thanks!
This is weird! I was wondering just last week, what the branches of a burning bush would be like, and here it is! This turned out beautiful!
Telepathy, lol. Thank you very much!
So Jim you are branching out. (More branches, lol.)
Thanks so much! 🤣
Designer epoxy. Hi Jim, I have a few observations. I love that the branches are from a burning bush and the epoxy is orange like fire. I love this piece but I personally think that the height lends better to a vase. This piece reminds me of a chess piece, I know it doesn’t line up with your timeline and I personally don’t have the space to purchase it but a whole turned chess set would be awesome to see someone do. Finally, if you can, I would love to see a slo-mo clip of you turning and the ribbon of epoxy coming off the piece. I think it would look awesome. Thanks again for everything, cheers!
That slo-mo is a good idea. I would also like to see that. 😁
I’ve been thinking of putting some slo mo stuff in my videos. It does have chess vibes too. Thanks
Love the slender look. It reminds of a lava lamp. Love it.Designer Epoxy
Thank you very much!
I love this piece, the hyper-shift and the pearl red look absolutely amazing, it looks like flame and the branches are really the star with the varied hues. It's a real piece of art
Thank you very much!
Absolutely beautiful (as always)! You create such amazing art ❤. Thanks for sharing your talents
My pleasure! Thanks
Im starting to believe that you may in fact, be a wizard!!! You create the most breathtakingly beautiful pieces of art. Truly, you are a master.
I LOVE watching your process and i find myself just glued to the screen going, "oohh" "what?" "How?" "Wow....just wow!" 😅 I love seeing incredible talent in morion.
This piece is absolutely gorgeous, just gorgeous 😍
Thank you for your vids and magical woodturning powers.
Big fan from England 🏴
Wow, thank you!
Designer Epoxy
It looks like the branches were embedded in another type of wood until the light picks up the sparkle of the hypershift. Love it!
Thank you very much!
Jim, when you were talking about the whining around 34:00 in the video, I was thinking to myself, "I don't hear him whining... " and I realized you were talking about the vacuum. LOL. Great container, someone said here it would look great using it for fireplace matches. I agree!!
Lol, thanks!
Every week I look forward to watch your videos. I was not sure about this one at the beginning but it came out gorgeous as usual. What you do with designer epoxy and some scrap wood is amazing. Keep it up, Larry
Thank you so much!
I love the contrast between wood and epoxy and the epoxy color with the hypershift makes the box glow like fire. I'd have preferred a more rounded shape but I'm confident this piece will find someone who wants to "adopt" it.
She’s already sold. Thanks!
That original white container shows that it has a screw top lid. In future you can cut a hole in that & use it as a collar to keep the top container screwed down & help make the join point waterproof . Good luck 🤞🏻 with next week’s project & I’d love to see more branch pieces
Thanks for the suggestion!
Love it and the hyper shift. Very unique piece.
Thank you very much!
Another gorgeous piece. We have to give our burning bushes a deep hair cut every couple of years. Now I have an idea what to do with some of the trimmings. Thanks for sharing this great project with us.
Designer Epoxy
Go for it! Thank you very much!
Had not yet watched the video, but knew by just seeing the thumbnail that I would love this piece: the shape, the colour combination, the hypershift...
As for your question for the "right decision": Imo it's not up to us to decide. YOU had the vision, YOU worked at the piece, YOU are the artist/creator - so it's YOU who decide. Because you know what and how you want the piece to be.
And yes: though I would have liked the lid to have a detailed shape, seeing the result, I think you made the right choice. This big bright patch would have made the knob look off-center and would have spoiled the final impression.
And now it looks great!
Thank you very much!
I didn't think it looked very red in colour, more brownish, but when it was lit at the end it was definitely red😊 lovely!❤
Thank you very much!
Hi 👋, Jim, I hope you are all keeping safe and well, Good luck with your Sale of your property,
Great looking 👀 resin and stick 🦯 😂 Art project, it reminds me of oriental, artwork, I love it, well worth the effort, I am hoping to get a set of HUNTER tools by the end of the month, I was hoping to lay my concrete floor this week for my workshop, but I have rain storms coming in for the next week or 10 days by the looks of it, keep up the amazing work, stay safe, from the moulin,
At least it’s not snow, haha. Thank you very much!
It’s nice to see a different shape once in a while.
Absolutely, thanks!
I liked this piece from the beginning. The inside of the sticks showing is so cool with the epoxy, but when you put the light inside at the end of the video I fell in love. Great job Jim.
Thank you very much!
I love how you turned burning bush twigs into something that looks like it's burning 😂. Side note, since this looks like bamboo, don't ever try to burn bamboo, it explodes! My cabin neighbor did it once while trying to clear out invasive bamboo and they accidentally caught the whole stand of it on fire - it sounded like an accident at a fireworks factory and was audible from 2K+ away across the water!
I bet that’s because of the chambers in the bamboo. I definitely want to get some and turn it. Thank you very much!
Without the light at the end, it has that kinda orangy firey glow to it. Which fits the kinds of branches well. I think it turned out pretty well. Thanks for the laughs as well.
Designer Epoxy
Thank you so much!
This piece has soo much character, fun to look at and different every time you look at it. Very nice!!!
Thank you so much!
Really love the way this "turned" out. The gold in the hyper shift really did shift the color. Sure adds a fun element to your work.
Thank you so much!
Jim the colours you chose were absolutely bang on, I think the best part of the project is the lid it turned out amazing, well done.
Thanks so much!
Burning bush sticks and epoxy that looks like fire, this piece totally needs a combustion themed name. Whatever you call it, it sure is lit. Had an idea the last time I saw you using the hollowing rig and forgot to mention it but remembered this time. Attach a small vertical pin to the back of the bar so it can't accidentally be pulled out of the slot in the support.
Yes, that is a good idea. Thanks
This was interesting. I really like the Designer Epoxy. Gives a beautiful structure. I spent over 15 yrs working with fusing glass. A lot of your work reminds me of fused glass pieces. I love it. Thanks for all your comments. I feel this piece would be an excellent pet urn.
It certainly has that vibe. Thank you very much!
Jim this looks awesome one of my sons liked the color orange and I know use used red for this turning .But it turned out turned out sort of red orange I don't know but color is beautiful Keep up the good work .Designer Epoxy combined with the hypershift really works 👍
Thank you very much!
It's like a campfire!
True! Thanks so much!
I love how the branches look in this piece. Great job, Jim.
Thank you very much!
This piece is stunning! It definitely screams "burning bush". The top with the round ends of the sticks is so cool!
Designer Epoxy
Thank you very much!
I agree, This piece is visually stimulating! It made our Panasonic Plasma Pop! Take time to enjoy your Super Bowl weekend Brother.🍻
Lol! Thank you very much!
Looks like a large Chess piece. Very cool Jim! I like it, I like this way of using sticks & branches. Anyone could use this as a storage container for D&D dice, antique marbles, crochet hooks, or old military brass buttons. It would look lovely on a shelf in a Nerd cave, Man Cave, Sewing room, office, home library. Defo a unique piece! You could always get coins with your signature engraved on them.
Yes, I would also sign the piece too. I’m not a fan of the ghosting when you can see through the resin from the inside so I may never use them. Thanks!
Fantastic piece Jim, as usual. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and talent with us all, it's really appreciated. I agree with the comments on removing the knob. My wife always watches with me. This piece made her think of a large kitchen utensil holder for countertop. We enjoy your content. Love the curves and shaping on these piece. Two 👍. Keep on turning!! Designer epoxy
It does have that vibe, thanks!
Most interesting branch creation yet, and I agree more burning bush branches, please. Next one, color only. Top is crazy 👍👍
What, no hyper shift, lol. Thanks
Very unique piece Jim. Love all the busyness going on. You definitely made the right decision removing the nub from the top. Many thumbs 👍up. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thank you kindly!
I enjoy watching you turn as much as you enjoy turning. Each and every piece is do different from any of the others what an Imagination you must have .
Thank you very much!
Another winner Jim. I think getting rid of the knob was the right choice. Designer epoxy.
Thank you very much!
Definitely the right choice to take the knob off the top...very cool design!!!
Thanks 👍
Jim, this week's project is truly on fire and is gorgeous. Love it.
Thanks a bunch!
I love this one, Jim! This is absolutely the color palette I tend to gravitate towards, so you were already batting a thousand at the pour, and the way the branches turned out was so interesting and pretty! Well done!
Thanks so much!
Your videos serve as my “zen” therapy… always so satisfying! ❤
Great! Thank you so much!
A lovely unique piece this week Jim. I look forward to watching your videos each weekend.
Thank you very much!
I love the ever so slight gradient in the epoxy.
I love this piece!!!!
Had to laugh at your description!!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Thank you so much! 😜😜
Awesome final result. That red and hyper shift sets the piece on "fire" for certain. Good decision to remove the "knob", enough said on that.🤣😁
😂😂 Thank you very much!
This turning turned out much cooler than I thought, the Designer Epoxy with the hyper shift looks great, usually I like the look of light glowing thru but this time the branch details are better without lighting. Great piece thanks.
Thank you! Cheers!
Really cool those little branches … the perfect match with the red orange colours.
Thank you very much!
You’re choice of wood, color and shape for this weeks tuning is perfect! I love the color and shape!
Thanks so much!
Designer Epoxy ❤
Absolutely a beautiful piece ❤
No knob shows more of it's true beauty ❤ love the added hyper shift ❤️ awesome job Jim ❤️
Thank you very much!
The red with hypershift made a perfect burning bush fire color. Great job!
Thank you very much!
Cool to see this shape from you. Again, a great demonstration of combining the Designer Epoxy with materials in a very creative way.
Thank you very much!
I spit out my coffee when you described this as phallic. 😂😂. Another amazing piece. ❤❤❤. The lid reminds me of a Beefeaters hat
Lol. Thank you very much!
Awesome! Love the polkadot effect the branches did on the lid - good call on flattening it. The shape brings bamboo in mind. Fabulous work!
Thank you very much!
Designer Epoxy really shines through as usual. Love this piece and have inspired some more ideas for me as well. Thanks Jim I continue to learn so much from you.
Awesome, thank you!
Like branches, like a lid, like color, not liking shape but this is one of the few times I haven't . Looking forward to next week
Fair enough, thanks!
That lighting makes it even better
Agreed, thanks!
Definitely the right decision (no knob). This piece is stunning. ❤
I think so too! Thanks
Wood presents a pleasant visual effect. Another cool piece. Glad you took the knob off the top.
Thank you very much!
I am always amazed at how much light shines through the epoxy. Great job as usual. Thank you for again showing amd talking about all of the 'mistakes'.
My pleasure! Thanks
😍 I love this piece. When you lit it from the inside my brain went crazy with other applications of this style. The box ideal is visually stimulating. I would love to see this style made into a lamp for ambient lighting. That would make this piece a double threat. Visually interesting both lit and unlit. You are a skilled craftsmen and artist.
Yes, a lamp with this would be nice. Thanks
One of my most favourite trees, Jim! You have given it a new, spectacular life!
Thank you very much!
You’re doing real good Jim I really enjoy your show. Thank you so much.
You are very welcome!
An amazing piece and I would agree that it could use a few more branches but what it is now is amazing piece of art, thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you very much!
Oval branch cuts and hypershift... can't go wrong lol Awesome looking piece
You got that right! Thanks
Little branches are cool. Love the effect that they give, definitely going to give them a go but on a smaller (shorter) scale. Great work Jim one of my favourite channels.
Have fun! Thank you very much!
Fantastic piece!! 😀 You were right about taking away the nub on top. And you are right about the visual interest that using the branches brings to the piece. Can't wait to see next week's project. Cheers! 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
I'm always blown away with your talent, willingness to experiment and the outcome of such masterpieces you create.
Thank you very much!
Another great turning using designer epoxy.
Thank you very much!
Wow, I didn't think I would like this piece as much as I do. Beautiful
Thank you very much!
This piece is awesome. It’s an odd project outside the box. Great work as usual.
Thank you very much!
Designer epoxy
Love the piece and I agree the pigment choices give the look of flames around the branches.❤❤❤❤
Yes they do, thanks!
Loved the final colour of the resin against the wood! Thanks for the video Jim. 😊
Very welcome!
I love the color, the look of the branches and the shape really sets it off! Thanks Jim!
Thank you very much!
Love the color and shape. These branch projects produce a lot of visual interest. Love it!
Overload, lol. Thank you very much!
Another fantastic piece. It was a good call removing the nob on the top. Have a wonderful weekend and a blessed week. Until Next one be blessed 😊
Thank you! You too!
Well this certainly came out better then I thought it would the color choice was perfect the end piece would be a lovely addition to a bookshelf
Absolutely, thanks!
I think the branches made a great effect. I like that it's a really different shape. Very nice! Designer Epoxy.
Thank you very much!
Love the use of branches and the colour was terrific. The end result was stunning as all of your work is. This is one piece though that I would not want to own - it reminds a little too much of a lovely urn for ashes - but then again whomever got this would be worthy of remembering.
I totally get what your saying, thanks!
It's beautiful of course!! I really love the branches in these pours. Makes for some really astonishing pieces!! Keep up the beauty! 😍 Thanks!
Thank you very much!
