    Thanks for the info. I had same problem,I replaced gasket, glow plug and pump, was about to change control unit, but found this video and I checked the sensor, made sure wires were secure and that the sensor was sitting correctly, tried to start the heater and it fired up perfect. one symptom I had before non start, was an erratic fan, changing speed up and down while running, then one day would not fire up, but fan would run continuously. anyway ordered another spare just in case. £3.33

    I've just bought a campervan a few weeks back with a brand new fit in back, including one of these chinese pieces of crap night heaters,it's literally been used for 2 nights out the odd blast through night,and it's doing this cold air thing already! Twice I've come to van after work in the last week and it's been fanning away to itself with cold air,I just unplug from the harness and just re plug and it works fine when I need to use it,I will be investing in a quality night heater in due course! My heater is under the rock and roll bed so I bet it's a pig to change at arms length under there

    @Vanflippingtastic love the simple easy to follow video thank you!
    Only question is.... there are 3 pins that come out for the heater but some replacement probes you get only have 2 holes, are there certain pins they should be on? Aka the first 2 (11 1 or 1 11) it'd the last step i need to produce proper and efficient heat!
    Thanks chap!

    The sensor failed on my brand new 2kw diesel heater it gave an E09 fault and would not start, I took it out turned the ceramic sensor upside down pulled the circular plug out about 5mm and slowley pushed it back into place then reinstalled it,
    it has been working fine ever since. over a month now, ive bought a spare one just in case it fails again.
    dont worry about which way round the plug goes it just mesures resistance thats all.

    So I have the same problem with my heater, fitted last summer but not fully tested, at that point display was OK so I simply switched it of at my control box. Took me until now to get some diesel in the tank, so I switch it back on at control box and its blowing air intermittently and won't switch of. Question, being it was unused, never primed etc. could it be the temperature sensor has just worked it's way loss rather than broken? I guess I could just take a look but would rather get the job done in one as it's fixed in a awkward space and going to be difficult to work on.

    • @VANFLIPPINGTASTIC
      @VANFLIPPINGTASTIC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have primed the unit and its getting fuel passed the pump and into the furness then its ghe temp sensor. Make sure its getting fuel first... ..
      I suspect the temp sensor though..its got to be primed first .

  • @Sailingon
    @Sailingon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mine failed yesterday, the internal temperature was showing 68c so it wouldn't start thinking it was over temperature and just continued trying to cool itself down before starting. Ordered a new thermistor this morning.

    My heater does not stop when it gets to set temperature. For example:
    1) Trailer is at 14C
    2) I set temperature to 20C. Heater turns on and heats
    3) Trailer reaches 20C. Heater goes to minimum setting but does NOT stop
    4) Trailer temperature keeps rising to 25C+, very uncomfortable.
    How can we have the heater turn off or run fan alone when reach desired temperature?

    Just a question is the temp sensor. A temp sensor or is it a temperature switch. Have you tested it on a multimeter for resistance on faulty one against new one to diagnose what's happened to faulty one etc. Cheers from old George. I thought it was a temp switch but not sure. ?

      Hi.
      I've never come across this problem . If it was me I would be drawn towards the controller. Check the connection.
      The controller senses the room temperature and adjusts the heater acordingly so it might be faulty.

    • @anothercampervanchannel

      Hey, thanks for responding. I did wonder if the controller wasn't sensing the temp as it's behind a cushion. However, it's always been there and the issue has just started. It's worth exploring though. Thanks 😊
