I followed your advice and got one of the CoreSWX batteries to power my monitor. Unfortunately these Batteries can ONLY be charged by the original Panasonic charger, not by third party devices. I hope i can return it to my retailer. If an additional power out is needed, i suggest Batteries by Swit. They are cheaper, and offer a 12V DC Out / In to power additional devices as well as charge the battery, and a USB Power out.
Thank you for the video review of this camera.; very good presentation! If I buy this camera and want to put a wide angle lens on it, what type of mounting does it have and what type of lenses would you recommend? Also, can the frame rate be dropped to 24fps?Thank you.
Thank you Johari! The mount is Micro Four Thirds (MFT), so you do have plenty of options out there, Panasonic do a lovely 7-14mm F4 lens that's worth looking into (it just depends how wide a shot you need). Yes, you can shoot in 24fps across most resolutions. Thanks for watching! KHJ
hello from australia i am doing a 1-2 year trip around remote japan in 4wd and i wanted to look at getting a good quality camera, i think this would eb great as it has unlimited record time so if im driving for 4 hours i can capotur the whole lot then get it edited afterwards, whats your thoughts on using this in my senario, mounte to windscreen forwar facing inside car, then on a gymbla when doing hiking and walks etc, does panasonic have 12 v power otpions for this camera when mounted in a vehicle that you know of, thanks
Hi David, I would look the new Panasonic GH6 instead for your project. Main reason being that the GH6 has fantastic in body stabilisation, which if you're going to be mounting the camera on a 4WD car, is going to make for much smoother shots - without it you'll likely get a lot of micro jitter. The GH6 can be USB powered, so you can simply get a 12v adapter and run the camera from the car battery. Thanks, Kriss
Quick Question. I am using 2x GH5 cameras for a long-term multi-cam setup but find it time-consuming to go to each camera individually to change settings as needed. Also, I use a MP3 player to input music via the 3.5mm jacks on both cams so I can then sync the cameras later on in Premiere Pro... The BGH1 seems to solve all my issues in that all cameras can be controlled from my PC as a single camera but my question relates to Genlock/timecode, which I have never used, and I thought they actually were the same thing... I figure I can ditch my mp3-player solution but what is the difference between genlock and timesync for my case-scenario? thanks for the vid!
Hi Michal, timecode would be fine with your given use case. It works in a similar fashion to how you are using your mp3 player currently to sync the cameras, however this would be more accurate and also free up your audio channels on the camera for recording. Essentially timecode can be generated by a camera or third party device, this is then sync'd to the other devices via a cable or wirelessly (if the device supports it). When you come into Premiere, you can then simply sync your files using their timecode information. Thanks! KH
You can jam sync timecode on the gh5. You can also timecode sync both GH5’s using the iOS app. The camera will output the timecode in the metadata. You don’t need to use your MP3 player.
Hi Kriss, I would like to use it as camera to shoot tutorials top down. Would you recommend it for that? More specifically the Af will be important in this regard. Cheers, M
Verry helpfull. May be u can give us some more inside of the Software/Hardware to use with it. Oviously the Ethernet connection is a huge thing. But can it run with some sort of CCU Hardware to match various cameras remotly in an brodcast situation?
Hi very nice review ! I just wonder how the BGH1 stands compare to a BlackMagicPocketCinema4k during night shootings ? Can we expect similar or best results in VLOG_L with high iso and.....low noise ? ;-) best regards !
Hey, well both feature a dual native ISO and have sensors that are very very similar in size, so to be honest you'll get similar amount of noise in the shadows when bumping up the ISO. The one thing I would say is that to get the best performance out of the PCC4K you need to be shooting in BRAW, and thus will likely need to apply some form of noise reduction in post, the same goes for the BGH1 in VLOG, however if shooting in one of the standard profiles on the BGH1, or even the cine gammas you can get away without needing to do that. Thanks for watching! Kriss
This would be my absolute dream camera for live streams. But lets be realistic for a sec: There is no way i can afford it - let alone multiple of these with lenses and whatnot. Still... i love it. I cannot help but totally adore this package!
Can this camera record to an external ssd? Ps great review, well done, I would like to see a little more of the focus system. Is it the same as the Gh5s?
I know im asking randomly but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Jude Samuel Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
great video - does it drop frames on the LIVE HDMI / SDI output when you hit record like the GH5s? Also when you're recording does the live output stutter?
I like the concept and the image, but the z-cam e2-m4 is a better choice in my opinion, plus it has great slow motion (which i need since i mostly do product video)
It seems the primary benefit to this camera is the remote control functions. Does anyone know if there would be a way to remotely control a zoom lens on this camera, or pan/tilt functions for the mount?
If using a MFT powerzoom lens you'll be able to control it remotely with no extra bits of kit needed. I suspect Panasonic Lumix may make some new better powerzooms, as currently they only offer two. Kriss
Could we finally have the perfect multicam setup for sport ? These camera look amazing… shooting with big cousin DVX-200 … these look easier to move around. Lenses will be pricey
Yes it would have been nice to have NDI | HX onboard even if it was a paid for firmware upgrade. But then again, you'd likely want to use full NDI for most situations anyway over the compressed HX, and at that point you can get a BirdDog encoder for what would likely be the cost of that firmware update. Thanks for watching! Kriss
Every information helped 100percent 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 this video is needed
Very beautiful guide in the the camera (BGH1)
Is it possible to turn on the camera remotely?

Still waiting for the Panasonic GH6! Thanks Panasonic! Hopefully coming 2021.

great video! Amazing camera! I wish it had built in Nd Filters tho.
Thanks for the positive comment Michael! Kriss
Hi Kriss,
I would like to use it as camera to shoot tutorials top down. Would you recommend it for that? More specifically the Af will be important in this regard.
Cheers,
M
Hey, yes this camera would work very well for that sort of setup! Cheers for watching, KH
Are you limited to using only 4 thirds lens or can you use lens adapters to change the mount and lens?
A big benefit of the MFT mount is that it's very easy to adapt most other mount types to it - so yes, you can absolutely use adapters. KHJ
Does the Lumix Tether works with all the Panasonic lens?
Verry helpfull. May be u can give us some more inside of the Software/Hardware to use with it. Oviously the Ethernet connection is a huge thing. But can it run with some sort of CCU Hardware to match various cameras remotly in an brodcast situation?

hi Holdan. Very interested what equipment you recommend for Indi Docu shooting with respect to lenses, audio, etc.
This would be my absolute dream camera for live streams. But lets be realistic for a sec: There is no way i can afford it - let alone multiple of these with lenses and whatnot. Still... i love it. I cannot help but totally adore this package!
There is but one question I’d have: With a video stream over ethernet, how much delay do I need to expect vs HDMI / SDI?
Can this camera record to an external ssd?
Ps great review, well done, I would like to see a little more of the focus system. Is it the same as the Gh5s?
The studio shots are very clean, love them all. Video is informative. Thank yee kindly!
Thanks for the positive comment, and of course for watching! Kriss
I know im asking randomly but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account?

@Roland Carlos Instablaster ;)
@Jude Samuel Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm.

@Jude Samuel It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account :D
I guess if you need a broadcast capable camera on the m4/3
Built-in ND Filters would have been great.
Agreed - that would have been fantastic to have! Thanks for watching :) Kriss

no
Can the i power a monitor with the Core SWX Nano-VBR98 if the camera is only relying on POE?
I like the concept and the image, but the z-cam e2-m4 is a better choice in my opinion, plus it has great slow motion (which i need since i mostly do product video)
Would this work on the new Dante Av network
Super review 👍🏼
Thank you! Kriss
Thank you.
Are there any monitors that you can control the camera settings with? Very interested in this camera if there's a great monitor to pair it with
Not as of yet!
THANKS KRISS. A VERY USEFUL VIDEO ABOUT A AMAZING CAMERA FOR CINEMA MAKERS... BEST REGARDS. NANO.
Thanks for watching! Kriss
Are the camera menu's accessable/viewable via the attached monitor?
Yes the camera menu is viewable through the HDMI output - the SDI is always clean. Thanks for watching! KHJ
It seems the primary benefit to this camera is the remote control functions. Does anyone know if there would be a way to remotely control a zoom lens on this camera, or pan/tilt functions for the mount?
Another Tilta nucleus on the zoom ring should be fine.
If using a MFT powerzoom lens you'll be able to control it remotely with no extra bits of kit needed. I suspect Panasonic Lumix may make some new better powerzooms, as currently they only offer two. Kriss
Iris control?
BGH1 Has a Sensor Stabilizition ?
Could we finally have the perfect multicam setup for sport ?
These camera look amazing… shooting with big cousin DVX-200 … these look easier to move around. Lenses will be pricey
Really unfortunate that the NDI is not directly integrated like the AG-CX350. BGH1 would have been perfect.
Yes it would have been nice to have NDI | HX onboard even if it was a paid for firmware upgrade. But then again, you'd likely want to use full NDI for most situations anyway over the compressed HX, and at that point you can get a BirdDog encoder for what would likely be the cost of that firmware update. unless panasonic also releases a 15-20x native mft zoom lens I think it is overpriced compared to the gh5.
I'm still trying to find what this camera has to offer versus the cheaper and far more interesting Z Cam E2 M4... 🙄
And the zcam has great slowmo
Reliability. That sums it up
Mini Alexa with few extra goodies.
autofocus supported also still photography
What about in body stabilizer.....Peace
No IBIS i'm afraid. KH
Have they figured how to AF?
Much improved AF performance since the update that came with the S5. Kriss
