    I’ve watched your MA videos before and I just want to know why did you left MA to do PCA/PCT? I ask because I am interested in both jobs and wanted to know the difference. Also just want to hear your response on what was a better option.

    • @NurseAviiiii
      @NurseAviiiii  3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      because MAs usually work in clinical settings & atleast I did and i'm now starting nursing school which would be the same times as clinics and I know no clinic would really work with that crazy schedule or hours and I would have stayed an MA but no jobs really for MAs to work nights so as a PCT I can do all that and amazingly at my job I can even do 3 - 11 or 11 - 7 is I don't want to work the full 12 hrs but I will say my cousin is in nursing school too & she's still an MA at an urgent care but she works the weekends but weekends for me is time I need off because I like to travel so its really preference and what matters most to you .

      I have a question can you work as a pct and get your cna certification at the same time. Or do you need to be certified to work as a pct

    • @chantrvll
      @chantrvll 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@HoustonTrendSetter you usually need to have your CNA OR be in the process of nursing school :)

    I’ve heard night shifts can be easier because patients are sleeping sort of less work is that true?

    • @NurseAviiiii
      @NurseAviiiii  3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      definitely , im on ICU so the patient are intubated so my nights are a breeze but when I was on medsurg 99% of them slept through the night so it was super easy .

    Hi I’m looking into doing phlebotomy can I also do PCT after being certified, or is it more marketable to employers to have MA certification first?

    • @NurseAviiiii
      @NurseAviiiii  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i'm not too sure if you can become a pct just off being just doing phlebotomy , I have another video on the steps of becoming a pct and requirements and I honestly can't say if that will qualify as direct patient care which was one of the requirements to become a pct for me but every place maybe different and also you don't necessarily have to be an MA before becoming one that's just what I was prior to being a PCT and what got me in with the direct patient care .

    • @NurseAviiiii
      @NurseAviiiii  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes it called a weekend differential so I get that & I work nights which we get differential for that too so I get my base pay plus those 2 😊 .

      honestly .. I miss the clinic lol 😂 this is more CNA work and nothing against CNA work and what they do but I did not go to school for this and it feels limiting because I can do so much more in a clincal setting than hospital tbh .

      @@TMPWarfare I’m pretty sure she was wearing the gown as a jacket. I’ve seen nurses do it, it’s basically kinda like a patient gown, my nurses use the disposable gowns sometimes purposely backwards for sweaters but the one they wear for that they don’t use in patients rooms, they grab a new one. I’ve also seen them use the blankets at night

    • @NurseAviiiii
