On the plastics, let’s not forget that during the 90’s there was a huge push to get away from glass and tin bottles and cans. I still remember being asked for “paper or plastic” at the grocery store and I’m 42.

My grandfather was the single working breadwinner for his wife and two children. He owned a home, two cars and provided quite comfortably for the family.
He worked a 9 to 5 until the age of 58 until he retired.
It is government waste of the taxpayer dollar that has diminished the quality of life and buying power of the middle class , this country's true functioning economy makers.
We live in a country where life long civil servants and politicians become multi millionaires while the standard household relies on multiple incomes just to provide the basics needs.
It is time for a government overhaul.

The middle class is the executives and manager type positions. I think your referring to the working class, which technically would be the next one down, right above the poor class.

The working class is indeed the middle class.
In what world would the executive populace be considered middle?
Its rich , middle, lower when describing class affiliation.
      There's no debate.
The decline of the middle class is possibly why you assume otherwise.

You do realize there are plumbers with take home pay well exceeding that of some in management, no?
My point being, the middle earner is what's considered the working class, its what makes the "middle" moniker self explanatory.
Owning a home (a clear indication of at least middle class status) is far less obtainable to middle income workers than in past generations, and my point was for others to acknowledge the real reason for the decline...
      Governmental malfeasance.

Imo, high medical care in the US is caused by 2 things: Outrageous college costs and Tort laws. Idk how much doctors make in the glorious, perfect European Union, but in the US, they need to make tons of money to pay off student debt and have good insurance to protect them from lawsuits.

Lobbying to get laws that benefit those with the deepest pockets cannot be the answer for record profits with simultaneously insanely high costs of living. I was priced into homelessness six years ago and have only seen rent costs increase by hundreds of dollars in any town with a population higher than 40,000 people. Now, I am almost completely priced out of life. Next thing will be tens of thousands of Americans dying of starvation while Big Food boasts hundred-year record profits.

The problem with the disparity in the cost of healthcare and education has to do with the subsidizing of such. I remember when college used to be 1500 a semester because there's free money given by the government they gradually raised the price and you know basically the plan is just to take all the free money. Same is probably happening with the health care.

  • @will1122

Talk to a Canadian or English person about the health care system there, when you make an appointment it’s 6-12 months out. My friend’s dad died waiting for he’s appointment to find out if the tumor was cancerous… is was. It’s not all peaches and cream just because it’s free. Same with college too many get distracted by the idea of having a degree rather than actually looking if there’s market demand for the degree they’re getting. If you’re 100k in student loan debt for a degree that has no job market that’s your fault dummy.

Yup. Im canadian. Our Healthcare is nooooothing like how i see leftist Americans describe it. For starters the Healthcare the people are most likely to need is not covered. We pay out of pocket for dentists, eye doctors, prescriptions, any sort of physiotherapy or chiropractic care, podiatry, mental health therapists ect. Basically unless it's emergency care for like a broken bone or stabbing or something life threatening like cancer or surgery you pay out the ass. Insurance from employers or purchased yourself is a necessity. And the wait times are bad for the care that is covered my our "free Healthcare" my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. The care he was able to get was palliative home care because the cancer wasn't treated soon enough. They did take care of him at home for the last couple months he was alive and I do appreciate that much, but ya it really misses me off when people that don't actually know what they are talking about go on amd on about how great we have it. If you need something done fast, you pay private, if you are not in a hurry, you go public. Public health care accepts private prescriptions, so you can get those meds for free if they have it.
If you dont have money to pay for private and are forced to wait for the public service, what makes you think that you would be better if private was the only option. You would still be broke and unable to afford it.

Trust me - America's sense of community is fantastic - and is, in my opinion, the best in the world or at least the best in the Anglo-sphere (the Indians might be fantastic to each other, but not speaking Urdu or Hindi, it rather goes over my head). Also, public healthcare is a scandal (UK's and Canada's are probably the worst, though, and they're my measuring sticks) and not the 'magic-bullet' the American left tend to pretend it is. There've been a few cases recently in which the Italian NHS has offered care, but the UK NHS has refused and patients have died never having been given the option to try every available route of survival until the very end. Often these sorts of patients are quite young. I see this as nothing short of evil.

I'm already scared of needles so getting surgery literally took my dad doing it with me, to give me the drive to do it. So imagine how frustrating/traumatizing it was when I have to have a needle continue to be in me and I suddenly feel a sharp pain from them pushing the fluids into my veins. Not fun, especially the day after having half my stomach cut out. The one cool thing is the service we used included transportation to and from the airport, medical center, and hotel that you stay at the night before flying back. Even got to sit in the extra leg room seats on the plane back because our surgery qualified us as geriatric patient flyers. So it had it's good and bad, but definitely cheaper than it would have been in the US. It can be up to 38k here but including all that I mentioned with transport and accommodations. He was steamrolled and sabotaged around every corner in his first term and yet he still managed to accomplish incredible things, even with all of the snakes that they encircled him with. This term is going to be very different. He has an amazing team around him, who are very familiar with the establishment and their corruption and they want these changes, just as much as he does (and those of us who voted for him do). The Dems and RINOs still can't understand why so many people fled from their far left progressive ideologies and they're actually doubling down on the same rhetoric that caused such an exodus. The more they try to push that failed agenda, the longer its going to be, before another Dem sets their slimy foot in the Oval Office. More eyes and minds are opening every day.

If you haven’t seen this clearly then you’re just part of the problem of ignorance in this nation. And sadly too many fools won’t understand it until we’re in a all out revolution which will be the only thing that saves America.

Left or right does not matter, governments themselves are corrupt across the world. Almost all countries are using fiat money. That is why services and quality of life will always go down and taxes will always go up. It is a ponzie scheme. Any government that does not discuss our central banking systems is corrupt. The nonsense they fill our news with is just distractions meant to act as scapegoats and keep us fighting each other

9:21 I can understand the ban on plastic bags, but keeping the water bottles. It's more of a reduction rather than an outright ban. It's like, "OK. We need to cut down on plastic dependency, so what can we do? We can't stop using plastic water bottles, that'll drive the costs up too much for us and the consumers. So let's just use paper bags and/or have people bring in their own bags."

The walkable city she’s referring to is like a place that you can get all needs within a square mile.
The thing is… there’s places like that in the US. She’s just never witnessed small town/city places. I live in a town like this. We have sidewalks every and there’s a small grocery store 3 blocks from my house, there’s a little downtown area where you can get clothes, restaurants, etc. about 1/4 mile away… and parks everywhere. There’s pharmacies within walking distance too.
Some people just need to explore to understand the diversity of our country.

We pay so much for these degrees and Healthcare systems in comparison to these other countries because it covers the costs of the Healthcare services IN most of those other countries. Americans have funded the research and development of the entire industry itself to the point where we "should" be able to just walk in and get extremely cheap goods and services, but we instead afford those costs of goods and services to those aforementioned countries with cheaper prices. Don't believe me? Look where the funding for the vast majority of medicines and medical equipment comes from. It's almost like looking at the NATO budget. It's highly lopsided. As for the higher educational system, it's pure corruption. Most of the taxpayers money they lobby for go towards the paychecks of the board members and the Dean with the bare minimum making its way into the facilities or the students themselves. Hopefully, we can get this shit all straightened out when DOGE gets their hands on those parts of our budget.

Now, who would benefit from co-opting that term, 'woke'? Who would benefit from having a population reject the concept of knowledge, of understanding? Who would benefit from a population rejecting information?

Because the Healthcare system is something i'm more familiar with, I can say a few things. Running hospitals in The US is very very very expensive. When comparing prices, never ignore how much costs contribute to the prices.
First is the policies. The liability coverage, because doctors get sued all the time for all sorts of reasons, before we discuss staff wages, cost of equipments and everything else. I'm not certain, but I would imagine running a hospital in The US would probably rank as one of the most expensive.
Costs could and should go down, but for that to happen the whole system of healthcare would need reforms, and hospitals would probably need to reduce their headcounts too. As it stands, medtech and pharmaceutical companies are the actual real reason Healthcare cost is so high, policies geared towards reigning costs in those those industries would reduce user end prices drastically. However, hospitals too would need to find creative ways to reduce operating costs outside that.

    • @watergawd2605
      @watergawd2605 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

well get to the reforming then. people dont wanna hear about and hospital expense when people can barely get insurance worth having or gotta wait 5 months for a doc appointment. I'm not gonna say i know the ins and out of the medical field and insurance but I'm pretty sure its like every other corporate field and there are people that are just not willing to take a pay cut but expect us to have sympathy for the price of a hospital bed. just sounds like a long explanation for putting profit over peoples lives

    • @HalHamza
      @HalHamza 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

@watergawd2605 Most of the reforms need to come from the government agencies that govern these industries, because it is the loopholes that enable rampant misbehavior in these industries, but it also some of those policies that drive up costs. The govt. would need to break several monopolies in the industry for anything to actually start changing, and so far, I see no desire from the governing agencies that they're interested.

Thank you for mentioning private. Many people say that public health care is bad, and private is better. But they never reason that you can simply have both services. Where i live we use both.

Then you have your States flag your country's flag that represent every territory in the Union.
