- It's time to visit the classic D&D setting: ruins! You can use these in both a forest setting using the sidewalk tiles and wilderness tiles or in a desert setting using the desert tiles and desert scatter! The world is your modular oyster. Or, just take the techniques and build anything else you want :)

This talking head style video felt really calming and personal. As usual, what a great video. :)
Thank you! I'm glad it added to the vibes 😊
damn the amount of dopamine that is released in my body whenever I got that new Raechel video notification
LOL
I love your videos so much, it’s so inspiring to me how you can make both the work of art you’re making a tutorial for and the work of art that is the video itself at the same time! Thank you for sharing your work with us 🥹 💕
Ahh thank you! That's huge praise I appreciate your dual acknowledgement haha. It feeds my sooouuul ♥️
@@raecheldoes I’m so glad! 🥰
Absolutely gorgeous look at all the exquisite details 🎉❤
I love these tutorials!!! They're like all I need. Came up with another UDO idea to keep you up at night: With the way these are made to stack, I could imagine there being a wall topper that could be a cornice piece. This would allow for the walls to be assembled into a temple front, or the cornice pieces could be placed on the ground to accentuate the ruin feel and provide cover
Yes. Excellent. Most definitely, certainly not going to keep me up at night. Yeah. Mhm.
That's a great idea, honestly! I will add it to the bank for potentially future videos. 😊 And I appreciate the enthusiastic praise!
Still making the best terrain crafting tutorials on TH-cam, I see... Good for you! And good for us!
That montage at 0:20 is so great! I rewinded it like 10 times, no exaggeration.
Ahaha I was particularly proud of that one so I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the kind words! 😊
@@raecheldoes Yeah, it's like a magic trick! ARE YOU A WIZARD?!?
These look SO good. Slicing layers off the outside of the foam and the brown ink wash do a ton of work to make these look and feel ruinous! I definitely agree that dry brushing doesn't have to be the last step, and the reddish wash giving the illusion of layers of separate stone was a phenomenal touch. I'm inspired!
Thank you so much for the compliments and your detailed feedback! It really helps me to know what you guys find helpful 😊
@@raecheldoes Thanks so much for your detailed tutorial! :)
Wonderful work again. I really enjoy the UDO and think it does matter to the overall look of the work. I've added these ideas to my ever growing list of things to do when I get time. Thank you so much!
Thank you very much, and you're welcome! 😊 Also, I'm getting that from a lot of the comments--people enjoy the UDO!
This is the most detailed Terrain tutorial guide I have ever seen... Just wow...
Ahahaaa you're too kind 😅
These ruins look awesome. Definitely adding them to my list of projects to build. As always loving the pun-tastic commentary.
It is an honour to be put on anyone's project list! And I hope they were all appropriately groan-inducing.
I totally relate to the undercurrent of mania. Crafting is my happy place, but can certainly be a deep rabbit hole. The puns are great. Love the video.
Yeah it can definitely be hard to walk that fine line between happy place and rabbit hole 😅 Thank you all around!
Extremely high quality content as always ❤
The editing combined with the pieces to camera was especially fun 😂
Woohoo! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Glad to see you back.
But I've been here the whooooole time 👐
Great video and tutorial. I like that detail matters to you, and how you always pick the better looking or functioning option.
Thank you! That feedback means a lot 😊
I really like the color scheme you picked for these ruins!
I'm glad you like them 😊
UDO is my life philosophy!❤
It's been mine too haha
Glorious. Thanks for sharing this with us.
You're very welcome!
me: thinking my puns are hilariously bad
Rae'chel: I'm going to end this man's whole carreer
This has always been the goal, so I'm glad I accomplished it 😎
First video of yours I've seen, truly brilliant work. Inspired.
Welcome to the channel, and thank you very much!
WOW, stunning results!
I now know what I’m doing this weekend. :)
Thank you! I wish you a craft-ful weekend haha
Nicely done! The paint job in particular matches up perfectly with the reference photos you showed. :)
Excellent! I'm glad that came through :)
So many great tips and tricks in one video! Amazing :)
Thank you!
You have a face! 😜 These are awesome. Instead of slicing off every corner of every wall, keep a sheet of 120 or 180 grit sandpaper handy and shave the corners down. I gotta believe that's faster. Along with your crafting, I gotta say, your editing is top notch as well. Good stuff all around. Cheers. (I'm not coming up with any decent puns which is really annoying me. 😤)
@dirigoallagash3464 Sanding is a great time saving suggesting, but sanding foam should be done out of doors while wearing a mask, foam dust is not healthy and it is messy.
I did manage to get similar-ish results to sanding and cutting with scraping the edge of the piece with the blade of a sharp utility knife sideways. Pretty much dust free, no hard edges, way faster than cutting.
I do! And thank you for the compliments! I do agree that sanding would probably be faster, but I can't be bothered with the dust and making sure I'm appropriately masked and clean after :P
Methodic and precise. Wonderful work
Thank you 😊
These are so awesome! Your videos are a great resource. Thank you!
I really like this. It's nice to see something a bit different to the usual ruins. And, yes, I would probably watch for the puns anyway.
I'm glad to have delivered on both accounts 🫡
Another pun video! Oh, and a fantastic ruins/wall tutorial was also featured.
😂 I try my best to supplement the puns
Extant-lent video! Those puns were certainly dross-ome too!
Ah, you never fail to c-age-old (cajole) me with your pun game!
I had to reach into well for that one LOL
@@raecheldoes I can dig it...
I love your videos
Great work as always!
Thank you!
Awesome tutorial. Subscribed.
Those are gorgeous.
I bet in school, kids would bully Matt by threatening to take his magnets away!!
I love these ruins so. much.
Thank you very much! And what a way to bully someone 😂
The Tabletop Crafter's guild brought me here. :)
:O 'Tis an honour!
I used to use an old soldering gun for all of my texturing when I made walls like this.
That would work perfectly! I was similarly considering using my heat knife for some texturing.
Supreme editing!
Thank you!
wonderful video, thanks!
I'm glad you liked it!
If you make a magnet handle then you could avoid getting covered in paint when painting the arches. :)
Yoooouuuu are not wrong :P
Very nice job. Great editing too!
Thank you! 😊
you deserve more views. cheers for this
That's very kind of you to say! 🥲
@@raecheldoesI’ve owned a proxon for like 2 years now, I’ve made. A few things with my boy for DnD, and it’s so cool to stumble across other creators
These ruins look very realistic, great job!
Thank you very much!
Love the videos, keep it up! I know a lot of your content is heavily influenced by RP Archive, but if I'm being honest, you do it better! Nothing against Matt, but I find I personally have to watch his videos multiple times, and pause them over and over to grasp the instructions and measurements (not even talking following along while crafting said video content). Your videos - for whatever reason I can't put my finger on - are clear, concise, easy to follow, and have the added bonus of fantastically themed puns.
All this to say, if you would recreate YOUR version/spin of most of Matt's content, I'd be here for it! Either way, keep making these fantastic videos :D
Awesome work
Those are some good looking ruins :D
Why, thank you very much! :D
your editing always improving! hahahahaha loved it. great work and ideas :))
Thank you so much! I like trying new editing techniques so I'm happy it's coming across!
So good!
They look cool as hell! 😮
I'm glad you think so!
it look awesome!! And I love your edditing and tricks, there are so funny and with great rhythm
Thank you! I try 🥲
Well done. Looks really good, great video.
Thank ye kindly 😊
I really appreciate your use of the word "thrice."
Excellent 😎
You're back! You have another awesome tutorial! You have...a face! 😛So many good ideas that I am going to shamelessly steal.
I see "UDO" themed merch in your future, Rae'chel... 🙂
I am! I do! The ideas are here for you to steal away! And you know, that's not a bad idea... 🤔
@@raecheldoes I'm telling you, Craft-tress. 🙂
You really do do wonders!
I'm very glad you think so :)
For rounding corners on things that don't/can't get the shake in a can with rocks method I'll use side of a ball clay tool (the bar/spike the ball sits on). I rub it along the edge.
That's a great meet-in-the-middle tip!
Yaaay! A new RDW video 🎉😊
Haha yesss that's me!
Cheap tip - if you dont have a clay tool for doing the step at 3:10 you can use the edge or corner of a d6
Oh I would've never thought of that. Thanks for the tip!
Awesome!!!
Thank you!
this is fantastic. Love all the detail. The editing for this seems like it may have take 2 eternities. The work really shows. Nicely done! One thought, the wash technique you're attempting appears to want to mimic oil washes. It's a reductive technique. The mineral spirits smell can be off-putting, but it will be a lot less effort (though oil paint, even as a wash, takes an hour before you can start removing it). Black Magic Craft switched to this a long the way. You might find it easier for your terrain pieces as well. Great idea. The walls look great. Your D&D adventure looks genuinely epic!!
Haha thank you for the compliments! And don't worry, the editing only took 1.5 eternities.
I have seen BMC's videos on oil washes and I am probably subconsciously trying to mimic that aesthetic! I'll put a coin in the jar of 'consider switching over to oil washes' now 🙃
Great work! Another punny video!
Thank you! Yes the puns are alive.
The production values in the video are top notch. Makes it fun to watch!
The puns however… 😂
Do you mean to say that the puns however... make it _even more_ fun to watch? 😬
@@raecheldoes they make it more pun to watch, that’s for sure
amazing video as always, it has been too long!
Thank you for the compliments and your patience, because I know what you mean! 🥲
Face reveal! 🤩 Your tables are stunning. SOOO want to play a game on them. 🎲
Haha yes! 🤗 And thank you!! Honestly the crazy terrain makes the battles more fun to DM for overall, too!
I really really don't like the puns, but the terrain is cool. Keep on keeping on.
Yeah they're definitely not everyone's cup of tea 😅 But I appreciate the feedback!
Also I know that this isn’t the focus of the video at all, but your nails are so pretty!! Mine always get worn down, and I blame it on crafting, but the _occasional_ nailbiting might have a little something to do with it… 🙈
Thank you again! The nail biting just maaaay have something to do with it 🫠
N-Swith that disposition is also useful to reinforce the magnetic field
Yes! Practical for more than one reason.
Fantastic work and you are gorgeous :)
Haha thank you on both accounts!
Hell yeah
Waking up at 5 am never felt so good
Glad to be of service, sir.
I love your videos! Great craft ideas and mediocre puns! Which are the best kind of puns!! 😂
I really appreciate the UDO warning on those tips. A lot of TH-cam crafter don't do that and it makes it seem like a fully necessary step, and then I am left having to sus out for myself which steps have to done no matter what and which ones are just them being anal about a detail. But not with you! As someone who could probably benefit from being a little MORE anal about details, I appreciate the "UDO" labels 😁
Thank you very much! I appreciate the feedback on UDO 😊 It is more of a necessity to do it with pieces under camera close-ups, but I know for myself how much more time it adds, which may not be needed for an at-home-game with friends. All this to say that I'm glad you found the UDO helpful!
Nickel is a lot cheaper than cobalt, so good choice ;D
Excellent, excellent.
The walls rock. I love the detail of rounding the outer corners. Would sanding them be faster than using a knife?
Thank you! And yes, sanding would probably be faster, but sometimes I can't be bothered with employing proper safety measures to be sanding foam :P (filtered dust mask, vacuuming etc)
I like to believe you have lots of videos already prepared but since you need to come up with more puns you cannot release them yet. 😅 Looking forward!
LOL this would be an interestingly fictional, made-up, imaginary, not-at-all-real reality indeed... 🙃
Your giving Smol world a run for his money for nicest rocks
You are wonderful and talented and I love your videos.
The puns are always super distracting though, I really don't see what they add, are they really necessary? 😕
I will always be a big fan regardless, just my unsolicited 2 cents. 🙂
Beautiful work as always!
Thank you very much for your kind words and delivery of your feedback! I know puns are definitely not everyone's cup of tea so I very much appreciate you bearing with them 😅
Did you do the RP Archive manerisms on purpose during that shoutout? lol
If I did, then it's totally coincidental haha
I've been doing magnetic walls for a while and never had one pop out. My secret is using tacky glue instead of hot glue. The downgrade is that you need to let it harden over night, but it lasts way longer than hot glue. No need to do the hole filling with mod podge/paint.
Ah thanks for the tip! I've started sealing them over a bit with hot glue, but if I'm batching them I may try this.
NEW VIDEO DROP PLUS FACE RAVEAL LETS GOOOO
AAAHHHHHHHH
What ever happened to RP Archive?
Can't speak for him, but he did get long covid iirc a couple years ago, which was quite severe and impacted his YT a lot. Could be other factors.
He's still making content! He puts a lot of thought and heart into his system, so speaking as another creator, I totally get the time it takes to do what he does!
I am a bit confused. Did you use a friend in the other videos?
Yes! I used my friend video-editing-magic in my other videos :P
We are looking forward to the releases on onlyfans
Hi love your videos ❤so much inspiration and amazing jaw dropind work
