A young man posted a video on youtube circa 2011 relating a vision he had concerning the "big one". He said it would be preceded by an unrelenting series of smaller quakes between the Salton Sea and the CA/Mexico border. I would say this fits the bill. He also said over time there would first be a 5.7 and then a 7.5, then the 9.5. (He said the earthquake would actually be over 10, but there would be no way to accurately measure something that powerful, so they would settle on rating it at 9.5.) We've already seen the 5.7 and the 7.5 over the past few years.
Look for the Story of Joe Brandt, who had a serial dream in 1937 of the Los Angeles Big One Megaquake. Everything of his story seems to have been confirmed piecemeal since 2015 by various scientific studies; a Garlock Fault megaquake unzipping the San Andreas and an eastward Catalina Island Tsunami flowing over the subducted valley floors from Malibu to the Salton Sea.

HOW does one prepare? I saw a woman in her 60s 2 decades ago who had a bottle of water, walking shoes, granola bars, and a change of underwear in a bag in her car to make a getaway. Back in 1976 I was working federal disaster assistance from a flood in imperial Valley. We had 77 quakes one night in El Centro. They do have swarms in this area.

Not likely. A swarm of earthquakes is just that, a swarm. They aren’t generally followed by a big quake. Be glad the pressure is being released with a bunch of smaller ones, instead of a big one.
Your phone should always be charged so you can receive early warning alerts. Also you can grab your phone to call for help in case you’re buried under the rubble.

No, it is luckily-ish not, as missiles are unable to trigger earthquake swarms. The current possibilities are (most likely) a foreshock sequence, (unlikely) volcanic, and (highly, highly, obscenely unlikely, a tectonic plate split. Stay safe!

It also extends south across the border. Plus it’s the tell tale swarm that geo plants always have when they’re doing some heavy injecting. 4 or 5 hours before the landers quake there was a small swarm, This should be taken seriously. If nothing happens then Great, just be prepared.

@@rubidiumeater the fact that there’s a geothermal power plant less than 1/4 mile from the swarm center. The whole imperial valley has a giant geothermal field under it. It also extends south across the border. Plus it’s the tell tale swarm that geo plants always have when they’re doing some heavy injecting. There’s over a dozen different geo plants in the area from the salton sea to holtville. Brawley has 3

My guess is the newer ones like brawley and Hell’s Kitchen on the south east bank of the salton sea are more active when new. Same with mina Nevada. If you search ormat geo locations you’ll see that where there are swarms there are always geo plants
