Imagine saying fantasy is your favorite thing about TI, but you are not willing to pay FUCKING $8.. Esports must be the only discipline where the people who love it, aren't willing to spend any money on it. Fucking madness
I despise so much about the Dota community's entitled behaviour, and a lot of this video is very cathartic. I'm all in on this compendium, and not *just* because they made the Aegis trophy that I'm addicted to collecting substantially cheaper (I may be a part of the problem, but at least I don't post on this totally braindead subreddit). It's fine, and I'm having fun, probably because I too have the reading comprehension to understand Valve's blog posts. To clarify on the "Quinn is immune" complaining that you mention around the 30 minute mark - pros *were* made immune from the consequences of the behaviour system for multiple years until the reporting rework. This happened in response to players being able to spam reports on streamers and get them muted and banned by the automated system. So, in this case, these claims were based upon something - Valve *did* whitelist DPC pros from the report system, and this was the source of a lot of the animosity from players on this issue.
no, it's not you just made it up without even provide any legit source, directly from valve some pro like quinn get the "immunity" just because the behaviour score system on immortal bracket not working as same as ur regular racket for example : quinn goes AFK 1 games, get's reported by 4 people for his teamate but he will crush for the next 3 games and gets commend atleast 3 out of his teams for each match (9 commends totals), so the report will obviously get's purged by the commends as long as quinn stayed on top 10 leaderboard, as long as his pubs WR more than 50%, he will always get forgiven from other immo player, because they dont have any choice rather than playing with the same people in immortal bracket
@@thebeautifulandthedamned572 I don't know what else to tell you other than that it was an extremely open secret after SingSing got report spammed and sent to LP every single time he streamed in 2016 and the pros around him demanded a way to play the game on stream without being instabanned. Because Valve wanted their system to be blindly automated and didn't want to make meaningful improvements to stop abuse like this from happening, that's the compromise on the backend that existed for years - they just made the biggest streamers immune from punishments. No, they didn't announce it, because they announce very little, but there's a ton of evidence both of the inciting incidents that got us to that point and the way things changed, you can look it all up quite easily.

The dota2 community is far removed from the warcraft 3 years. People there have never seen the industry and the game under poor times. They think folks are going to play for $10m+ prize pools forever and anything less means the game is dead. There isn't a game that I got so much out of while paying so little than Dota. I came from league and you need to put down $350 to buy at least the relevant champions unless you want to grind many hours for them. That game is a mess, they only make skins and new champions to sell. Riot was at least smart to stop listening to redditors because of the can of worms that opened up in the past. Valve gives them everything and they're still unhappy lol.
I for one welcome the death of eSports. Can't wait for it to go back to it's roots. Small fan made tournaments. I quit watching eSports when it became the monster it currently is
I love dota it's one of the best games and esports ever, but the community (which I don't partake in) are morons to say the least. Having said that, if the compendium is weak, the prizemoney will be bad, a lot of people buy it for the goodies and the cascading effect of it increasing TI prizemoney is just a bonus in their eyes. Which is scummy, DOTA esports is hype as fuck and should be supported. I've never bought in to the "we are valves bosses" same with people who say such things to police offers and public staffers as well, weird mentality that in no way justifies behaving like petulent spoiled children. Especially when you buy the pass for the goodies and not to support the players...
You never bought "we are Valves bosses" why? Just because? Every single company on planet earth is controlled by its customers and literally all of them would bow to customers' wishes if the % of them was high enough. Also Dota isnt hyped at all, much like League the only people who watch it are players who are invested in it (which is less and less as the game is slowly dying) and, for Dota, people who come watch for the absurd prize pools, thats it. Also why tf should literally anyone be expected to prop up the eSports scene for no direct benefits? And how does not being a blind fanboy willing to pay money just to support an eSport scene equate to childishness? Everything you've said is ridiculous.
@@DebasedAnon I said I did not buy that being used as an excuse to behave poorly. Customers power is one thing and mob-mentality another. Companies should absolute strive to satisfy their customers, but that is a give and take relationship in my opinion. I also said that dota esports is hype as fuck not hypeD as fuck, which means I think it's hype.
@@QenaitheCustodianGuard I mean your stance is based on some naive belief the community as a whole gives a single F about Dota 2's eSports scene, virtually all of them would gladly let it die if the choice was between that and spending money without getting anything in return and rightfully so if you ask me. I think the situation going on here isn't "omg the dota community is complaining again" its completely separate parts of it. The people whining about everything on Reddit were a minority of clowns, Valve for some moronic reason listened to them and implemented their idiotic ideas which pissed off a different larger chunk of the playerbase which then complains and the cycle repeats. Chunk A: whines about everything Chunk B,C,D,E: are fine with the game Valve: listens to chunk A and implements their stupid bs and in the process pisses off Chunk B & C Chunk B & C: complain about said changes asking for more changes instead of to just revert the changes Valve: listens to them again and pisses off Chunk D & E etc. Reddit should never be listened to for advice on how to run a game, everytime it has been in recent memory the games actively became worse and started dying. The exception to this rule is straight up broken stuff like with CS2 and its horrendously broken systems like subtick.
I took 10 seconds to look at the the reddit profiles of some of the whiners highlighted in the videos, and of course a decent number of them are racist dickheads when they're not having a childlike meltdown over the compendium lmao.
Dota fans really are a cancer on the exports scene, but not all esports fans are like you describe, most of us just want good events that we can access, why should any of us give a shit about esports or pay a single dime when there's never an event we can go to, most of the world doesn't just live in north america, europe or china. why should we give a shit
Idk how 7.3.3 is anything remotely close to Dota 3, tf you smoking and whats your rank? I"ll take 2 irl friends who are both immortals with well over 10k hours played going "this patch seems like a huge change but it plays like the exact same shit and arguably impacts the game less than widespread balance changss, I quit" over an eSports analyst commenting what a massive change for gameplay it is... They have quit the game since just like a lot of the community hence the steadily falling player numbers.
@@RLewisReports Aside from Roshan (and the portal there as a result) what noticeable change has there been exactly? I'm not even trying to be snarky I haven't played the game for more than a match or two in well over 5 yrs but both my immortal 10k+ hr friends said the exact same thing: its the same shit even though on the surface its "completely different" and promptly quit playing Dota 2 entirely after a week or two of said patch. To be fair they both were well on their way to quitting entirely after the terrible matchmaking changes that apparently made matchmaking at immortal horrendous.
I don't think the battle pass is legislation it's pure lazyness from valve. We used to get battle passes with loads of content as well as frequent substantive balance patches, and it wasn't just a TI battle pass, it's a bare faced lie we used to get compendiums for majors too. Now we get no content barely any balance patches, but that's still better than how most valve games are treated
To play devil's advocate here; Most people who buy the battle pass itself aren't players who play all year round, thus most likely **not** seeing all the communication from Valve regarding to all the changes. And, as we all know, the only customers who are vocal are the displeased ones.

Chunk A: whines about everything
Chunk B,C,D,E: are fine with the game
Valve: listens to chunk A and implements their stupid bs and in the process pisses off Chunk B & C
Chunk B & C: complain about said changes asking for more changes instead of to just revert the changes
Valve: listens to them again and pisses off Chunk D & E etc.
Reddit should never be listened to for advice on how to run a game, everytime it has been in recent memory the games actively became worse and started dying.
The exception to this rule is straight up broken stuff like with CS2 and its horrendously broken systems like subtick.
This makes me wanna become an unhinged redditor
Holy hell I'm so glad I never was interested in dota2. my god this is absurd haha
TBF , We spent around 6m $ on bunch of stickers that have no use and team wallpapers. i think thats more than any other community would have .
Mad over bear with a hat thats a positive to be fair.
Make Dota 2 ranked and watching pro games behind 30€ monthly subscription, so Dota players will have to go to work and trigger the fuck out of them.
I laughed every second of this video
Don't forget the adult actresses
i only have 200h in dota 2 so iam kinda trash so iam happy that i could got all the skins xd
It is without question a massive change to how the game is played.
Aaaaaaaaww hell here we go again 😂
Dota Christmas 🤣🤣🤣
If the sunlight touched your unwashed skin hahaha!
gold
Richard Lewis: "I don't know why DOTA fans hate on me for no reason. ." Anyway, here's another hour+ long video of me shitting on DOTA fans.
He knows why. And what part of the video did the DOTA community not deserve?
Blitzspanks xD
I don't think the battle pass is legislation it's pure lazyness from valve. We used to get battle passes with loads of content as well as frequent substantive balance patches, and it wasn't just a TI battle pass, it's a bare faced lie we used to get compendiums for majors too. Now we get no content barely any balance patches, but that's still better than how most valve games are treated
You could not have possibly watched the whole video yet
Watch the fucking video first.
Cry is free.
Shitting on a community for views.
To play devil's advocate here; Most people who buy the battle pass itself aren't players who play all year round, thus most likely **not** seeing all the communication from Valve regarding to all the changes. And, as we all know, the only customers who are vocal are the displeased ones.
