Captain Schulenburg has a history long before Selous scouts. He is mentioned and in a photo on course with Brig Gen Jock Harris( watch his Legacy talk with Koos) He again is in Photos in RLI late sixties then in C squadron SAS and eventually SS. A man with a long military career starting in South Africa then Rhodesia.
My dad was 5 recce...stf/seargant m j van der linde.kia 1980.miss him every day.
So sorry for your loss!
The last I heard a couple of months ago was that Schulie was in Pretoria and had a computer shop. I do have contact with his brother who is retired in the george area.

Salute Captain, I served as a frontline soldier with 61 mech in 82 I did ops with a certain mad captain from the 32-recce wing who also was not very military compliant and was an ex RLI and SAS bloke. All the best soldier

funny you should say that. Montie almost always used Ozz, NZ, SA and Rhodie troops in the front waves of his attacks on German positions. The Germans were particularly scared of New Zealander night attacks which they excelled in.
