Like I always say, Toni, you may bring Greg on anytime. This man is a natural to watch, and he comes over great as an interviewee. He is not scared to call a spade a spade, and he draws you into the story. Till next time, Toni and Greg, keep well. 👍🏻
Thanks Greg and Tony! Another fantastic video - Greg has such a nack of good story telling - he talks with such clarity and backed by fantastic memory. Well done and much appreciated. 👍💪
My own more limited experience tells me that regardless of training and preparation, things still go wrong, Not always, but sometimes, and then they just have to be mitigated... good video.
PW Botha and his inner circle were so caught up in their egoistic power trip....only a few of the high brass had the balls to tell them the real risk to the men on the ground, when stakes were to high....others would rather sacrifice foot soldiers than going against the grain.
I likely don't know what I'm talking about - I was in the SAAF. This "plan" they had gives me the shivers. Drive 50 or so vehicles for 3 days deep into Angola. 300km! And nobody noticed anything? That white bakkie? They knew where you were. And you got to attack via the front door? The arcs of fire were in place and ranges were painted on the trees? Didn't anyone maybe consider sending the SF guys to knock on the back door rather? Amazing job that you guys prevailed. 😮
@GregoryAshton_house_n_hill sorry, think you misunderstood. I just like your combined knowledge, and Tony's well thought questions. It's much better than watching journalism today, with informed questions by Tony. Today's journalism is not even researched by anyone. Again Thank you for letting us know something. I am seeing a lot about the secret war in Laos too, so the pairing of Rhodesia and Laos is so fascinating 👌 🙏👍👍
I had a question for Mr Zyl. What happened to the military flags or colors of the different Regiments? Like the RLI for instance did that fall into Mugabe's hands? In Britain they go to churches when retired. In America they usually go to museums some military some state for preservation. In Rhodesia would that even be possible? Of course it maybe a private matter and none of my business.

The other day I was watching video of 14.5mm being fired at US M113. The camera was within the APC. It went straight through.
