If your plan is to work primarily in stills (not video) then yes it's a good option. It can do everything that you need. Keep it in the PASM modes (P to start, A and S as you get more comfortable, M when you want to cry) and this camera can do a lot. Paired with an EF-S 24mm f/2.8 it's small, light, and great for very many situations. (I'd avoid the kit 18-55 zoom, personally.)
There was some static on this video. I re-recorded the second and third, which were far worse, and tripped to edit out the clicks and pops in this one. TH-cam 's audio compression also seems to exacerbate audio problems.
Great little cameras. I’ve taken some fantastic photos with mine, and the video is quite good as well.
I concur. I feel like this was the camera that marks where Rebel DSLRs starting becoming very capable.
Just a question, if you where just starting with digital photography, would you purchase this camera?

@@DavidHancock thank you. I’m going to dig deeper into this camera. Coming from film I know nothing about digital photography.
I don’t know if it’s my connection or your video but it had serious static
